I have been using Microsoft OneDrive for Business for 10 years now.

I mostly use Microsoft OneDrive for Business for storage of documents and also with a lot of Microsoft tools, so we store documents that are shared in Teams.

In a recent place where we were developing some things, we were thinking of some discussions and then we were storing all the things that we have discussed into some Excel files. These Excel files we used to store into Microsoft OneDrive for Business because we were able to share the OneDrive link with anybody in our team and we can give everybody access to this SharePoint location or the OneDrive one, so from there, we can give everybody access and everybody can be working in parallel on the same thing.

How collaboration works is this: we are trying to update everybody's details into an Excel, where everybody has their own agenda and the task of adding what they have done today, what their planning is, and what went well and what did not go well. We add this into one Excel so that it is documented well, so that our improvements and feedback can be put there. It is a great place for storing all these things because we have a very small team. How this has saved us time is because everybody is writing into the same Microsoft OneDrive for Business single file, which allows everybody to write at the same moment without needing a lot of other applications or any subscriptions required for real-time collaboration in Microsoft OneDrive for Business, and that is provided at default and at free cost with the lowest package.

We used to update every sprint's retro into Excel. For example, we are telling what went well in this sprint, what could have gone well, what we can improve, and what did not go well. These points help us understand the flow we are going through, whether we are going with the expected speed, and it helps us improve and analyze our current existing work methodology, which helps us understand that we need to improve in some areas and with some areas we have some backlogs. Collaboration is a very good point for us because Microsoft OneDrive for Business provides it. Because of this, we have saved 80% of our team's time.

The best feature of Microsoft OneDrive for Business is that we can have a lot of things present in it, such as Teams, and then from Teams we can share the Excel, then we have Word documents, and we have other things that is OneNote, and all of these are stored into Microsoft OneDrive for Business. All these things are shareable to each other via Microsoft Teams and in parallel, everybody in the team can work on the same document and proceed with the task that is given to us in parallel, so the collaboration is really fruitful for us.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business has impacted our organization in a very positive way because we are able to complete our task without waiting for anybody else to complete their task so that we can gain access to edit the same thing again, and this is how we have reduced time. We had a small team of 20 people, and instead of everybody writing for five minutes and waiting for two hours or one hour, we are able to write the same thing in just five to 10 minutes while everybody can do it at the same time and everyone can edit it at their own time. It is not the case that somebody has checked in this document, so another person cannot edit it at that moment. This has impacted us very well, saving us already 80% of the time because of the collaboration feature.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business can also be used with applications such as Power Apps and Power Automate, so some things from our OneDrive can be used to these applications and we can create applications or workflows that are aligned with our data, which is stored in OneDrive, and then we can use it into our required flows or workflows or applications.

There are some AI features that we can use in Microsoft OneDrive for Business, which really helps us understand what is the correct grammar when we are writing something. It also helps us correct some data that we provide and also suggests sometimes, and if we ask the AI, it also gives us the proper response. Regarding security and governance, I believe Microsoft takes care of my data.

The accuracy is really good and I can rely on the output that the AI provides. It has always met my expectations.

I do not think that there is any improvement needed in Microsoft OneDrive for Business because a lot of features are already provided in the package that we have purchased, and we do not have anything that would be improved as of now. Speed-wise, Microsoft OneDrive for Business is very fast.

Sometimes I think the auto-save feature of the things that we edit should also work in offline mode for some time, because once we get disconnected, I sometimes feel that the Excel or the Word document is trying to connect to Microsoft OneDrive for Business and trying to save it, but somehow the sessions expire. I sometimes want this to not happen. It can reconnect to the server when connection is up, but I can still work on the document.

Customer support is really good. They are always ready for our questions and they answer us within no time and very quickly.

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate the customer support as nine, and I would also advise others who are trying to purchase to take a free trial before purchasing it.

