Clawback feature performs well but analytics and integration capabilities need improvement
The integration capability with other threat intelligence platforms is not optimal, as I have experienced difficulty in sending logs to our SIEM. Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense's flexibility could be enhanced while it mostly integrates with cloud solutions, but not on-premise. The behavioral analysis capability of Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense is not particularly helpful for identifying new, evolving threats within my company, as it keeps flagging legitimate emails as malicious. Regarding room for improvement, the significant number of false positives should be addressed. The solution does not adapt to behavioral analytics and does not make changes when it sees a pattern.

Centralized protection has transformed email security and incident investigations by reducing false positives and improving behavioral threat detection
The challenges include the challenge of finalizing a product that has all the security features or capabilities that are usually required. For example, if there is an EDR platform that's just monitoring IDS signatures, it won't be as beneficial as one with behavioral monitoring and other critical aspects required according to the best practices of the industry. Additionally, if there is a product that can provide a centralized view Trend Vision One does, it really grabs the customer's interest because customers usually don't have to buy separate EDR, XDR, or SIEM solutions or a console for their SOC analyst or email security team. These challenges consist of managing multiple teams and products. Trend Micro Email Security comes in and solves these problems.Trend Micro Email Security is generally a bit more difficult to implement compared to the rest of the solutions such as network security modules or EDR modules, which are much easier. Trend Micro Email Security has some complexities in implementation, but there aren't any significant shortcomings that require Trend Micro to improve.

Pros

"I would say it's very comprehensive, with multiple antivirus OEMs, virus encrypt features, encryption, and more."
"Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense's best features include user management of graymail, enhancing security awareness by allowing users to manage cold calls, sales-based items, and ensuring email compliance."
"It has an efficient email filtering feature."
"Secure Email Threat Defense's scalability is good."
"On ease of use, it rates very high. It's something that I was able to get into without really looking at any documentation. I wanted to see what it felt like before I started looking at any documentation on how to use it, and it was very easy to use. It works very smoothly. The user experience is very intuitive. They did an amazing job on that."
"The advanced threat analytics and URL filtering in threat detection are good features that are working well."
"Cisco has a threat mechanism called cloud-based Talos, where all the threats are inbuilt."
"I highly recommend it as one of the best choices."
"The interface is really good."
"The solution's initial setup process was easy since it was deployed on the cloud."
"Trend Micro Email Security is a robust solution with quick performance. It works autonomously without the need for an administrator."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the antivirus, antispam, and integration with cloud services. This is a multifunctional solution."
"The most valuable feature of Trend Micro Email Security is effective phishing prevention."
"The initial setup is not overly complex."
"Since implementing it, we've seen a significant improvement in security. We no longer receive spam emails, and we're protected from various cyberattacks, including ransomware and social engineering."
"Trend Micro has inter-domain security features that solutions from other vendors like Forcepoint lack."

Cons

"This solution could be improved by integration with Sandbox."
"Cisco's multiple product lines and verticals made this just one of their many verticals, and we could see a shift in focus."
"The pricing could always be better."
"Cisco Secure Email Cloud Mailbox can improve by adding advanced phishing, then the solution would become the best in the market. However, this could increase the price even more. Additionally, if CES with domain protection could be added it would be an even better solution."
"There is still room for improvement in terms of integrations with other Cisco tools and non-Cisco tools. There is also some room for improvement needed in terms of the reporting."
"The physical appliance has been discontinued, although the platform still exists."
"The product's complexity at times results in redundant rule sets that are difficult to untangle, highlighting the need for streamlined management systems and a more user-centric approach to system configuration."
"The behavioral analysis capability of Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense is not particularly helpful for identifying new, evolving threats within my company, as it keeps flagging legitimate emails as malicious."
"The company also needs to work on pricing because it is quite costly compared to other products."
"For support from Trend Micro, I would give maybe 20%."
"There is room for improvement in threat detection, especially for advanced attacks and business email compromise."
"There is room for improvement in mobile device management. The company also needs to work on pricing because it is quite costly compared to other products."
"The initial setup was straightforward. This is a virtual appliance, it takes a short time to deploy the solution. However, it is not difficult if you understand the technology. You must have good knowledge of the email security area to set up the product correctly. There are many features in this solution and a high risk of having mistakes with the configuration."
"What I dislike is that I cannot change the spam score. The only changes available are low, very low, and high."
"The time to answer is a long time. It takes maybe three or four days until we have the answer for a case."
"Sometimes malicious email gets past the email gateway."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cisco Secure Email Cloud Mailbox does not have any competition with Sophos, Trend Micro, or other vendors of the world. However, there is a pricing premium for the solution. One has to look at it from that angle that while they are buying Cisco, there will be a premium, and Cisco justifies that premium value. That's why they're charging a high price."
"It is expensive compared to other vendors."
"The solution’s pricing is manageable."
"The feedback from vendors and customer is that it is expensive."
"The price of Trend Micro Email Security is more than Sophos' similar solution."
"The tool must improve its pricing."
"It is expensive. The cost is per box, and it depends on how big your environment is. Prices range from 11 to 12 dollars for licenses and can fluctuate up and down, but for environments with 4,000 to 5,000 users, it can be between 6 to 8 dollars."
"The price is more accessible compared to some other solutions, like FortiMail. It offers excellent value for the price."
"Trend Micro Email Security is not an expensive solution."
"Price-wise, it is a cheap solution. I rate the solution's pricing a one on a scale of one to ten, where ten is expensive. Annual payments are made for the licensing."
"I rate the product price a six on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
"It's a VPN solution. Trend Micro is reasonably priced."
