Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Useful for vulnerability scanning and data encryption
AWS Config's dashboard improved our company's security as it helps with the vulnerability scanning of resources. AWS Config integrates with the existing security infrastructure of our company, and it is an easy process that is not at all complicated. AWS Config is a security product. The tool protects its users' resources and data from unauthorized access, security breaches, and threats. The product helps with data encryption. You can have your data on AWS KMS, which helps with data encryption. For areas like SSL/TLS encryption, the tool offers data protection between AWS services and endpoints. As I need to learn the components of the product, I rate the overall tool a seven out of ten.

Successfully manage endpoint security and compliance while facing integration challenges
I have not come across any difficulties. I integrated it with ILMT (IBM License Metric Tool). It lets us identify all software being used in my organization with BigFix. It provides input of all types of software being used, including details and information about hardware specifications. I am more involved in software licensing and procurement, so I utilize this tool for procuring more licenses if needed for our company. After integration, we get different dashboards showcasing our IBM infrastructure, highlighting various issues in our environment that we can mitigate. I recommend BigFix to others. I rate BigFix a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Users can make screenshots, and devices only need the minimal version of iOS."
"Microsoft Intune has transformed my organization; we are managing to scale the Intune deployment across all our regions efficiently, and it works perfectly for our needs."
"Stable product that's easy to set up compared to other MDM products."
"The dashboards, the security, and the customization capabilities work very well for us."
"For our clients, the conditional access feature along with different compliance policies that they can set is valuable."
"We are using the mobile feature, and we are also using MDM to lock the devices, to push restrictions, et cetera"
"Microsoft Intune helps us avoid issuing everyone company-owned devices. We provide a stipend, allowing users to bring their own devices. This approach gives us leverage against other MSPs. It also enhances collaboration because clients already covered by specific licensing can optimize their usage of Microsoft Intune."
"The Microsoft Windows Autopilot and Defender policies are the most valuable features of this solution."
"The initial setup is super easy, it takes like two minutes. Literally a one-click deployment."
"The scalability is a ten out of ten."
"The tracking, history logs, and security alert features are valuable because they are critical features that assist us."
"The solution is scalable and provides over 100 rules."
"AWS Config's dashboard improved our company's security as it helps with the vulnerability scanning of resources."
"The tool protects its users' resources and data from unauthorized access, security breaches, and threats."
"Installing the instances and performing upgrades is smooth and clean."
"We found the implementation partner to be very supportive in terms of explaining and training the in-house resources and deploying the solution."
"BigFix has always been easier to use when managing servers, especially when you deal with so many servers; we have 7,000, and it's convenient to patch them all at once."
"We basically use it as our master source and then, from that, it helps us provide a source of truth."
"We've actually fixed the patching by improving our patch application by almost 60%."
"The most valuable feature of BigFix is the reporting tool and patching Windows."
"We are able to decrease the number of high and critical vulnerabilities by at least 30% in six months, which is a huge improvement and makes the environment more secure."
"The use of fast query has been extremely valuable providing insight in real time of the endpoints."
"It is a great product."

Cons

"While the ability to deploy applications at startup is reliable, the policy-based application deployment method has not reached the same level of consistency."
"I have experienced downtime, bugs, and glitches. I rate it a seven because when we have bugs or instability in Microsoft Intune, we need to wait for the backend from Microsoft Intune to resolve issues and we can't deliver solutions to clients because we need to wait for action plans and related processes."
"Intune is not the most user-friendly mobile device management platform available."
"Historically, Group Policy has simplified the management of various items, such as printer and drive mappings and while Intune offers workarounds, it lacks native support for these functionalities."
"I have faced stability issues with Microsoft Intune plenty of times, but I think it's part of the process."
"The reports that are generated aren't so great; they don't give a lot of meaning so far."
"I'm still playing around with it and haven't had any issues with the product yet, but support can definitely be improved."
"Currently, BitLocker does not support BYOD enrollment, which is a product limitation."
"Improvements are needed as per customer requirements."
"The solution is missing a configuration that can assist us when writing our programming languages."
"The solution is missing a configuration that can assist us when writing our programming languages."
"There is room for improvement in built-in tools, they are not up to the mark."
"The reboot process for AWS instances could be improved. Microsoft Azure does not have this problem, so AWS could consider making their instances more robust. You would not need to reboot your instances frequently to replace the hardware and stuff. They can look for a better approach or mechanism to improve in the future. The concern is that you need to plan for the outage when you reboot an instance. You need to have a maintenance window where you can properly reboot the instance without affecting your application. When Amazon announces that you need to reboot an instance and are not ready, this becomes a problem."
"I would like to see different types of reporting and the ability to integrate closer with the cloud."
"The scalability of the web UI product doesn't scale to the size that we need for our implementation so it needs to expand."
"The sub-capacity licensing was a challenge for some of it. We had trouble getting it to calculate right."
"The product lacks AI, ML, and IIT."
"We would like to see a different license plan, e.g. to include features from lifecycle with Patch Management, as an example."
"I remember doing restarts a few times. So, making sure that it is rock solid from an executable perspective is important."
"I want to see a solution for being able to deploy automated software to a Mac running OS X 10.13, something that's going to deal with kernel exceptions and answering prompts for user permissions for data folders and whatnot."
"Sometimes there is a lag time for our users."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Every customer used to purchase licenses based on their needs."
"With our standard E5 agreement with Microsoft, there have been no pricing concerns. Introductory professional services, like a fast-track service, were included with our E5 membership, and there have been no additional costs."
"For organizations that are a Microsoft shop, the pricing is compelling."
"The price of Microsoft Intune is reasonable."
"The price for Intune is fair."
"There is a license required to use the solution. If you're core users in Office 365, for example, you have Outlook email and E3 license, this is only email. You have to buy an EMS license to have Microsoft Intune. It is expensive."
"I don't have any problem as far as cost is concerned. It is bundled with our license."
"The cost is somewhat on the higher side, particularly when considering certain price points, especially in markets like India."
"The solution charges us per hour. There's no license."
"It is a very expensive tool. AWS pricing for Config is not fixed and depends on your organization's size and complexity."
"The cost is slightly high."
"It is too costly. It is one of the best tools, but because of pricing, not all clients support it. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."
"The price is very fair."
"The license is subscription-based."
"I would stay with the Managed Virtual Server license model, which is a 1-to-1 license per OS whether it is virtual or physical."
"The price of the solution is high. There are not any additional fees from the standard license."
"The price is reasonable, but our customers find it expensive."
"It might be about $23 a client."
