A flexible solution with superb automation capabilities
The technical support is high-end. They're knowledgeable people, both in the US and in the Philippines. One point of improvement — they should talk more to each other. They're quite responsive, but it depends on the scope of the ticket. If it's just solving an issue from one product, you can have either a consultant from the US or from the Philippines. It gets difficult when a solution is about integration. For instance, authentication mechanisms. Authentication mechanisms come from the US and they have to be incorporated in the Asia version. Then it's difficult because support has to talk to each other.

Centralized global HR data has improved expense control and supports secure employee management
The features of SAP HCM are valued by me as it had a clear idea about what was expected from the user point. The person or the application has a lot of features and it had actually all the information needed from our part. That aspect is nice. Apart from that, the T-codes are really helpful to understand which particular option we need when we put the T-code in the search box. The stability and reliability of SAP HCM product are really nice, very helpful, and secured. It has no point of leakage and is mostly reliable, as most companies and organizations prefer SAP over many tools. As for security, it's already secured from the beginning itself, and that is the only reason our organization relies on it. Since it's very useful at a global scale, it is a very useful tool and is very easy to access and handle.
Streamlined time tracking boosts operational efficiency across multiple regions
The time tracking feature is the most effective for employee management. UKG is used in Europe, the United States, Australia, and East Asian countries for HR activities like payroll. The application is like an ERP, providing comprehensive features for organizations, simplifying their processes, and reducing the need to use multiple software solutions.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution is extremely flexible and the automation capabilities are great."
"Recently, the localization versions for different countries were increased, and that added value to the solution."
"I like the talent, recruitment, and learning features the most."
"SAP HCM is a competitive and comprehensive tool that covers major programs in the enterprise and supports the global process."
"They provide the most stable and powerful technology in the areas of human resources, information systems, and ERP."
"Payroll is always the central area the tool focuses on. It needs to ensure things are flowing, employees are paid on time, and there are no issues related to location, pay, or hiring. SAP HCM helps observe all the work, from hiring to paying paychecks every month. It's a system that depends on the data you input. You don't want to work with bad data and expect miracles. If the data isn't clean, it's more work."
"SAP HCM is a powerful program that can greatly benefit organizations with its comprehensive features and integrations."
"The most valuable feature is Organizational Management (OM)."
"The payroll suite is very valuable."
"The pay policies and approvals are valuable features."
"The solution's employee experience is pretty good."
"The setup process is straightforward."
"The fact that I can see the whole HR information in a single point is valuable. There is a unified view of everything, which is good. Previously, we had many different systems for each part of the information. Now, it is all centralized. It is very good."
"It enables us to manage the system ourselves. We don't need an additional team to do a lot of maintenance and add the things that we want."
"UKG allows us to customize our home screen so that we can easily monitor important items on a daily basis."
"We use the tool for various functions, including payroll, HR, recruiting, onboarding, and workforce management. We've implemented all these modules across all the clients I've worked with."
"The most valuable feature is being able to get time management reports which break out reclassified jobs and departments to separate areas of the company. This allows for better tracking of hours spent in certain jobs and where more hours may be needed."

Cons

"The integration capabilities could be improved."
"The product's license is very expensive."
"SAP HCM needs to improve its UI."
"The talent modules are lacking in HCM, so I would recommend switching to SuccessFactors for talent management, but HCM excels at time management and payroll."
"HCM could improve compatibility, making it more accessible via web applications and graphical interfaces."
"Regarding vSAN ReadyNodes, there needs to be a clear assessment of areas that require improvement from the product perspective."
"We are able to optimize a lot of processes but there is always room for improvement."
"I would say the speed of SAP HCM tool might need some optimization."
"I'm currently working for a state-owned government company, and we need to follow some standards and regulations. We also have a strategy to be followed. Sometimes the template and the format are not available in the SAP HCM, so we have to work around this limitation. The tax also sometimes changes in my country, and we have to redo everything to change the payroll calculations, benefits, and things like that. The talent management feature can be improved. It is currently very simple in SAP HCM. SAP is also very hard to integrate. In terms of monitoring, there are no monitoring tools, but as long as we take care of the disk capacity, there is no problem."
"The tool needs improvement on the configuration side."
"UKG could be a little more flexible in some areas."
"One area where UKG could improve is in its ability to understand its own competency and then work hard to improve it."
"UKG has complex clock-in and clock-out features. It changes things too often, and it feels like the tool is constantly changing things without testing before implementing changes in production. Additionally, it doesn't communicate these changes very well."
"Reporting is always a hurdle for any user just because it is so extensive. They provide a lot of out-of-the-box reports, but it is something that you always need to work on because you need more advanced writing of reports."
"The navigation on the screen could be better. Sometimes, I have to dig a little bit deep to find what I need. Everything is there. It just needs to be a little bit smoother."
"Since UKG is a SaaS software, other parts of the application or add-on solutions are not the best in class or very configurable."
"The system is slow sometimes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's not too expensive, but not too cheap either."
"You pay per license. There not any costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"HCM is cheaper than SuccessFactors."
"The solution is a little expensive and we are charged per user for the license. The solution can be paid monthly or annually."
"Licensing fees are paid yearly."
"We have an annual license for this solution, and the price depends on the number of users."
"The cost depends on the size of the organization. Compared to others, I'd say Oracle is number one, followed by Workday and SAP HCM."
"The pricing is around the middle, at a five out of ten. But it depends on the number of licenses. More licenses mean lower per-user costs. You need to understand how to play the volume game and the growth."
"The pricing is really high."
"I wasn't involved in the pricing part. I'm a user, and I believe it is based on the user count. One thing that is nice about Ultimate is that you can learn how to use the system without additional fees. The learning aspect is the life of a product, and the training was a huge reason why we went with Ultimate. We did have some integration costs. They were a part of the implementation because of the integrations to other systems that we included in our implementation."
"The platform is not affordable but also not the most expensive."
"UKG's pricing and licensing model involves ongoing expenses based on the number of employees paid. The initial implementation cost is low when UKG implements it directly. However, when partners handle the implementation, it becomes more expensive since partners don't receive the monthly recurring fees."
"The pricing depends on the number of licenses we buy."
"While I am unsure of the licensing cost itself, the total cost of implementation and licensing for a company with over 5000 employees would be around 6,00,000. So, there are additional costs beyond licensing."
"If you're going for the full suite, it can be fairly pricey."