For setup cost, sometimes we get licensing and price assistance. They help us in every way, and the setup is really simple. For pricing, sometimes we have offers, so I feel that it is good enough, but I feel sometimes without the offers, the pricing of Microsoft OneDrive for Business is a little high.

We did not evaluate other options, but for Drive, I think we have tried to evaluate. However, as Google Drive does not come with Microsoft Teams, we have very good hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams, so we did not go to Google suite. Instead, we went with Microsoft.

My advice for others looking into using Microsoft OneDrive for Business is to take a free trial before purchasing. I would rate this product a nine out of ten.

I have been working with Microsoft OneDrive for Business for three years; I started my job in that industry when I came and began with the Office 365 technology.

The best thing about Microsoft OneDrive for Business is its shared part. For Microsoft OneDrive for Business, we can share folder labels as well as specific files, which is the best feature that I would recommend.

Microsoft has added an AI tool called Copilot to Microsoft OneDrive for Business, which helps us manage files. For instance, if we have an Excel file on Microsoft OneDrive for Business and we open it, it gives suggestions, but this feature is part of a paid subscription. Any customer needs to pay for it, and it is embedded in all the applications such as Microsoft OneDrive for Business, Excel and PowerPoint, providing useful suggestions when adding something. Copilot is helping significantly.

I use Microsoft OneDrive for Business to save files; whatever we discuss in meetings, we make an Excel file there. It is very easy since it's a cloud storage solution, which makes sharing simple. There should be a shared folder where we just share a link to that particular user or within the team, and if we put something in that, it is visible to all the people in that particular team who have access to that folder.

Regarding Microsoft OneDrive for Business's versioning control, sometimes there are syncing problems. Microsoft OneDrive for Business is available on the cloud as well as on my local machine. When we put a file in Microsoft OneDrive for Business on the local machine, it takes some time to sync, and sometimes it gives an error, which is a specific issue I have encountered.

If Microsoft works on the syncing part of Microsoft OneDrive for Business, it would greatly enhance its functionality. Sometimes we update a file, and it isn't showing on another end, which requires us to run a sync again for it to appear. That part, if addressed by Microsoft, would be great.

I love SharePoint more, so I will provide feedback in relation to that. SharePoint has only one folder, and we must create multiple folders within that to store files. If they introduce a categorized option, similar to SharePoint where we have team site differentiators, and options for creating communication sites, that would be fantastic for Microsoft OneDrive for Business.

I find Microsoft OneDrive for Business stable and reliable. There was a file in the past that got deleted, and when we contacted support, we were able to fix that issue too. Microsoft OneDrive for Business has the durability option.

I find Microsoft OneDrive for Business scalable. It is already scaled up because Microsoft has provided the extended version of SharePoint alongside Microsoft OneDrive for Business. Nowadays, we refer to SharePoint more frequently. Microsoft is working on enhancing that part. Microsoft OneDrive for Business is stable, and there has been no development or feature added from the last two years, to my knowledge while working with it. Microsoft is focusing more on SharePoint rather than on Microsoft OneDrive for Business.

I would rate Microsoft technical support 9.5 on a scale where 10 is the best. I have not connected with the technical team of Google Workspace, so my rating is solely based on Microsoft.

We have a test tenant from which we conduct our testing, so if we raise a ticket from that, we typically receive a call within 30 minutes for that specific issue. We are not paying for anything; we have a free license for the developer version, yet if I raise a ticket, we get a call within 30 minutes. That's the best part of Microsoft support.

I have used Google Workspace, which has similar features. However, if we talk about the email services of Microsoft, it is superior. In Google Workspace, there are no options for SharePoint, which provides different team sites and communication sites, making Microsoft OneDrive for Business and SharePoint more reliable and user-friendly.

I didn't find any disadvantages or cons of Microsoft in comparison to Google technologies. Whenever we have any issues, we raise a ticket with them, and they resolve it with high priority. The best part is that they don't charge for addressing simple issues related to Office 365; it's free for us.

