Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Provides effective mobile security for small companies yet needs a clearer user interface and better support
We provide services to small companies with ten to fifty clients. It is important for us, as we operate as an IT company and system integrator, to deploy solutions like Sophos Mobile for mobile security and device management The features that stand out for maintaining mobile security are…

An MDM solution for device management and application control on devices
SOTI MobiControl is nice and powerful but has some complications. The interface is not easy. In IT, if you manage multiple platforms and systems, it becomes tedious and hard. Also, there are issues with phones supported by SOTI. SOTI MobiControl's support should be extended to a broader range of phones, especially in Africa, where many people do not have access to high-end devices. Investing in expensive devices that could be lost or stolen overnight is not logical. In addition to expanding device compatibility, we would also like to see the platform made easier to use and more control over settings.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This product works very well for companies already using the full Microsoft suite."
"It is very easy to use. It has a very easy interface."
"The reporting and analytics features in Microsoft Intune have been a lifesaver."
"The standout features of Intune are its excellent mobile device management and highly effective application management capabilities."
"I can reach devices or computers over the internet. I don't need to worry about the network connectivity between the offices. I can manage any device. That is the most important part."
"Microsoft Intune is reliable, scalable, and user-friendly."
"It supports end-users who tend to lock their devices quite frequently. Its conditional access policy helps us keep the users logged into their devices."
"Microsoft Intune simplifies device management by replacing the traditional method of installing OS, joining a domain, and configuring everything manually."
"The most significant features of Sophos Mobile include controlling user installations and managing features like the camera, which can be disabled or enabled."
"The management and enrollment process is great, and with the asset management and instant action menu, we can easily maintain and support the users."
"The remote management and cloud-based maintenance features of this solution are very useful for our organization."
"Sophos Mobile is efficient in threat detection."
"Sophos Mobile offers several valuable features, such as device tracking, allowing me to know where a device is located."
"Sophos can block the Wi-Fi connection on a mobile device. That's one feature we wanted, but the main thing is the ability to disable the device if it's lost or stolen. We need to shut down PayPal, so it can't be used to make unauthorized purchases."
"Deploying the solution is very simple and can be done in less than one hour."
"I like the level of interaction that the product offers with the other products in our company's environment."
"I have experience with technical support. They are quite good. Also, they very quickly understand the issues and what are the requirements from my side. Response time is also good."
"We can do auto patch updates using SOTI. SOTI has been well placed in terms of the number of endpoints it can handle."
"The most valuable features of SOTI MobiControl include location tracking, geofencing, remote device control, and SOTI self-service mobile browsers."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that I can manage my devices remotely."
"The other feature, that I have got to say is just leaps and bounds ahead of SOTI's competition, is the remote control feature. It's a true admin remote-control, so we don't have to have somebody on the other side of the device allowing us access to the device... We're able to pull up a tablet or phone and take pictures of it and we can actually videotape what's going on, on the device itself, and that's been huge."
"It is a scalable solution."
"One of the most valuable features is the ability to deploy apps on the fly. We're able to update and deploy new applications, directly from the cloud. That's been a huge feature for us. Instead of putting hands on each of these devices - and we're talking thousands of devices - we can manage it all from the backend."
"One of the most valuable features is the ease of moving items from one configuration to another; it's a Windows-like setup. Also, the admin console is very easy to manage and to move through."

Cons

"Intune could be improved by expanding its third-party patching capabilities for a more comprehensive solution."
"There are challenges with Intune, specifically in reporting. Many third-party companies offer single-pane-of-glass reporting that shows you what your update environment looks like, how your patch is doing, application status, etc., but Intune's reporting is not intuitive. You can connect to Azure, monitoring, and the workbooks, but it's not streamlined."
"Once it's configured it is unobtrusive, but it does take some hands-on to configure and deploy it properly."
"It would be awesome if Microsoft opened their API so we could filter more properties. If we have to do anything outside of Intune that requires a third-party solution to talk back to it, we're very limited in what we can do. Trust your people. We promise not to break your stuff. Open it up just a tiny bit wider."
"The solution's app deployment needs to be improved."
"I also hope the cost of Remote Help will decrease because it's a much-needed Intune function."
"The pricing could be improved."
"I find the price for Microsoft Intune too high, which represents an area for improvement in Microsoft's pricing model."
"The registration of the product during the initial setup has some issues, and it's not easy to get the quote. It's a bit cumbersome."
"The application might have issues with other software."
"I suggest improving the user interface at the admin level. Currently, it could be much better."
"It could be more secure."
"The product does not work well in iOS."
"They continue to work on integration with mobile device management and mobile security. They are improving the protection but I think that the capabilities still need to be enhanced."
"I noticed that the VPN aspect is not included in Sophos Mobile. To acquire a VPN for mobile, I have to subscribe to Sophos endpoint, which only works on computers."
"There's a need for better protection against hackers trying to access key accounts such as bank accounts."
"For the most part, the application deployment works well. Occasionally, when moving a gun, we'll see that we have to manually intervene, when working with the setup."
"Most of our devices are Android, they're Google related, so we need access from Google to do certain things. There are ways around that, but that's something that we're really looking for. How can we control the Apple Air? How can we get into that app?... How can we make sure that that app doesn't try to update in the middle of the day when our driver needs it?"
"If the interface was a little bit more intuitive, more easily allowed me to get to where I want to be, that would be a little bit nicer, as far as the file sync goes."
"SOTI MobiControl currently lacks some DLP features."
"There could be a feature for user ID management."
"I wish that I had some more tutorials and educational resources on how to use the product."
"They have legacy design architecture, and sometimes the support isn't helpful."
"SOTI MobiControl could improve by being more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Any bundle package, such as Security E3, covers multiple things, such as AAP, BitLocker, etc. If you go for them individually, they would be more expensive. Bundling makes the price more attractive and competitive."
"Microsoft Intune is pretty reasonable. We have difficulty with Azure, which is probably why we have not put many assets in Azure. Everything we put there is very expensive."
"Microsoft Intune costs about $7 per user per month, which is somewhat on the pricier end. That said, it's a reliable product, so it's fair."
"Pricing depends on the features. Microsoft offers special packages if there are more than 10,000 users, and you may be able to get a reduced rate."
"It's affordable. It's cheaper if you have an Office 365, E5, or E3 subscription because everything is there."
"Its price is fair. It's a normal price. It isn't too expensive or too cheap."
"We don't pay for Intune because it is bundled with the premium subscription to Office 365. It includes Intune and Defender. I don't have to buy two extra products to manage my enterprise."
"We have the business premium licenses for the solution."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
"Sophos Mobile is inexpensive."
"The product is not suitable for smaller companies because its price is high."
"Apple is starting to do beta testing with their own solutions and for much cheaper than Sophos Mobile's price."
"The licensing is paid on a yearly basis."
"My company needs to make yearly payments for the licensing charges attached to the product."
"The licensing fees are paid based on a one-year or two-year subscription."
"The product is reasonably priced at the moment."
"SOTI MobiControl is a cheap solution."
"SOTI is fairly priced. It's not super expensive. If you have a thousand devices that are licensed, it's going to start climbing up in price. Typically, it's like 25 bucks a seat for a year."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price, I rate the pricing a five."
"It's a little bit expensive."
"SOTI's pricing seems to be competitive."
"You need to secure a license on a per-device basis."
"It is an expensive product."
