Video library is a great tool and it enables good customization; feels a little antiquated and rusty
I like that recordings are available immediately, it's a great feature. I also appreciate being able to use the video library as a tool, and the integration of an API with other systems we have. We were able to build our own customer portal and then integrate into GoToWebinar with a seamless interface. People thought they were on our platform, but they were using GoToWebinar. Those are unique features that seemed to be very easy for our development team to integrate. I like that aspect of it. It also provides good visibility if somebody had seen a webinar that was useful. It's very easy to push them out. Registration is an easy process as is customization on the back end. We very rarely had technical issues running the webinars so it's a pretty robust platform overall.

Simple to set up, reasonable pricing, and useful remote control capabilities
I'm on the latest version of the solution. I just updated it yesterday. While we have the solution on-premises at this time, we'll likely move to the cloud later this year. They have a trial version that you can try. They have a free version that you can try as well. I use it myself to support my family. I would try the free version or the trial version depending on your business. They can set you up and you can get to see all the features. I would also advocate going to the cloud version. Don't bother with the on-prem. It's just easier to jump to the cloud. I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Overall, this is a good product that is simple to use but I would rather use Webex for video conferencing."
"The interface is browser-based and simple, which is an advantage over other solutions."
"This solution is very reliable. It is easy to switch between audio and microphone when using headphones."
"All of their features are good. They are more or less equivalent to the competition. There's less disturbance, less jitter, the voice is always good even at a low bandwidth."
"I can extract the activity and the attendance reports, along with every single question that was asked during the webinar, which is a feature that we highly value."
"The most valuable feature is scheduling, which is quite simple and you can schedule a regular session with multiple occurrences."
"We were able to build our own customer portal and then integrate into GoToWebinar with a seamless interface."
"We use GoToWebinar to do live pitch webinars and sales webinars, we use it to create all of our courses as well, we do training courses and our business pretty much revolves around using this tool for most of what we do."
"I've noted an ROI while using the solution."
"It's much easier to use ProtectWise Control than to use, for instance, TightVNC or VNC Viewer."
"Better than TeamViewer and useful for fixing problems remotely."
"I previously used TeamViewer and Chrome Remote Desktop, and ScreenConnect beats out both as it's easier to use than Windows Remote Desktop (outside of a local network) and it's less expensive than TeamViewer."
"Ease of use is good, it's very easy to use, very easy to understand."
"At first, we switched because of the better price but now we are are using this product happily."
"We are more efficient at resolving end-user tickets as a result of implementing this product, with our ticket count lower and our ticket throughput increased because now we just click a button to connect and we're off and running."
"I do love the monitoring page. If you are using ConnectWise Control, which is the on-prem version, when you are logged into the admin panel, there is a status page that checks network connectivity, the status of the license, and so on."

Cons

"GoToWebinar would be improved with the inclusion of support for video endpoints."
"The platform feels old and a little rusty, more could be invested into the look and feel of it."
"It's a little pricier than the others."
"In comparison, I don't feel that GoToWebinar has the range of customization and it feels quite antiquated in comparison to Teams."
"The chat window and using polls is easier in Zoom than compared to GoToWebinar. Make it simpler and easier to publish polls on the fly would improve the solution."
"Some of my friends also use GoToWebinar to collect clients for affiliate marketing. In those cases, they found some features were missing with respect to some of the competition. And the worst part is the price."
"The technical support is quite bad."
"The sharing of cameras is limited to meeting organizers."
"Setting up permissions and groups in the portal is NOT simple or intuitive by any stretch."
"The ability to autolock Windows desktop on remote computers after a remote session disconnects would be ideal."
"The only slowdown I've seen is when quality settings are set to high - and this is primarily on Windows 10 machines that show a picture on the lock-screen prior to the password entry screen."
"There can be some complexities when running patches or when building up all the profiles, making them areas where improvements are required."
"Support for PAC files on the guest's side and support for proxy on the host's side. Currently, there is no support for guest-side PAC files or for the host-side proxy (which uses authentication)."
"Something that I would like to see in the future is mobile video streaming."
"The file transfer function could be a little more robust for multi-file transfers."
"My immediate supervisor said it was lacking in documentation and had too many words to describe how to use the product when crafting instructions to send to our third party consultant who was going to connect to our system behind our firewall."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a monthly subscription and the price is quite expensive if you're not paying annually."
"This is a free solution."
"We pay an annual licensing fee."
"Pricing is fair for Control and the licensing is simple."
"ConnectWise Control is not an overly expensive tool. Its pricing is reasonable."
"It is priced well and it is still a great value. Although I have been reading a lot about Splashtop. They are getting pretty competitive on their pricing, including a fairly easy to use remote support for mobile applications, like iOS and Android."
"We pay $3,000 USD for the service, yearly upfront."
"For the price we pay, we definitely feel it's worth it, but there are some contenders in the market that are coming out now, whose products are as good; they are offering more features and the price is actually less than ConnectWise. All things considered, the biggest thing is the lack of patching in ConnectWise. If they could integrate that into the product, that would be a game changer, if offered at the same price point."
"Make sure you have enough licensing for all the techs that you have."
"I think the product's pricing is a good value. I paid $600 a year and that was fine for me. It was about $50 a month. Licensing is all very straightforward."
