Integration and flexibility deliver outstanding business experiences with innovative platforms enhancements
Scale is a primary concern. If the product vision continues to serve small and mid-cap companies, they need to continue incorporating features into the out-of-the-box solution because small-caps typically lack budget for in-house IT organizations to customize and maintain systems. If they want to expand beyond mid-cap and enter the large-cap market, they need to consider balance and provide more customizability. This includes extending process flows through more APIs and building a more modular architecture with granular backend exposed via API. The process layer should allow clients to customize while invoking back-office APIs. The general perception positions Microsoft Dynamics GP in the middle of the market. Systems such as NetSuite and ServiceNow occupy the lower category, providing narrow use cases. Microsoft Dynamics GP offers more breadth and out-of-the-box capabilities at a slightly higher price point. At the top end, SAP, Oracle, and Salesforce offer extensive customizability at a premium price, suitable for large organizations with multiple transactions and customers. Microsoft Dynamics GP currently occupies a favorable position in the middle segment with limited competition.

Long-term adaptation and evolution meets changing technology trends
SAP ERP is not really real-time. We use the HANA database which is supposed to be memory data in memory, but we are still not very happy. It is supposed to be real-time and come very quickly, but in reality, it still takes time to run. That is why we use BW of SAP, Business Objects, and now we have moved to the Analytic Cloud where we start using predictive AI. SAP recently implemented Databricks, and they started investing significantly in the analytic environment. SAP ERP has been left behind as they moved to S/4HANA with the HANA database. They restructured the whole table structure of SAP ERP, introduced simple finance, simple logistics, and moved HR to SuccessFactors. They have the BTP layer where they manage everything from integration to master data management. The challenge with SAP is that they move very fast to different products and buy different products. It requires significant investment and many skills to catch up because all of these have different sets of technology. The fundamental has changed differently. It is not monolithic anymore but different products under one name, SAP. You have to buy it model by model for additional models. Products such as SuccessFactors, Ariba for procure to pay, Concur for travel, and Facility Management use totally different technology. They try to integrate with each other, but it remains a challenge for SAP to make them have the same management, technology, and operational approach.

In my opinion, areas of SAP S/4HANA that have room for improvement would be in AI and insights generation, which would be a good enhancement for the future. Currently, this analytics is still driven by some sort of structured reporting system. Although it is easier, you still need to do some configuration of it. With AI functionality, you could just prompt and request the information, and then the version would quickly be revealed to you.

"The most valuable feature is financial control. The accounting aspect allows us to manage our clients and payments."
"The fixed assets, payroll, the data module, and user-friendliness are most valuable."
"I’ve implemented several hundred Microsoft Dynamics GP systems for many customers, and the improvements brought about in the client’s reporting and transaction functions are off the charts."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to easily update and maintain accurate data across all aspects of our operations."

"Snowflake's ability to handle large queries efficiently is very beneficial, unlike other databases which can take a significant amount of time for similar tasks."
"Snowflake's ability to handle large queries efficiently is very beneficial, unlike other databases which can take a significant amount of time for similar tasks."
"The system can be integrated with other SAP functionalities - such as finance, production, sales, marketing, HR, et cetera, and can also be customized to become a model that's specifically designed for my business. That's the solution's most valuable aspect."
"What makes SAP ERP better than others is that SAP has taken into consideration the business processes of different industries, such as manufacturing, and has already implemented these best practices in SAP ERP, which are readily available for a client and can be customized based on individual needs."
"The system can be integrated with other SAP functionalities - such as finance, production, sales, marketing, HR, et cetera, and can also be customized to become a model that's specifically designed for my business."
"SAP ERP offers a wide range of functional modules, including payroll, HR, financials, and others."
"Their tech support is always good."
"Overall the solution is very good in the industry."
"SAP ERP is particularly strong in manufacturing, from production planning to plant maintenance, then Material Management itself, and managing warehouse management and inventory control."
"The solution is the biggest ERP system globally and can do pretty much anything."
"SAP is such a big name, so half the time, people are willing to live with those delays with the expectation that things will get better in a year or two."
"I find the Production Planning Cockpit (PPC) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) most valuable modules."
"The biggest benefit of SAP S_4HANA is that you can manage all ERP systems effectively; if you're a production company, you can track product costs, manage profitability easily, and define sales prices."
"As for our requirements, SAP S4HANA has been scalable; we can extend our requirement to the system, and we are using the new enhanced feature and there are many features that are available for the system allowing scalability."
"The most valuable feature is the inbuilt standards included in SAP that customers can adopt easily, and it can be customized based on the specific requirements."
"Technical support is good, it's very nice because we have both local support and international support on their website."
"I like the user experience and usability of SAP Fiori, which is one of the main features that we are using."
"Its analytics capabilities are valuable as they enhance data analysis and insights."

