Precise incident handling has improved reporting and searching across complex security cases
I would like to see new features added, particularly regarding the incident upgrading part. For instance, if you have an instance and need to transfer it to a particular team, being able to show that the status is still in progress, which is currently in a beta version, would definitely help people to understand that the status has changed for the incident.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are network mapping and configuration."
"If you want to understand your network environment as it relates to configuration issues, host/node vulnerabilities and firewall configurations, then I highly recommend that RedSeal be considered."
"The most valuable feature I enjoy that is provided by this security analytics platform is the ability to measure resilience."
"The Vulnerability and Risk Management feature is valuable to us for keeping the security posture up-to-date and conducting regular continuous audits."
"The most valuable feature of the product to me is being able to ask what-if questions about traffic flows, which is a great ability to have for security and incident response."
"RedSeal integrates the network and gives us a visual or graphical overview of our network. If an organization is geographically dispersed, for instance, with one office in Canada and one office in the Philippines, the whole network, including all devices, is integrated into RedSeal, and you can see from where the traffic is going in and out."
"RedSeal helps you prioritize and allocate your scarce human and capital resources where they have the biggest impact to protect your most-valuable digital assets."
"Overall, I am very happy with the way the product is working."
"ServiceNow Security Operations collects data from various sources and presents it in a single, respectable format for assessment and action, providing a unified user experience where all work and fixes can be managed from one location."
"We refer to the setup and installation guide provided by ServiceNow. They have good documentation, which makes it easier to handle the process."
"I will recommend it to others as it is an enterprise application used by large companies for ticketing purposes."
"This product is a good value for the money."
"It gives you the ability to bring data into the system. The workflows are out of the box, and it gives you the ability to auto-assign the incidents based on criteria and vulnerabilities."
"It streamlines processes; it collects data, takes that data and turns it into information, and allows you to manage through dashboards and work lists, improving every facet of the overall process."
"It has helped optimize security costs by consolidating multiple tools into one platform."
"Multiple projects use the ServiceNow tool because it is a low-cost and open-source tool."

Cons

"Its interface is not user-friendly and needs to be improved."
"One of the areas of concern is the GUI. It is important to our customers that the GUI looks beautiful. It's a Java Client, so you have a Java dependency."
"There is room for improvement in integrating the OT security part and the private 5G security part in RedSeal."
"Initially their level one support was very frustrating to work with."
"There is room for improvement regarding customization and automation of reports."
"Integration with other security tools. Have the ability to create custom reports: Currently, within RedSeal you only have the option to run the canned reports."
"The network mapping/visualization could be improved significantly."
"Although we are talking about a very robust platform, I would like to see the Windows compatible VM version come back."
"An area for improvement I observed in ServiceNow Security Operations is the need to maintain correct CMDB data because if you're unable to do this, you can't perfectly maintain the vulnerability data. CMDB data in ServiceNow Security Operations needs to be accurate. As I've been working on ServiceNow Security Operations for only seven months, I still need more time to try all its modules before I can give recommendations regarding additional features I'd like to see in the solution."
"In future releases, I would like to add a follow-up and reminder feature. For the tickets in our queue, we could set reminders. This would help us prioritize older tickets before moving on to new ones."
"The dashboard and playbook creation will need to improve"
"Customer awareness and understanding of ServiceNow's SecOps capabilities could be improved."
"It would be ideal if there were already integrations available in ServiceNow with third-party tools."
"Process framework and best practices for ease of integration between IT and security teams via incident, problem, and change."
"The solution needs to make customization easier. You cannot do much customization immediately. It requires an extensive workload. If the customization process was user-friendly, it would be much better."
"ServiceNow Security Operations is not specifically a vulnerability management or incident tool, but rather a data aggregator."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is based on the number of endpoints and devices, and we have seen it range from mid-five figures to low six figures."
"Compared to competitor tools, ServiceNow Security Operations is more affordable"
"This product is a good value for the money."
"It is an expensive product."
"If you're going to implement it on your own, there would be internal costs. If you're going to implement it through a contractor or consultant, you have to pay for that."
"The solution is more expensive than BMC Remedy, the other ITSM tool available in the market."
"The product is more expensive than other solutions."