The initial setup of Microsoft OneDrive for Business is great. If I have to give it a rating from one to five, I will give it a five. It is very easy; you simply have to log in, and then it starts working seamlessly.

The pricing for Microsoft OneDrive for Business would be average. If we analyze deeper or require extra storage apart from other products in the market, I would rate it at 4 or 4.5 concerning the pricing.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business is cost-effective. Currently, we are using a bundle pack with ample licenses such as Business Basic, Business Standard, and Business Premium. If we take the Business Standard license, it is effectively free, providing us with approximately 5 TB of storage. For SharePoint, there is extended storage on a tenant-wise basis, which is beneficial for me.

I would advise others considering Microsoft OneDrive for Business to be precise while sharing files or particular folders. Often, we unknowingly give access to random users. For instance, I shared access to a particular folder, and the person I granted access to shared that link with someone else. In Microsoft OneDrive for Business, there is an option where if this link is available to anyone and you've given access to that link, they can access that particular folder. Hence, they need to work on maintaining access controls better.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate Microsoft OneDrive for Business an 8.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business is used for storage of documents, spreadsheets, and I also use it for creation of landing pages which is internal rather largely for event broadcast internally. We use SharePoint largely for creating a repository pages of resources and assets.

I use Microsoft OneDrive for Business basically for storage. I use it for largely storing of online storage of our office products, office files such as Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint. For storing and collaborating online is where Microsoft OneDrive for Business becomes very important for me at least.

For Microsoft OneDrive for Business, something which would really be helpful is something which would help with Outlook email automation. There is no automation platform currently available for Microsoft Outlook that is not included in the version which I have at least of Microsoft OneDrive for Business. An automation platform which allows you to automate workflows, get analytics of usage, even with the existing assets, would be beneficial. If the asset owner can get some analytics of things, or a dashboard which is more top-level or high-level in terms of asset downloads and if there is a more collaborative platform in terms of engagement, more similar to Notion, would be nice for Microsoft OneDrive for Business suite of products.

AI is already available since Microsoft OneDrive for Business is a Microsoft product, so there is a Chat GPT's Microsoft version of OpenAI available. I have not used it personally because I use my internal tool, but it is available and people can use it. I am sure it will be good because Chat GPT is the underlying engine.

I have used Microsoft OneDrive for Business for close to three years. In the past, I have used it right now with this company again around one and a half years.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business is very stable and very good.

I have not faced an issue in this company, but I know that Microsoft has a pretty good tech support team. Unless things have radically changed over the last four or five years, I think it is still good. I do not think I have faced any issues in the past with Microsoft.

Unfortunately with Microsoft OneDrive for Business, I cannot give that answer because it comes pre-configured for us. Somebody has already configured it for us because Oracle is a large organization with over a lakh of employees. I really do not know who did the configuration and whether it was easy or not. All I know is it is easy to use.

Google Drive is the closest competitor. Google Drive and Google Suite of products does something very similar to what Microsoft OneDrive for Business does. It is much easier to configure and has a free tier available. Microsoft OneDrive for Business is more enterprise focused and is something which is enterprise-ready. It makes my job easier, especially because I work with a B2B company. There are values of both solutions depending on the use cases.

For a smaller business or a business which is of medium size, I think Google Suite and Google Drive would be sufficient for initially scaling. But once your company becomes a large organization with 5,000 plus employees, Microsoft is the way to go.

Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud storage product. It is designed for cloud storage and cloud access so that you can make it public or share it with your teammates.

It functions as virtual storage that you need to purchase. It comes as a free product with a Microsoft subscription, but if you want additional space, you can purchase it outright.

What I appreciate about Microsoft OneDrive is that internet access is all you need. It eradicates the need for physical network storage devices and physical storage devices. You can upload content to the cloud, making it easy to access and shareable.

If you need to share files locally, you must be on the same network or have external Bluetooth or some medium to transfer files. With Microsoft OneDrive, you simply upload your files, and any person with access can retrieve them. That's the primary use case, and it's free.

