We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Performance appraisal might be the most valuable feature for us.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the payment engine.""The support team were friendly and work in a systematic way. When contacting support you are able to add a level of priority to your case which is always respected by their team.""The tool provides a lot of options.""The performance appraisal is the most valuable feature.""The most valuable feature is you can customize every type of payroll calculation that you have.""The most valuable features of Meta4 are payroll and resource recruitment. However, all of the features in the human resource system are useful.""The solution has a great payroll engine."

"They provide the most stable and powerful technology in the areas of human resources, information systems, and ERP.""The user interface is the solution's most valuable feature. It makes it easy for us to use.""Customers can create custom infotypes to store any custom data points.""HCM is a very important module that each organization should want to use. It will help any organization to calculate and control the cost of their human resources.""SAP HCM can handle a large number of employees. We can easily process payrolls and check the arrangements, and the client can also check the performance of the employees. Additionally, it has some advanced features.""The most valuable feature, in my view, is the level of exceptions or error messages that come back when something goes wrong.""It's very suitable for large, multi-geography companies but also very suitable for medium companies with multi-geography operations.""I think HCM was the most stable for me...It is a very scalable product."

Cons
"The HR portal, training model, and the development career model all need improvement.""I would like to have recruitment and acquisition features added to this solution.""training and performance could be improved.""Meta4 could improve by allowing users to manage things by themself.""The solution is a little bit slow.""The user interface could be improved and the maintenance is complex when it comes to upgrades.""In future releases, it would be useful to see reporting lines of all the team members in our business to understand who reports to whom.""The HR portal, training model, and development career model could all use improvement. Stability and scalability should be improved as well."

More Cegid Cons →

"I would like it to move more towards a single data space, a single data source. SAP as a platform relies on multiple data sources because traditionally, it's been bolted together by the acquisition of other products rather than a single database. That's why there are lots of points of failure and lots of required points of integration. They need a single integration point.""The product's license is very expensive.""Reports need to be added on the time management side.""SAP is not ready to sell the license on time and delays the progress of projects. It's better to work with a competitor like Oracle. Those that are selling the product just go through powerpoints and don't have the knowledge necessary to sell. They can't answer any questions.""The implementation of the solution can be a bit difficult. They should make it easier. If it could be as simple as the SuccessFactors implementation that would be ideal.""The solution is rather expensive.""SAP HCM cannot integrate with other third-party applications. One of the drawbacks we encounter with SAP HCM, specifically in payroll management, is the limitation regarding changing payroll areas within the same month. For instance, if an employee transitions from staff to non-staff status during the month, we face difficulties because the system doesn't allow us to change the payroll.""System usability is a challenge."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "Licensing is pretty complex. SAP does not have a straight forward way of licensing, and it differs from client to client."
  • "The terms on which you buy licenses might change due to the way they license in a particular product."
  • "For implementation, SAP offers little support unless you buy SAP Safeguarding from SAP Consulting."
  • "Be careful and guard against future changes in licensing."
  • "In my view, this product is a waste of money for SMB because there are much better products available and licensing is an issue."
  • "You pay per license. There not any costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
  • "SAP is extremely expensive. The integration costs and customization costs are also a lot."
  • "SAP is expensive, but if you're using the product, then the expensive product becomes inexpensive. Considering its performance and features, I find it quite reasonable."
