Centralized endpoint security has improved and supports hybrid work and BYOD policies
Regarding what I dislike about Microsoft Intune and its downsides, I would say that more Mac controls are needed because we have limited Mac and Linux control. When comparing controls and policies between Windows, Mac, and Linux, Windows has almost everything you can think of, while Mac and Linux have limited types of control. You cannot implement certain things on Mac and Linux that you can on Windows. The limited controls are a major issue. Additionally, if Microsoft could find a way to embed servers into Microsoft Intune, that would be beneficial. Microsoft Intune is not really designed for servers or Windows servers. It is more tailored towards Windows 11 and Windows 10 operating systems. Windows servers are not fully supported. Enterprise organizations usually have both servers and endpoints, which are users' workstations. For servers, most people look for other solutions such as SCCM, which is Configuration Manager. However, SCCM is what Microsoft Intune is trying to replace. Both SCCM and Microsoft Intune belong to Microsoft. Microsoft is trying to transition organizations into Microsoft Intune, the native cloud solution. However, because this update is still in process, servers are not fully compatible with Microsoft Intune and cannot be managed by it. The current policy that has emerged from issues with clients is what they call co-management, which is relatively new, and I do not know if adoption is significant. Many legacy or older customers who have been using these products for decades still have SCCM. When it is time for them to manage their Windows devices, they use what is called cloud attach. Cloud attach is a term whereby your SCCM is connected to your Microsoft Intune. Most people do not know about it, but I have deployed it for several organizations. Cloud attach and co-management work together so that your device is in SCCM, but some policies are pushed from Microsoft Intune. It is like two different solutions working hand in hand. That is what they call co-management. Microsoft Intune does not bring all of your endpoint and security management tools into one place, which is the goal and how it should be. However, as I mentioned, servers are not included. If we talk about end users, Microsoft Intune does bring all your devices together. In a typical enterprise environment, you have end users with workstations, laptops, company-issued phones, and bring your own devices. You can create policies for all of these. However, for the backend, your servers do not have much coverage. Servers are not really covered by Microsoft Intune in that way.

Seamless provisioning and application deployment enhance workflow, yet enhancements in asset and software spend management roles are acknowledged
The zero-touch capability where you can install all the business applications and deliver the laptop to the user, who just needs to log on to complete everything without any human intervention, are the best features in Ivanti Neurons for MDM. We have security features, patch management, compliance reports, and dashboards integrated within Ivanti.

Mobile security has improved posture and now provides centralized control and secure BYOD spaces
An area I can suggest for improvement in Sophos Mobile is in the area of management; while it has been great so far, integration with more third-party solutions would also be a great improvement. Regarding functionality, I think an area Sophos Mobile can actually improve is by infusing more AI-integrated services and solutions into the product. The setup process for Sophos Mobile is not very cumbersome; to set it up, I just send the setup email link to the user, but the user still has some activities to carry out, and that may be another area of improvement if Sophos can enable the entire configuration possible from the management console without users having to perform activities.

Pros

"Microsoft Intune has positively impacted my organization by giving a centralized way to manage and secure devices across the organization, improving consistency in how devices are configured, updated, and monitored, and making it easier to support remote users as many management and troubleshooting tasks can be performed without needing physical access to the device."
"We are getting good compliance and we are able to save time, with workload reduction between 40 to 60 percent, and we are also getting very good security, which represent significant time-saving and money-saving aspects for the organization."
"Microsoft Intune's autopilot has been nice to have."
"The solution’s most valuable feature is its ease of use."
"The feature that we can deploy policies and configuration settings and it will be applied to every user who is connected to it around the world just with an internet connection is very good."
"If they have Office 365 or Azure, Intune is by far the best choice."
"The biggest asset is the range of device management options available with Intune, whether it is a Windows device, a Linux device, a Mac device, or mobile devices."
"It has a useful device management feature."
"We have very good technical support; when we had big issues, the support was fantastic, I have nothing to complain about, and it was important for us to have that level of security from the company."
"The company provides great customer service."
"The most valuable feature is that everything is in one place, which makes it easy to manage."
"The solution is good, it's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."
"MobileIron UEM is a scalable solution."
"The user interface is user-friendly."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"The most valuable features of MobileIron UEM are tunneling and enterprise integration."
"Deploying the solution is very simple and can be done in less than one hour."
"I recommend Sophos Mobile to medium-sized companies."
"Sophos can block the Wi-Fi connection on a mobile device. That's one feature we wanted, but the main thing is the ability to disable the device if it's lost or stolen. We need to shut down PayPal, so it can't be used to make unauthorized purchases."
"We can easily manage the devices because it's already in the cloud. For example, if any phone that belongs to the company is lost, we can easily erase the data."
"They always add more features to this product."
"The initial setup process is straightforward and fast."
"Sophos has good customer support, and that is crucial for sustaining business relationships."
"Sophos Mobile offers several valuable features, such as device tracking, allowing me to know where a device is located."

Cons

"Intune doesn't provide much control over Windows servers. It's something we struggle with."
"Intune has all the features enabled for Windows devices but needs to be improved on iOS and Apple devices."
"In future releases, I would like to see better integration with Apple products."
"My main pain point for Microsoft Intune is the contact part. Not all Android or iOS applications have access to integration, for example, contacts."
"I am not involved in the day-to-day with Intune, but we have gone with a different product for updating mobile device software. We do not integrate many of our mobile devices that are not Microsoft-based devices, such as Dell laptops, with Intune."
"However, I dislike how it lags sometimes. I cannot work on multiple processes at the same time."
"Its configuration is fairly complicated. You have to do quite a bit of discovery to be able to deploy it for a customer. You have to ask them a lot of questions. So, its initial deployment is the biggest challenge. They should make it easier to deploy with the use of Wizards or something else. During the deployment stage, there could be profiles for the customers who are particularly wanting to use certain feature sets of Intune."
"We have spoken to the technical support on a few occasions. They have only ever provided us with minimal information."
"The interface is complicated and not very easy to use."
"The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that."
"I also found the UI to be quite complicated to work with, so it takes quite a bit of time to train any new staff and to get them to understand how the solution works."
"UI needs an upgrade, feels very outdated."
"It was not an easy initial setup for us. It was a bit difficult and not really straightforward."
"We would like the initial setup to be simpler."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti. The test team or the testing procedures are flawed because they release new versions with numerous basic issues."
"The MDM, asset management, and software spend management are areas that could have more improvement in Ivanti Neurons for MDM."
"The security could be improved. It could be more secure."
"There's a need for better protection against hackers trying to access key accounts such as bank accounts."
"One area that could be improved is the compatibility with all mobile platforms, including iOS and Android, especially with the older versions."
"The technical support for Sophos Mobile requires improvement. I would rate it as five out of ten."
"Our support reps are based in the Philippines, and it's hard to connect with them sometimes. It took me about two months to resolve my issue, so it wasn't a good experience."
"An area I can suggest for improvement in Sophos Mobile is in the area of management; while it has been great so far, integration with more third-party solutions would also be a great improvement."
"We encounter issues while working with iOS."
"I noticed that the VPN aspect is not included in Sophos Mobile."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The purchase of the product was handled by someone else."
"I would rate the price a four out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"Microsoft Intune is included in the E5 license at no additional cost."
"The product is expensive."
"On a scale of one to ten with one being the cheapest, the cost of Microsoft Intune is a five."
"We use Defender ATP and E5 licenses."
"If you're ever going to buy an Office 365 environment, then pricing is reasonable given all that it does, but if you're not, then you might find the pricing expensive."

"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
