Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is that it's easy to use.""I like the speed of the processing and how easy it is to use.""PeopleSoft has been fairly reliable for us. We haven't had any issues with stability.""The human resources aspect was probably the most valuable feature. We used it for keeping track of time and other things of that nature.""PeopleSoft is resilient and has the flexibility for us to customize it.""Scales up very well.""PeopleSoft is scalable.""A solid and mature product."

"I have found the most valuable feature to be business intelligence and Cognos reporting.""The employee self-service feature is most valuable. This is the restaurant industry, and they have a mobile app that allows employees to go in and manage their data. So, employees can manage direct deposit accounts, emergency contacts, and other things in the app. That's definitely the biggest benefit.""It enables us to manage the system ourselves. We don't need an additional team to do a lot of maintenance and add the things that we want.""The fact that I can see the whole HR information in a single point is valuable. There is a unified view of everything, which is good. Previously, we had many different systems for each part of the information. Now, it is all centralized. It is very good."

Cons
"I would like for the initial rollout process to be completed faster so that it can be implemented in a more efficient manner.""Response time takes very long and requires a person to be awake night and day to benefit from it.""The implementation of PeopleSoft is quite complex and is not as easy as other cloud products such as SuccessFactor or Workday.""PeopleSoft should be more flexible with the configuration. There should be less coding and more configuration.""Tools and UI could be enhanced.""One of the areas that could improve is the capability of utilizing mobile for some of the self-service activities that are missing. They are running on the older platform. What is happening is people are focusing on the cloud. PeopleSoft is a good provider and should into the cloud. That could be an advantage for them. Customers would not have to go find another solution that is a completely different platform that has different functionality altogether.""The whole systematic flow of any query raised to HR should be improved.""An area for improvement would be that it's quite difficult to learn how to use this product, and the documentation provided isn't helpful in giving you practical advice."

More PeopleSoft Cons →

"Reporting is always a hurdle for any user just because it is so extensive. They provide a lot of out-of-the-box reports, but it is something that you always need to work on because you need more advanced writing of reports.""The navigation on the screen could be better. Sometimes, I have to dig a little bit deep to find what I need. Everything is there. It just needs to be a little bit smoother.""Certainly, the time and attendance and the payroll integration need a lot of work. They are disjointed pieces, and they don't work smoothly together. That's the main drawback.""The solution could improve by simplifying it even more core reports, such as more sample reports, more generic reports that you can edit and improve on yourself."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "There are no additional costs for licensing."
  • "We are a University and the cost and license are negotiated privately."
  • "The main issue we have with the solution is that it is very expensive."
  • "One of the cheapest solutions available and also one of the best."
  • "I would consider this to be an expensive product, but the quality justifies it."
  • "This solution offers annual licensing. We pay per user."
  • "PeopleSoft has a yearly maintenance fee."

  • "I wasn't involved in the pricing part. I'm a user, and I believe it is based on the user count. One thing that is nice about Ultimate is that you can learn how to use the system without additional fees. The learning aspect is the life of a product, and the training was a huge reason why we went with Ultimate. We did have some integration costs. They were a part of the implementation because of the integrations to other systems that we included in our implementation."
