Effective project tracking enhances decision-making but requires improved subtask hierarchy
I would like to have the ability to create more than two levels of subtasks in monday.com. It was a significant challenge as I often wanted to make a task dependent on another group, but it was difficult. It would be more efficient if it were easier to establish dependencies across different groups.

In terms of improvements, one significant area for the product is efficiency, particularly when processing large data loads. Similar to other platforms, long recording times lead to extended processing times, which can be inconvenient for users. For instance, a previous client encountered delays due to lengthy recording times. To address this, I implemented a live transcription approach where data is transcribed in real-time, immediately sent to the AI model, and returned quickly. This optimized the process, but enhancing the platform's inherent efficiency would be beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is nice that you can color code everything."
"Alerts come in pretty handy every once in a while just to keep up."
"Marking the status of deliverables is the most useful aspect."
"The flexibility to create any sort of format has been very valuable."
"Integrations with Slack and integrations as a whole are wonderful."
"We have gotten rid of all our paper-based systems and our marketing work is now 100% visible to anyone in our planning organization providing ultimate accountability between teams."
"The coolest thing is the way the files or documents can be uploaded to subitems."
"It has kept us very organized."
"It's allowed us greater visibility into the number of touches it takes to generate a real opportunity as well as overall visibility to seller activity. We are getting better data on what messaging works when reaching out to prospects."
"The solution facilitates Git workflow management, enabling me to handle various pull requests from team members. Additionally, I use these tools to deploy applications to different cloud providers, such as GCP and AWS, including AWS EC2 services. The automation tools also streamline testing processes for the code submitted by other developers."
"Outreach is very good when engaging with sponsors to understand their expectations."

Cons

"Constant updates mean the service is down sometimes, which isn't ideal."
"We can send emails from monday.com, but when it comes to the format, we don't necessarily want to always have the monday.com logos. We want to be able to make the emails we send out from monday.com, especially if they're coming from a specific person, look like they would if they were coming from our Outlook."
"The tool is beneficial for some businesses yet prohibitively expensive for others."
"Some boards are just buggy."
"The solution could use a more streamlined Google Calendar integration."
"I'm not such a fan of the infinite scroll to the right."
"One item we feel we is missing is more board templates that would allow us to work within the agile methodology."
"It would be nice to have more customization around the documents, such as different title headings, fonts, etc."
"Improvements can be made to accommodate sponsors who are not physically available in the same state. If sponsors are open to it, meetings could be conducted on an online platform to finalize deals more effectively."
"Reporting at the 20,000 foot level needs to be improved. I want to be able to see how many emails are opened twice vs three times vs four times."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's quite expensive when it goes to the enterprise license. Other tools like Jira cost 5 a month, and then their enterprise license is 38 a month, which is quite expensive for what we can do. It's £500 for a tool on a large enterprise. I'd have hoped that enterprise costs go down, not up. The pro license is £14, and then everything else is much more expensive, which is another barrier for us to adopt because other comparable tools are much more affordable when you have such a high multiplier as well."
"The product is not expensive."
"I wasn't involved with the licensing, but I believe it's negotiable."
"The project manager would be responsible for any licensing fees. As an end-user, we just follow suit."
"It was fairly reasonable. For everything we were using it for, it was fairly reasonable."
"Fees are paid monthly per user."
"I am using its free version."
"It's definitely affordable. I don't think it is necessarily the cheapest, but it's definitely not the most expensive. The price is well worth the value that we get out of it."
"Outreach uses a request-based pricing model. It's pretty affordable. They offer different packages for various scenarios, depending on how you're trying to develop your platform using Outreach. I think that's a good starting point. If our organization scales up or needs more services from the tool, we'd consider upgrading."