Regarding improvements for Microsoft OneDrive, I don't have any particular input because I primarily use it for file access and sharing. I would say I have everything I need currently. It might incorporate more AI features in the long run. While it might have some basic AI features now, going forward, detailed analysis capabilities would be helpful.

Microsoft OneDrive's integration with other Microsoft products enhances its utility and performance because it's seamless.

The performance is excellent as it is a first-party product of Microsoft. It has lifelong services built in. On any platform, core platform tools, or SharePoint, you will be able to transfer files and use them instantly.

If a document is available, you can have connectors to connect, and it's very seamless to operate as it comes from the Microsoft ecosystem.

Regarding Microsoft OneDrive's stability, we have retention policies for the documents. It's a Microsoft product and a safer product. While there have been some instances of data breaches, it remains a very safe product overall. Being a certified Microsoft product, it should be among the safer products available.

The initial setup for Microsoft OneDrive is very basic. You just need a Microsoft subscription, and Microsoft OneDrive comes free. You only need an email ID. For organization setup, you need to contact Microsoft.

Regarding version control, while I cannot reveal the exact tech stack I'm using in my present company due to confidentiality, I have experience with multiple version controls, including Git, TFS (Team Foundation Server), and GitHub. We have used all these Source Control Management systems at various points.

I have been using Microsoft OneDrive for the past four to five years.

With Microsoft OneDrive, deployment isn't necessary for cloud usage. For local premises on your own servers, if you don't have data confidentiality concerns and are comfortable with your files being online, that's one option you can choose. It's the cost-affordable option.

However, if you want to have your local premises and servers with your own Microsoft OneDrive setup, it might involve some cost expenditure.

Support is also available from the support team. Their customer care is available 24/7, and registered purchasers of their products receive extra support privileges.

Before using Microsoft OneDrive, we were using SharePoint, though I'm not entirely certain. Before that, we relied on physical storage devices or NAS (network attached storage) devices.

The initial setup for Microsoft OneDrive is very basic. You only need a Microsoft subscription, and Microsoft OneDrive comes free with it. An email ID is all that's required. For organizational setup, you need to contact Microsoft once.

I would recommend Microsoft OneDrive to others because of its easy availability and free version offering. It's a very good product to be recommended. The overall rating for this solution is 9 out of 10.

My use cases include storing my company data to my personal drive, and I can use it as my personal drive so that I can save it as a shared drive for saving my personal data as well as my company data. Whenever my data is required to be shared personally, whenever my company data needs to be saved personally, I need to share it on the shared drive. I can download it to the local drive, and apart from that, all the other details regarding my personal work stuff are shared on Microsoft OneDrive for Business. We don't have admin credentials for saving the data on C drive, so I save it on Microsoft OneDrive for Business and put the environmental credentials for that in the C drive.

What I value most about Microsoft OneDrive for Business is the network sharing and the data recovery. Whenever data gets deleted, it will be recovered from the recycle bin and will be available for 30 days. That's a valuable feature.

The user interface of Microsoft OneDrive for Business could be improved. The user interface needs to be taken care of because it is difficult for us to identify where the SharePoint files are located and where the other things are. Improvements are necessary, and hyperlinks need to be provided for each and every file so that it will be easier for people to segregate the things.

Regarding scalability, the default space needs to be improved. It should be increased for the free version users, making it more reachable to many people, as the free version provides lesser space for the users.

The initial setup and deployment of Microsoft OneDrive for Business are easy to do. However, sometimes it won't launch. By default, I make it a default app while starting the system, but there are times when it won't launch. I have to run a command for that, and there's a shortcut command for me. I need to change the registry settings to zero or one; if Microsoft OneDrive for Business is not starting by default, I have to go to the registry settings and change that from zero to one or one to zero. This aspect can be difficult for users.

