What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery is to back up our virtual environment.
For our virtual environment backups, we mainly use Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery to protect our virtual environment and ensure we can quickly recover critical workloads if there is any failure. For example, recently we used it to back up a production VM containing application data.
In a recovery scenario, I can restore the VM or required data without having to rebuild the environment from scratch. This has given us an additional layer of protection against hardware failures, accidental deletions, or unexpected issues, and helps reduce potential downtime in critical systems.
Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery is deployed in our organization in a hybrid environment, protecting our on-premise and virtual workload with the cloud-based backup and disaster recovery capabilities.
For our cloud-based backup plan, we actually use our private cloud.
How has it helped my organization?
Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery has positively impacted our organization by giving us greater confidence in protecting our critical virtual workloads. It has simplified backup management, improved our recovery readiness, and reduced the time and effort required to handle backup and recovery tasks.
Using Infrascale has saved us time and effort; it has reduced the manual effort involved in managing backups. The automated scheduling and centralized console save time, while fast and simple recovery has improved our overall backup and disaster recovery process.
The unified dashboard saves us around one to two hours per week by making it easier to monitor backup jobs, identify issues, and manage recovery points from one place. It has reduced manual checks and switching between different tools.
What is most valuable?
The best features that Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery offers, in my opinion, are the automated VM backups, centralized management, and the ability to quickly restore just in time when needed. The disaster recovery capabilities are also useful as they provide an additional layer of protection for critical workloads and help to minimize downtime.
The centralized dashboard has really helped us in our daily work; it features automated VM backups, centralized management, flexible backup scheduling, and reliable recovery options.
I assess the speed of Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery's restore functionality as generally fast and straightforward. We can quickly locate required recovery points and start restoring VMs or specific data when needed, which helps reduce downtime during recovery situations.
Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery is relatively easy to use; the centralized console makes simple configuration of backup schedules, monitoring backup jobs, and managing recovery points. The overall setup and day-to-day administration require minimal effort.
It is very important for our organization that Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery is available via a single dashboard; having everything in one place makes it easier to monitor backup status, manage recovery points, and quickly identify any issues. It also saves time by reducing the need to use multiple tools.
I assess Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery's ability to restore data as reliable and straightforward. We can quickly locate the required recovery points and restore specific VM data when needed, which helps us reduce downtime.
I find Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery fairly flexible; we can adjust backup schedules, retention policies, and protection settings based on different workload requirements. This flexibility has made it easier to adapt our backup strategy as our environment and business needs change.
What needs improvement?
To improve Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery, enhancing documentation and providing more visibility during the recovery operation would make the overall experience better.
The support side could definitely be improved as that could be really great.
I would give it an eight because I would like to see further improvements to the management interface, reporting, recovery visibility, and support side to make it a ten.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery for over two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery is stable so far.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery is quite scalable for our needs; it has allowed us to add and protect additional virtual workloads as our environment grows without a significant increase in management complexity. The centralized management also makes it easier to handle a large number of workloads.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support is good, but I think it should be improved.
The response time should definitely be improved.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used a different backup solution. We switched to Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery mainly to simplify backup management, improve centralized monitoring, and have more straightforward recovery and disaster recovery capabilities along with better pricing.
What was our ROI?
We have seen a positive return on investment through reduced manual administration and improved recovery readiness. The unified dashboard saves us one to two hours per week, while automated backup and simple recovery have reduced the effort required from our IT team.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding pricing, the pricing and licensing were relatively straightforward, and the setup cost was reasonable for the capabilities provided. The licensing model is flexible enough to scale with our environment, but having a more transparent pricing option would help with planning and budgeting.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery an eight on a scale of one to ten.
Regarding Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery's AI capabilities, I think it takes a sensible approach to AI governance and security. The key areas for us are data protection, access control, and transparency around how AI capabilities are used and process data. Strong security controls and a clear governance policy would help build further confidence in using AI features.
Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery's AI capabilities provide generally accurate and useful information, particularly for monitoring and application insights. The output has been reliable for day-to-day use, but I would still recommend validating important recommendations before taking critical recovery or security actions.
I would suggest to a colleague at another organization considering Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery to look at the overall value rather than just the upfront price. Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery can reduce manual backup management, provide reliable recovery options, and help minimize downtime. For us, the operational efficiency and recovery capabilities make the investment worthwhile.
I would recommend evaluating Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery based on your specific backup and disaster recovery requirements. It's worth considering its features such as centralized management, automated backups, and straightforward recovery capabilities. I would also suggest doing a trial or proof of concept to ensure it fits your environment before making a decision.
