Zero-touch deployment is the most valuable feature because many organizations have employees working from home
The initial setup is easy. The deployment process for Jamf Pro involves several steps, from initial preparation to completion. First, it's crucial to assess the client's specific needs and advantages of the product. Finalizing terms and ensuring compliance with security standards may take a week or two. Once the client accepts the terms, license procurement usually takes a day or two. After obtaining the license, the installation and training process begins. This includes configuring Jamf Pro according to the client's requirements and providing necessary training. Depending on the complexity of the setup and any additional requirements, such as software upgrades, this phase may take around a week or possibly longer. Considering the various stages involved, the deployment process can take approximately a month or more to complete. I rate the initial setup a nine out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.

Can be used on any device and works really well on stand-alone systems
I have been using Microsoft 365 Business for document functions, and finance-related tasks, and Excel for calculations and accounting purposes. Additionally, PowerPoint comes into play for creating presentations It has helped us to work collaboratively. We can now connect a user to work with us…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We can put certain devices into smart groups based off of device name, department, etc."
"Automated Device Enrollment workflows are great for zero-touch deployments, vital in the current global context. With Automated Device Enrollment workflows, we can deploy new Apple devices directly to end-users without help from the IT support team."
"Automating the refresh of the devices is huge for both sides of the end-user experience."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to manage all devices through Apple's DEP and forcing them into Jamf pre-stage enrollment."
"I am most excited about a feature that is called User-Initialed Enrollment."
"The ability to put a device into a lost mode state that will report locations as it checks in has allowed us to retrieve so many lost devices."
"We found the initial setup to be simple."
"Smart groups and just the way MDM works are valuable. We like all the features that they have. We try to use it as much as possible, and then we have the support and community involvement to reach out to."
"It is on-cloud."
"The solution has been easy to use and is very user-friendly."
"The packages provided in the solution enable my company's team members to carry out their daily tasks."
"Microsoft 365 Business is stable."
"The initial setup is easy to implement and deploy."
"The platform is well-integrated with all Microsoft products."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of use."
"Microsoft 365 Business is stable and scalable, and the installation is straightforward as well."

Cons

"I would like to have the ability to push scripts using MDM commands."
"If I had to suggest an area of improvement would be the UI. It can be very all over the place and complex."
"The product is pretty good as-is, but if anything could be improved I would say the UI could perhaps be a bit simpler. A mobile app to complement the web-based version, to perform specific tasks, would be nice to have - a good example of what I mean is the "Pulseway" MDM for Windows, they have a very useful and user-friendly mobile app."
"The patch management is not automated in any way, and you have to do a lot of manual work to upload the current version of applications."
"This solution would benefit from more focus on Self Service, such as Office 365 and GSuite integration."
"The solution should offer beta testing for new products."
"The upgrade process of this solutions could be improved. It is not possible to use Jamf Pro to upgrade devices."
"They need to alphabetize payloads."
"It would be ideal if the solution offered a free version. Currently, there are only paid options available."
"The solution is overall stable. However, while using Teams there can be some performance issues during meetings."
"I thought that Skype was a part of the product's offering, however, it's my understanding that that is not the case."
"The installation should be supportive of and able to integrate with Linux."
"I would like to see more integration in the next release."
"There are some security issues with the platform, and its security should be improved. We have to re-enter the username and password sometimes, which is quite boring for us. The usability of Outlook can be improved. Currently, it is a little bit limited and old-fashioned. They should think about the concept of dealing with emails in Teams. Teams and Outlook together will make it a complete platform. The Teams application is not user-friendly on mobile phones and should be improved."
"The solution could be a bit more mobile-friendly."
"I'd like to see a more customizable interface. We're used to seeing Office 365 with a white background and black foreground, and I'm aware that you can customize 365 to change it to a black background. but I want more options aside from the standard settings."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost of this solution is expensive but worth it."
"If you have the in-house capability to support Jamf, then paying for onboarding / JumpStart training is a no brainer."
"I think it pays for itself to let Jamf host the server."
"The setup is pricey upfront for support and setup."
"With respect to pricing, Jamf Pro is the better bet."
"It seems fair. It could be a little bit less, but you have to pay for a product. You can't get something for free. You get what you pay for, so if you put in a little bit of money, you're going to get a good quality product."
"The setup cost is in the training, which is the most important step of your journey."
"The price of a training pass for five people was $18,000 USD."
"The price of its license should be improved. We have a contract for three years, but we pay on a yearly basis."
"There would be licensing costs because Microsoft 365 Business requires a product key and a license to be present in order to use its products."
"It's pretty difficult to make a cost estimation, in cases where we need additional features."
"Microsoft 365 Business is inexpensive."
"The solution requires a license which is expensive."
"Given the current COVID situation, I am quite happy that we use this product. With a cheaper solution, we might end up needing support."
"We pay a monthly licensing fee."
"We are on a monthly subscription for the use of Microsoft 365 Business. There is an additional fee for support."