My advice to others is that since Microsoft OneDrive for Business is portable, you can access it anywhere from any devices if you have an account with Microsoft. It is secure, and no one can hack anything on your Microsoft OneDrive for Business. You can access it from any device, anywhere, any place, if you have the internet.

In the most recent business context, I am doing some work at a university, and the documents that I'm creating in Microsoft Word or Excel are automatically saving out to Microsoft OneDrive for Business so that I am getting constant updates saved, and I don't have to do file saves just to make sure that I don't lose something.

Some of the best features of Microsoft OneDrive for Business are the ability to ensure automatic saving. I've been in IT for over thirty years and have seen plenty of times when people forgot to hit file save and lost data, and having this automatically saved constantly is a very nice feature set.

The synchronization capabilities of Microsoft OneDrive for Business certainly support my work as it is handy if you're concerned about people writing data on their local PCs and the laptops getting stolen or crashing, to have it sync everything up to your Microsoft OneDrive for Business account so that you're not having to worry about backing up locally. You try to make sure that people are putting things in the right folder to ensure they'll get backed up.

Before using Microsoft OneDrive for Business, we were actually storing things locally and had shared folders or home folders out on the network. They made the change to Microsoft OneDrive for Business because they wanted to put it out in the cloud and get better performance, automatic backups, and all the rest of it.

One of the things that I find to be challenging about Microsoft OneDrive for Business, specifically working with Windows eleven, is that it automatically tries to sync up accounts. For example, if you've got an account that you've been using and you decide to set up a second computer tied to that account, it will sometimes replicate data off of Microsoft OneDrive for Business back to the local computer even though you didn't intend for that to happen, and that's annoying.

I've been dealing with Microsoft OneDrive for Business on and off probably for four or five years, but most of it has been personal. I've been using it professionally for probably a year and a half to two years.

In our case, it took a couple of months to deploy Microsoft OneDrive for Business as we had employees in five different states, and they did it state by state, with some of the people they were having to move over not having great availability.

I have not dealt with Microsoft support related to Microsoft OneDrive for Business, but I would rate their customer service in the range of seven or eight at least. The challenge is that it is obviously not the cheapest thing in the world.

Deploying Microsoft OneDrive for Business requires a small team that would deploy within an organization. In the previous organization that I worked for, they flipped over so that my documents and all of those types of things automatically were in my personal folder, which were automatically being put up in Microsoft OneDrive for Business. To do that across an organization certainly takes a team rather than just one or two people.

I would recommend Microsoft OneDrive for Business to others because it's an easy-to-use solution. I think it's great that it gives you a place to store it out in the cloud rather than having to take up space on local resources. My only concerns are obviously making sure that it's properly secured, and that's the main thing. On a scale of one to ten, I rate Microsoft OneDrive for Business an eight.

I use Microsoft OneDrive for all activities at the university, for education, research, and administrative purposes.

We use Nextcloud service similar to Microsoft OneDrive for the same purpose.

I am still using Nextcloud today because this is a disadvantage of Microsoft OneDrive. We have limited storage, and the storage price is quite high for us, so we started to use another service implemented on our own servers. This is an on-premise service where the storage is cheaper. If we do not want advanced functionalities to share documents, we rather use Nextcloud to store large volumes of data.

The best features in Microsoft OneDrive are that it makes the files available from around the world, so users are not tied to a computer. Files can be accessed from any device in the world.

Sharing files among users in Microsoft OneDrive is important.

The integration of Microsoft OneDrive with Office 365 is very important to get the possibility to edit files from OneDrive, also with desktop packages because we use desktop packages.

Version control in Microsoft OneDrive is rather not used or important, perhaps because we have not promoted this functionality extensively.

It would be nice to have the possibility to sign documents with a qualified digital signature in Microsoft OneDrive. I know that SharePoint and Microsoft OneDrive can be used to sign documents with services such as DocuSign, but we mostly use qualified digital signatures stored not in a cloud service but on a user's card or tokens. We have no possibility to sign with such technology.

