Has connected financial data across departments and improved future cash flow planning
I would like to improve the integration with other solutions, as I need everything integrated, like the HR module, purchase module, SCM, production, and engineering. Each and every module should be connected to the finance module, and I think Oracle provides the right solution. Also, SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 offer some solutions, but I am not as happy with them as I am with Oracle. I believe that Oracle E-Business Suite could improve by transitioning from Java-based scripts in our system to a web-based environment. While Oracle already has JD Edwards available in web-based format, I think it needs to be smoother for optimization and presentation in the future. In comparison, IFS is fully web-based, and all applications are sufficiently good and user-friendly. We are developing and trying to improve to a web-based setup, but it is currently too costly.

Allows for storing comprehensive employee information
The most valuable features are employee historical information and reporting capabilities. Sage People is a comprehensive system that allows for storing a lot of employee information. Apart from basic details like name and surname, you can add links to other employee information such as cloud or team accounts, medical aids, and pension funds. You can also store historical data like position changes and salary increases. This information is valuable even for inactive employees. The reporting features are also very valuable because, on top of 300+ reports available on the system, you can also customize quite a number of reports. So you can even build your own reports on top of the internal reports out of there. And on the reports, you have legally compliant reports available. So you won't even have to copy it. The auditors will give you a sample for reports. Those reports are already available in stage three and video group modules.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Accessing vital information on the dashboard: I can customize summarized reports to be available on the dashboard."
"Employee Central and the core HR functionality is exciting!"
"What we like about Oracle E-Business Suite is that we didn't find any issues with it."
"At our various customers, the software tends to pay for itself in less than two years."
"Oracle is a decent, robust solution that has been tested and used for many years. It can do everything."
"The most valuable feature of Oracle E-Business Suite is the customization."
"It was easy to set up the product."
"I like the automation and integration features of Oracle E-Business Suite."
"It is easy to see all the information we have for a person across two screens, and reports are easy to run, view, amend, and add."
"Compared to the other system that we were using, I think Sage is more friendly. As an administrator, Sage's dashboard is visually friendly and many tasks are easier to accomplish. Another feature that we've liked since we started using Sage is the reporting. With the other system, we needed to configure a lot of things manually when it came to reporting, but with Sage the reporting tasks are much simpler."
"The solution's initial setup was straightforward."
"The report builder and dashboard builder are very, very good."
"The product is really easy to customise and configure, and the automation has enabled us to manage several HR processes at the right time in the correct manner."
"We are now able to visualize global team structures, and as we rollout other features, the organization will benefit from an easy to use system and standard processes."
"Compared to the other HR systems I have used in the past, I can say that Sage is in my top five when it comes to recommendations."
"The most valuable feature of Sage People is the integration with our payroll system."

Cons

"Although all the modules are integrated with each other into E-Business Suite, sometimes when you apply one patch for Accounts Receivable, for example, it can damage Accounts Payable."
"Oracle tends to be slower when it comes to bringing flashy functionalities than other, smaller entities can deliver."
"It doesn't make any sense to communicate with Oracle about what changes should be made to the system."
"Since we are hosted, we can’t do rollouts ourselves. We have to schedule them. A lot of our issues have been with our patching, since our hosting partner always seems to break something, which is frustrating."
"Movement to the cloud should be supported. Product support still needs to be improved."
"They don't have built-in bank integrations, which would be very helpful."
"The biggest frustration I have with Oracle is that they have taken an acquisition approach. Because of this, the modules don't talk to each other."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is hard and takes six months to one year to implement."
"The automation in Sage People could improve. The solution is the best used for data storage but the automation could be better to have more functionality."
"There is a mash-up of Visualforce and apex triggers which bear down heavily on the system."
"There were a couple of things that we wanted to customize, but we couldn’t do it ourselves."
"Right now, Sage doesn't seem to have what we are looking for when it comes to managing HR tickets. In my previous experiences with other HR software, we had to buy another solution to obtain this functionality, and it would be a great feature for Sage to consider adding. For an HR system, Sage would do very well to include it."
"In comparison with other HRIS reporting tools (like Discoverer / OBIEE for Oracle, Business Objects, Crystal Reports etc. which I have used extensively for over 10 years), I think that Fairsail’s reports functionality is quite limited and only available for Administrator profiles."
"The product lacks several features available in more mature products."
"Within the absence screens, we have it set up to automatically allow up to five days holiday to carry over. If staff members are allowed to carry over, it’s a bit difficult to add it in easily."
"Right now, Sage doesn't seem to have what we are looking for when it comes to managing HR tickets."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In my opinion, the prices for Oracle ERP are reasonable, especially considering the various discounts that are often available."
"At our various customers, the software tends to pay for itself in less than two years."
"In order to minimize the implementation and consultancy costs, business lines should have proper definitions. They need to have a proper way of retrieving their data, which should be structured well."
"Whatever the products you use, you'll be paying a yearly maintenance price or a support price."
"The solution is quite expensive."
"Licensing is on a yearly basis. There is an initial cost, and the standard fee is 22% per year."
"Oracle prices are better in Vietnam and more flexible. If we need to customize something in Oracle, it's very flexible and easy to customize."
"Products concerning areas like CRM and ERP should provide value at lesser costs to customers, especially if you consider that the initial cost of implementation is high."
"Its cost is moderate for a multi-group licensing model."
"I believe we pay licensing on a yearly basis, but I can't comment on the total amount that we pay on licensing."
"We have to purchase the solution's license to use it."
"From an SME standpoint, I wouldn't necessarily describe it as expensive. However, for the average startup, it may not be affordable since our current annual expenditure on the system, which supports approximately 210-220 users, amounts to approximately £15,000 to £18,000."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The cost of Sage People varies depending on the financial resources of the organization. While it may be affordable for middle-level companies, it may be more challenging for young companies to bear the cost."
"I think it's reasonably priced. But in comparison to other systems, I would choose them over Sage People, regardless of their prices."
"There is other software on the market that can do similar functions to Sage People that could be better in price. Some solution allows you to do your payroll processes by month or by the process. Small companies could benefit by using another solution."
