Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Has improved analytics and reporting but needs better integration and support
To improve IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for the next release, there should be more integration with external systems, and more integration with IBM's data and AI platforms is needed. There is an AI part in IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for Machine Learning, but IBM has another platform specifically for data and AI, which is integrated right now. More features are hoped for in the future.

Using Python in Robocorp enhances performance
In terms of licenses, there is a return on investment in that area. Other products are charged based on the licenses. However, Robocorp is not doing it that way. They are charging based on a run basis. Therefore, in that way, the company might benefit in terms of license costs and the return on investment, considering what they are putting in and what they are getting out of it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We are able to sell it very easily compared to its competitors. Another piece is the stability part. The third piece is something which is the customer experience: The ease to work with it. The Automation Anywhere, as a partner, is very easy to work with. They are there when you need them, whether you are in the initial journey of automation, you are figuring out what is the right opportunity, or whether you are in the journey of deploying the bot or support. They are there with you at each of those stages."
"The time savings are valuable."
"The error handling and troubleshooting are very good, and it is easy for a developer to know what happened in any particular line of code."
"We are using it to backfill a lot of our resources who are retiring, so we are hiring less people as we go."
"The solution helps with reducing operational costs, which can be reduced by up to 30% to 40% in savings in terms of operational cost."
"The Capture command has been a lifesaver for me in each of my use cases and the advanced Excel functionalities like running macro, reading and manipulating data, etc. It allows the bot creator to leverage the inbuilt functionalities that AA2019 has to offer to a great extent."
"This product is easy to use, and it helps business users to more easily understand RPA."
"We found that RPA with additional AI capabilities, such as machine learning and Computer Vision, can enable the organization to augment existing business operations by creating efficiencies and improving the accuracy of data to be processed, without changing too much of the existing system."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to automate mundane tasks. This improves efficiency, reliability, etc. You can form critical operations which can be highly automated."
"The solution is very user-friendly."
"The solution's ease of use is its most valuable aspect."
"Deployment is done in a small amount of time."
"IBM RPA helped us resolve a lot of difficult cases we could not resolve using other solutions."
"The quality is great! It's very strong and has a very strong platform."
"I like the integration with Watson and the possibility to have an intelligent reading of all the customers' documents."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"The price is good."
"Robocorp is based on Python, so you can use Python scripts and create libraries for your use cases. Building libraries and custom scripts for a particular client and general use cases is easy. We can reuse those scripts for other clients, so we start seeing benefits quickly."
"I like the fact that it's very fast. The processing speed is good, and that's what matters to me. I also like that we don't have to bother with the infrastructure setup. We don't have to care about the status of the data set, as I believe the local group will provide it. We don't care about the licensing model. We only have to care about how long we are using it."
"It supports Python runtime because of that, runtime also improves."
"It offers high scalability and enables automation in ways that haven't been possible before."
"Time complexity is reduced and the execution speed is much higher."
"The ability to create separate organizations on this platform makes it easier to bill each of the clients separately."
"The solution is based on Python which makes it very valuable."

Cons

"Bringing a DevOps model for bot implementation integrated through private bot store might be a good idea to improve the tool."
"With Automation Anywhere, it took us a bit of time to stand it up initially. We tried to do it in a virtual environment, which caused us a bit of headache. It could have been smoother in this aspect."
"I would like to have a bot as a service platform on AA Cloud."
"The version that we are using has been difficult for us to code. As changes are very frequent, we have to make sure the code can be updated automatically so we don't have to make a change every time a user makes a change. Then, the user doesn't have to update us and we don't have to push a change to production. We have found a workaround with the help of the Automation Anywhere support people for this."
"I suggest having more ways to perform string manipulations and string operations, instead of just what is pre-defined in the V11 tool."
"Integrations should be included with the analytics platforms and third-party SAP, enterprise-level applications, as well as if there are any built-in connectors where you can connect with the ERPs to automate the required teams."
"When it comes to Citrix automation, AA should improve or add more features in such a way that all the commands should work when automating a Citrix application."
"Reliability and error handling should be improved."
"My impression of the support experience is lower than middle. I would rank it as that. They need to improve their support by having more experienced level one support."
"One of the things I would definitely like to see is more of the machine-learning and cognitive capabilities."
"This solution is still evolving. It is going through the rounds right now."
"I would like it to do pretty much everything out-of-the-box without any need for any customization. However, that is not the case right now. We absolutely have to do some amount of customization with the solution in order to use it out-of-the-box as-is."
"We would like a decreased need for customer support."
"The pricing of IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) could be improved."
"The scalability of the solution can be challenging."
"From my point of view, the RPA from IBM is not yet in touch enough with the clients. They are not taking the client's perspective into consideration, and they don't guide them enough throughout their journey to RPA."
"The standard libraries in Robocorp should be more advanced."
"I preferred the user interface in the older versions. When troubleshooting, it's sometimes hard to find details about where things went wrong. You need to search a little harder. It takes more clicks to get to where you want to go. It can be somewhat confusing. When you run a process that fails, it takes you somewhere you may not expect."
"We use the latest version of the process studio and it takes up a lot of CPU storage. In our case, this has been up to 14 GB of storage."
"The deployment process is complex and not straightforward, especially for legacy modernization."
"An additional feature I'm looking for in Robocorp is SAP automation."
"It would be better if it were more user-friendly for non-technical users. It would be better if they had some drag-and-drop features to create logic."
"They should fully develop Robocorp Studio because it would attract a lot of people to the Robocorp platform."
"The platform's documentation could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In the Indian market, I feel that for mid-size companies, such as ourselves, that having multiple bots costs a lot. If Automation Anywhere wants to expand in the Indian market, they will need to look at their pricing."
"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"We have a few licenses. They cost roughly $10,000 each."
"Automation Anywhere's pricing is significantly higher than other RPA solutions."
"In terms of pricing, it's not at all cheap, and that's a concern. The licensing cost is very high. While I don't know the exact prices of other tools, Microsoft offers the lowest pricing for its RPA platform compared to UiPath and Automation Anywhere."
"The licensing cost could be improved. It costs a lot. At the very least, the developer licenses and the control panels should be made free to enterprises, and the production environment licensed."
"There may be room for the product to be more competitively priced to excel in the market."
"They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
"IBM RPA is cheaper than other tools."
"The pricing is reasonable."

"The product is reasonably priced compared to other tools."
"The product has a yearly licensing fee."
"I rate the pricing ten out of ten. So, the pricing is very good for me."
"There is a free trial for one month, so you can use it to run your payloads or proof of concept. After that, you can pay for the license on a monthly or annual basis."
"In terms of licenses, there is a return on investment in that area."
"The solution is a very affordable price."
"The pricing is fine."
"The price is cheaper than other competitors. I would rate the cost as one out of five."
"It's a cost-effective solution."
"Robocorp is much better in terms of pricing compared to UiPath."