We have been using Microsoft OneDrive for six to seven years.

This is not a limitation in scalability for Microsoft OneDrive, but a limitation in our budget. We have the possibility to buy any volume of storage if we have the funds.

My experience with technical support from Microsoft has been rather poor.

As administrators, when we make a request, we need very advanced help. Very often, we have to make many iterations with the first-line people who do not have enough knowledge to solve our problem. We need a lot of time to be transferred to a competent person.

It seems to be easy to install Microsoft OneDrive.

I still work with SAP and Microsoft, but I'm not the appropriate person to discuss the SAP system as another unit administers this system.

We use both SAP and Microsoft separately. We are using Microsoft products such as Microsoft 365 cloud, mostly for email, and of course Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. These are the basic services at Microsoft 365. We do not use Azure services at this moment.

We are using educational licenses for Microsoft OneDrive, so we appreciate the educational prices for this service.

We have Microsoft OneDrive on the public cloud.

The main aspects that should be addressed are support issues, limited storage, and the feature for signing documents with a qualified digital signature.

I am the Director of IT. We are starting with InTune, so we do not have extensive experience with it. We do not use any Azure products such as Virtual Desktops.

I use Microsoft OneDrive for Business as a storage device. The advantage with Microsoft OneDrive for Business storage is that wherever you are, your data is available on that machine, so your work effectively moves to the other machine once it is saved in Microsoft OneDrive for Business.

The system works as if you're working on the local disk, and there is a synchronizer that synchronizes the files to the cloud. It doesn't stop us from actually working or slow us down because it works in the background, while the actual files we are working on get saved into the local disk.

When using Microsoft OneDrive for Business to share and work online with Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you can edit the same document, and you can work on slides while a colleague is working on the same slide or a different slide, making it easy to collaborate once you have the online link to share.

Microsoft OneDrive for Business is quite scalable at this point. However, sometimes when we work on PowerPoint or large Word documents, there is a chance that the document gets rolled back to a previous version, and you lose your work. This is a small inconvenience that I find. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it happens, you have to redo some of the work that we have done. I wish this issue would be fixed.

The current issue that's bothering me is on the AI side. There is Copilot for Word and PowerPoint, but it doesn't work very well at this point in time. I understand Microsoft is working actively to fix some of the issues there.

I use it as part of the organization.

The files are stored on the cloud, and there's a client on the desktop that puts the files on the local machine.

It is mostly stable.

We just use Outlook rather than the server for Exchange functionality.

Overall it is good. We don't see major issues because we rarely call Microsoft support.

We used to use G Drive, and then we moved to Microsoft OneDrive for Business.

I cannot comment on the initial setup as I used it many years ago, and it was an organizational decision to move to Microsoft OneDrive for Business.

I don't use Apache Airflow extensively. I work in consulting, so I keep changing my tech stack depending on the client. I cannot do a deep dive into any particular tech stack because I don't consistently use it for my work.

I'm working on Microsoft Fabric and using GitHub Copilot for coding. I used to work on Azure Databricks, but I don't anymore in my current project.

I can describe some of the use cases for Microsoft OneDrive. We use SharePoint to store projects that we run. In the last 10 years, we have approximately 400 projects that we run with the industry. I use it because I don't prefer the web interface to see documents, Excel, and other kinds of files. I prefer to use Microsoft OneDrive and to map files on my machine locally. Some files I download and use locally.

Some of the best features I appreciate most about Microsoft OneDrive are the simplicity to map different kinds of SharePoint files that are stored in the cloud. It's easy for me, and I prefer to use this solution.

The version control is acceptable, though I don't use it extensively. I appreciate the feature in SharePoint where it's difficult to permanently delete a file, as you can always recover files very easily.

When referring to the beginning, I mean more than 10 years ago. We used to have problems with losing connections and files due to synchronization issues between the local and cloud file systems. There were also numerous problems when using Mac. However, these issues occurred long ago.
