Price and reliability need improvement while general tasks are streamlined
The pricing for Microsoft 365 is too high, and quality-wise, it does not meet high standards. The operating system is outdated and inadequate. Microsoft has very poor security, and Defender is ineffective. In terms of collaboration and file sharing, OneDrive is very clunky and has frequent sync issues. It also crashes a lot and is unreliable.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The platform is stable and easy to use."
"It is easy to use and user-friendly. Its performance is also good."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of use."
"I like that Microsoft 365 Business is very easy to use. It's a very good solution."
"Microsoft 365 Business is stable."
"Microsoft 365 Business integrates well and improves communication, cooperation, and security."
"It's great that one user can log onto many different devices."
"We've found the stability to be very good."
"The tool's most valuable features are document storage, security, and compliance."
"Being able to tag metadata on documents and being able to have different workspaces in there for our documents is valuable. We do loan documents, and different types of documents have different types of retentions. We are able to categorize based on that, and we are able to do tag searching to find what we are looking for."
"Being able to search is valuable. Its search is pretty powerful. We are able to search for specific text, and it points us to the document that has that text. That is pretty powerful."
"Smart Viewing videos are most valuable for the end users. The end users like the look and feel of Smart View. It's similar to SharePoint, with the latest HTML5 features, filters, and everything. It's like online shopping."
"We also have a module on top of the Content Server called WebReports that has been one of the things that helped us facilitate the workflow and give managers good reporting and visibility into where everything is. Being able to use that on top of the Content Server was a big help."
"The ability to add metadata and use that to categorize information is a valuable feature of OpenText Extended ECM."
"It's a very good solution."
"The integration of a document management platform with many other applications, e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors, Salesforce, SharePoint, etc."

Cons

"They can improve its price and make the way of sharing documents more secure."
"The cloud performance and the ability to work remotely are actually not very good. I prefer to work on-prem on my laptop. The quality is better."
"The solution is overall stable. However, while using Teams there can be some performance issues during meetings."
"It should have better pricing. It is a monopoly product for Microsoft, and I don't think they will change the pricing. They do not offer any discount."
"Lacks some additional features."
"There are some security issues with the platform, and its security should be improved. We have to re-enter the username and password sometimes, which is quite boring for us. The usability of Outlook can be improved. Currently, it is a little bit limited and old-fashioned. They should think about the concept of dealing with emails in Teams. Teams and Outlook together will make it a complete platform. The Teams application is not user-friendly on mobile phones and should be improved."
"The price could be better."
"The licensing price could be better."
"The response time is not effective, and the staff lacks adequate knowledge."
"The annotation tool needs improvement. In other tools, such as Hyland OnBase, you can easily do annotation. You can easily merge documents. You can easily compare documents, whereas with OpenText, it seems to be a challenge."
"I have not used it enough to start running into issues. Some of my technical guys could name a couple of things, but in terms of support, we did have challenges getting good responses from them."
"The tool's documentation is not proper and has missing information like steps."
"User interface needs improvement (at least in the version we are using, desktop client)."
"The cost of the product could be improved."
"The solution needs to improve the user interface."
"The initial setup can get really complicated, and it takes time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing fee is paid yearly."
"If you go with Microsoft, they will give you 80 GB in advance and all those kinds of features. They will also keep asking you to go from E1 to E2, E2 to E3, and now E5. Their prices are high, but as long as the organization is happy to pay and your emails are working seamlessly, it shouldn't be an issue."
"The price of this solution is expensive and the price could be reduced. The licensing cost is very high because we are using an E5 license for Microsoft."
"The solution is not very expensive."
"Pricing can always be improved."
"The price is fine."
"Microsoft 365 Business is expensive."
"I think that the price is fair."
"OpenText Extended ECM is an expensive solution."
"Both Open Text ECM and IBM File share are expensive."
"The licensing is not that complex for the core products, but it becomes more complicated for some additional modules."
"The product is pricey."
"The tool's pricing is confusing to the end customer."
"OpenText Extended ECM's pricing and licensing are aggressive and confusing for the end customer."
"The solution is expensive."
"The total cost of the product will vary on the capabilities required"
