Has helped orchestrate processes and integrate workflows across cloud environments
I recommend ServiceNow Orchestration for larger companies because they have the capability to manage complex environments where it performs better. I promote low-code solutions for these implementations. I don't currently have an idea regarding the pre-built integrations of ServiceNow Orchestration, but I plan to check my area to determine what added value it can bring. I would rate this solution a nine overall.

Boosts operational efficiency with flexible workflows and reliable cluster management
We currently use vCenter Orchestrator's pre-built workflow templates for our IT processes. The templates are flexible, allowing us to create and convert processes simply and manage patches. Regarding integration capabilities, we do not integrate any third-party tools. We exclusively use VMware products. The integration within the VMware infrastructure is limited to Single Sign-On (SSO). I have not created any workflows in vCenter Orchestrator as workflows are only used for change management. I have not encountered any drag and drop interface. The version control and logging features of vCenter Orchestrator have significantly improved the reliability of our automated processes, particularly during upgrades or patching to the cluster-wise. Previously, it would be done on a one-to-one cluster or one-to-one host basis, but now we only need to monitor it for upgrading or patching the entire cluster. I cannot comment on the pricing and licensing of vCenter Orchestrator as these aspects are managed by our onsite counterpart. Overall, I rate vCenter Orchestrator 8 out of 10. The rating reflects occasional delays in support response times and portal stability issues.

"This is a user-friendly solution where scripts can be made with ease, and there are many integration options, including Microsoft products, which gives the product a competitive edge."
"I use it to orchestrate processes and integration features to gather and update data during specified timeframes or exchange data in real-time when changes occur based on certain criteria."
"There are a lot of features in VMware that are very useful, actually."
"It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
"Snapshots and similar features were managed well."
"vCenter Orchestrator's best features are the workflows, integration with third-party applications, and the workflow library."
"The most valuable features are the graphical UI for designing the workflows and the interfaces that come out of the box."
"We have excellent technical support. They have always been helpful when we have needed them."
"Communication with technical support is very good. It has a repository of knowledge base articles which we can access which are very helpful."
"The solution allows us to manage multiple VMware in a single, vCenter, console and it is very useful."

Cons

"There is still room for more integrations. Or, it would be nice to bundle multiple products together rather than selling everything as a model as that turns out to be a bit costly."
"If I compare the interface of ServiceNow Orchestration with Boomi, it is easier to use Boomi than ServiceNow Orchestration."
"There can be gaps in integration."
"From my space, the only thing that I can say is the spinning up with Google Cloud Services."
"It is a highly complex platform to work on."
"The third-party integrations are challenging when the tools are not from ServiceNow partners. This presents issues when integrating solutions from other vendors."
"We had a few use cases where we couldn't find solutions in Orchestration and had to go with the publishers to solve them."
"We have found some gaps in integration because all of our customers require niche tools."
"It is too expensive. One of the main issues is the price."
"As we work towards more stability on the solution, sometimes we'll try something and it breaks and it's easier to restart the service. That's the only drawback. We've experienced this with other applications as well."
"I would like to see a greater ability to do mobile administration."
"The product lacks GUIs. The tool should have more GUIs available, along with easier product documentation."
"The price of this product is high and could be improved."
"VMware tools would benefit from more automation. When installing our devices and servers, we often need to install the VMware tools manually. This process should be automated during the VM installation process."
"We would like more flexibility in sizing data storage and virtual machines, as the current options aren't very adaptable."
"Storage has room for improvement. It's a big problem for our solution. The interface also needs improvement, it should be simplified."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing is custom to every customer."
"It is not very expensive."
"This is an expensive product, but it is the best in the market considering the features and lack of competitors."
"The solution is costly and orchestrations are very expensive."
"The cost of the solution is based on the number of plugins, conductors and integrations used and is charged annually. The licensing cause has been increasing gradually which makes it difficult to access. Initially offer free features but over the time the charges rise which make it an expensive solution with limited features. Along with that, the integration issues persist and require additional middle where and internet connectivity for effective usage."
"ServiceNow doesn't give a clear cost indication. They have different contracts with different organizations and it's all about negotiation, so you don't know how they are doing at the cost level."
"It is quite expensive because we've had some customers come back and say it's quite pricey because in order for them to go ahead with Orchestration, they must have already been paying for Discovery, service mapping, and a few other things."
"In terms of price, this solution is at the higher end of what you'll find."
"The solution is a bit expensive."
"The price is reasonable, and one of the reasons that this product was selected."
"The concept of hyper-convergence is smart. I don't know if it can be applied with less cost to be more affordable for small or medium-sized companies. The cost is a very important factor for it. We are currently depending on SAN storage. However, the hyper-converged solutions are depending on the storage within the hosts, such as vSAN in the VMware. It is a smart solution."
"We pay a yearly fee, based on our entries."
"The product is expensive."
"We renew the solution's license every one or two years."
"The licensing cost is manageable because they have different versions available, standard, essential, and advanced."
"My organization didn't have to pay extra for vCenter Orchestrator. It was already included, so it's basically free. Even VMware regular support is included."
