Provides video calling facilities with good video and audio clarity
Polycom RealPresence Clariti is very bad when moving towards the cloud. I think that Microsoft Teams and Zoom have already taken over the market. Polycom is currently looking into more end devices than server components and infrastructure. A cloud version would have been better, but that will not be feasible for Polycom now. It would have been helpful to have a cloud version during the migration stages, but now the time has gone. As a company, it's better for Polycom to look into the video conferencing devices rather than the infrastructure. Earlier, one of the advantages was that the infrastructure was very much open, and it was easy to integrate the tool with other platforms like Cisco. That is not the scenario now, and Polycom should concentrate on the endpoint hardware devices.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I find the ability to follow the calls, the call flow, the ability to look at the history, and more on the fault-finding tools to be valuable."
"It does a good job of integrating with other software."
"It's on-prem, which is great."
"The most valuable feature is its integration with solutions like Zoom and Teams for endpoints. The picture quality is high, and the conference sessions are stable."
"Some proprietary Polycom features include speaker tracking, acoustic fencing, noise cancellation, active noise cancellation, and noise cancellation AI."
"I like WebEx's stability and ease of use. The screen-sharing tools and audio controls are also nice."
"You can configure whatever you want in great detail."
"I am completely satisfied with the tech support."
"I never had any issues with the stability of the product. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The product's initial setup phase was very easy."
"The product improves team collaboration in our company since it integrates with Microsoft Teams or other vendors."
"The product's initial setup is easy."
"One of the most valuable features of Webex was that it was easy to use and there were no hassles."

Cons

"Could have a wider range of use cases."
"The only issue we have is with some of the bridging stuff, particularly with respect to DTMF and outgoing calls."
"The most valuable feature is its integration with solutions like Zoom and Teams for endpoints. The picture quality is high, and the conference sessions are stable."
"Polycom RealPresence Clariti is very bad when moving towards the cloud."
"The customer needs this platform to be a little bit more customized."
"Cisco could maybe make Webex more integrated and compatible with other platforms."
"In terms of features, it would be beneficial for Webex to focus on improving its chat functionality to make it more user-friendly. Additionally, enhancing communication operations to create a friendlier user experience would be advantageous. Other individuals who have tried using it faced challenges when attempting to share content with third parties during conversations or meetings."
"This solution would be much better if we could install an endpoint and have centralized management."
"There were some latency issues that could have been addressed if they had a data center in our location, e.g. the African region."
"My biggest issue with the solution involves its price, which I find to be prohibitive for small governments and modest-sized schools."
"Usability needs improvement. Webex is more complex compared to Zoom."
"Webex is clunky and it's hard to use. It's not simple. Webex is probably the most user-unfriendly of all of them. Whenever you're trying to get on it, it's an absolute pain."
"Webex could be improved by having a password-protected system. I don't remember there being any passwords for the meetings, but, presently, Zoom has meeting protection."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Polycom RealPresence Clariti is definitely more expensive than others in the market because of its high quality."
"We purchase the product's yearly license. It is expensive."
"Licensing is subscription-based and the cost varies depending on how many minutes are included in the plan."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"Price is the one area where Webex needs to improve relative to its competitors. It's difficult to sell to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) because of the license price."
"There is a need to pay the licensing charges to use Webex Enterprise Edition."
"There is a license needed to use this solution."
"Webex is very expensive."
"This is an expensive product compared to Teams and it should be cheaper."
