Easy to set up, excellent support, and simple to use
Pros and Cons
  • "It's a stable, reliable product."
  • "I haven't come across any missing features."

What is our primary use case?

Right now at the company, we have a few projects in Visual Analytics. We have more in Qlik, however, gradually, we will change to SAS Visual Analytics.

What is most valuable?

It's very good. Very good. For our use, it is better than Qlik. It's easier to use than other competitors.

It's easy to set up for the most part.

It's a stable, reliable product.

The solution can scale.

Technical support has been great in general.

What needs improvement?

I haven't come across any missing features.

For how long have I used the solution?

While I've used SAS for about seven months, I've worked with data science for about three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's very stable. There are no bugs or glitches. the performance is good. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution can scale. It's not a problem.

We have 50 people on it right now, approximately. I'm not sure if we have plans to increase usage.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support has been excellent. We are very happy with how helpful and responsive they have been.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are also familiar with Qlik, however, this solution is better for us in general. We've also worked with Tableau. We've found the integrations with SAS better.

How was the initial setup?

We haven't found the initial setup too difficult. I'd rate it three out of five. So far, the deployment has taken about two months.

We have two or three people working on the deployment and maintenance.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the implementation in-house.

What was our ROI?

While I can't speak to the exact price, likely after one year a company would begin to see an ROI.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't directly deal with licensing. I can't speak to the exact price of the product.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options. We did look at SAP, however, we focused on SAS in the end.

What other advice do I have?

I'd recommend the solution to others. I would rate it ten out of ten. It's been great.

Business intelligence solution that has improved automation and provided meaningful insights
Pros and Cons
  • "This solution is easy to learn how to use."
  • "This solution does not have tabs. In order to have tabs, you have to download an add-on to mimic the tabs. They should be integrated to improve the solution."

How has it helped my organization?

We did not have a BI tool previously. We used spreadsheets, complicated pivot tables and macros. Using Sisense, we were able to get rid of those complex Excel sheets, improve the automation of the company and produce meaningful insights.

What is most valuable?

This solution is easy to learn how to use.

What needs improvement?

This solution does not have tabs. In order to have tabs, you have to download an add-on to mimic the tabs. They should be integrated to improve the solution.

We have also experienced bugs in the widget which has required us to delete the widget and recreate it.

When one user adds filters to data, the next user sees the same results which can cause confusion. The next user can also make changes to the data.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

They have a very good customer support team. We have biweekly meetings with them and they are very helpful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

This solution is more expensive than Tableau, Qlik and Dundas. It is an expensive tool. They charge $75,000 while Tableau is $45,000.

What other advice do I have?

We are moving to a better tool. Technologically speaking, Dundas is ahead of other solutions on the market. The most impressive thing about Dundas is that if you have a graph, you can select a segment of that graph and drill down into the detail. You can make comments on the graphs for easy discussions.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Good data handling, and community support, but it's overpriced and the interface needs improvement
Pros and Cons
  • "Data handling, visualizations, and aesthetics of it are the most valuable features."
  • "When compared to Power BI, it is less user-friendly."

What is most valuable?

Data handling, visualizations, and aesthetics of it are the most valuable features.

What needs improvement?

When compared to Power BI, it is less user-friendly.

The interface needs a major overhaul.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Tableau for eight to ten months.

We are working with the latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Tableau is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

There is technical support available, but it is not as comprehensive as Power BI, because obviously, it's a Microsoft product, but you can find some useful information. The community is good, but outside the community, help is scarce.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is a bit overpriced. They could decrease the price a bit.

When compared to Power BI or Qlik, Tableau is overpriced when you go with creative licenses.

What other advice do I have?

Before implementing Tableau, It would be better if they looked at Power BI instead. They offer everything that Tableau does, but in a much more user-friendly manner, with much more support, and at a lower cost.

I would rate Tableau a seven out of ten.