Cons

"With payroll, the payroll that they have offers US or Canadian tax. However, here, our tax payments are different from the US and Canada. It is very difficult to put in our tax tables. We need some customization. It should be readily available for any country to use according to their tax implications. The system should know different types of tax regimes around the world so that it can accommodate. It's a little bit rigid on that."
"Budget commitment and an easy way to import transactions into bank management. Reconcile to GL tool should also incorporate bank management transactions."
"The biggest problem with GP is that it's not cloud based and it doesn't lend itself to subscription licensing. But Microsoft wants everything in the cloud and licensed on a subscription basis.Even tThough GP can be deployed on a cloud server, but basically, it's a Windows based product. It uses the older model and companies purchase the program and pay a 16-18 sixteen- eighteen percent annual renewal fee but Microsoft wants everybody to pay monthly or annual renewal fees on a subscription basis."
"I would rate technical support for Microsoft Dynamics GP on a scale of 1 to 10 as six or five maximum."
"The purchase order and processing aspects of the solution should be improved."
"It requires a lot of expertise to implement."
"Many of our customers are migrating to the cloud rather than staying on-premises."
"With payroll, the payroll that they have offers US or Canadian tax. However, here, our tax payments are different from the US and Canada. It is very difficult to put in our tax tables."
"The product is less intuitive and cumbersome for certain tasks."
"When evaluating the current version I am using now, the SAP GUI is old-style and needs to be replaced with something more modern and easy to use."
"We will not make any major changes, and we are not expecting any enhancements or new features from SAP because they already have a new solution."
"There are some tools we use that no longer have support for the on-prem versions."
"The user interface isn't that great."
"There is room for improvement in the integration of the solution, especially in the payroll area."
"The user interface needs to be improved."
"I think the license fees are too high."
"Licensing is quite expensive. It works with yearly licenses and it's ugly."
"The interface could be improved."
"S/4HANA is like a ready-made suit, but it could be improved by adding more customization options, such as different colors and attractive themes in Fiori. From a functionality standpoint, there's always a workaround solution, and we've been working on SAP for the last 18 years."
"There might be some restrictions in the public cloud."
"The Capex and Opex could be improved. It would be nice if they cut back on the cost."
"It should have more support. Documentation and support for mobile apps can be improved."
"An area for improvement would be integration with different kinds of legacies."
"SAP S/4HANA is a robust front-end solution compared to other web technologies available. However, screen design in SAP EFI might not be as extensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In comparison to other ERP systems, the pricing is not necessarily inexpensive, but it can be considered more cost-effective."
"The solution's price is steep."
"It is an affordable solution."
"I would say that the pricing is moderate, not cheap, and not expensive. There are many more expensive ERPs than GP, and there are less expensive as well, so it is moderately priced."
"Its pricing and licensing are high. Of course, we all know that it is Microsoft."
"I think the tool is competitively priced and it's more of a one-time investment with a low annual renewal fee."
"We evaluated some local products, because of the pricing, but this product has better features and support."
"For us, in our local currency, it costs us around 5 million Botswanan Pulas a year. It's quite a lot of money."
"There is a one-time license that is needed to use the solution. The support is what is needed to be renewed annually."
"It could always be cheaper. They don't have a very easy model of licensing, but large entities would get the upper hand in negotiating the license."
"It is less expensive than its competitors."
"SAP ERP is expensive."
"When we talk about pricing it is expensive. On a scale of one to ten, it would rank a two. There are no additional fees but the user licenses are high."
"My company makes early payments towards the licensing costs attached to the product. There are no additional costs apart from the charges paid toward the subscription-based license offered by SAP."
"We pay annually for the use of this solution."
"I don't know the price, but I know its licensing is on a yearly basis."
"It is an expensive solution."
"It is an expensive solution. On a scale from one to five, with five being the most expensive, I would rate the price at four."

"There is an annual license for SAP S4HANA."
