Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Has improved analytics and reporting but needs better integration and support
To improve IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for the next release, there should be more integration with external systems, and more integration with IBM's data and AI platforms is needed. There is an AI part in IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for Machine Learning, but IBM has another platform specifically for data and AI, which is integrated right now. More features are hoped for in the future.

Using Python in Robocorp enhances performance
In terms of licenses, there is a return on investment in that area. Other products are charged based on the licenses. However, Robocorp is not doing it that way. They are charging based on a run basis. Therefore, in that way, the company might benefit in terms of license costs and the return on investment, considering what they are putting in and what they are getting out of it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ease of use is the most valuable feature. It's very easy to use, so to get started, you don't really need hardcore development skills."
"Courses on Automation Anywhere University are very easy to learn."
"Automation Anywhere and even previous versions, which I've worked on, have good core functionality. The core functionality of being able to automate and build a solution that is local and low code is one of the key differentiators that's allowed us to find success."
"Automation Anywhere has lots of features, some of them are accuracy increases, time consumption reduced, scalability. Automation Anywhere does not require a strong knowledge of programming languages. The dashboard is user-friendly."
"Automation Anywhere has provided the capability to automate repetitive tasks for the organization, which in turn has lead to a lot of cost-savings."
"It has helped us to save a lot of FTEs for our solutions that we have provided to our companies. Suppose a job which was done by a group of eight to nine people on a daily basis for 24 hours was taking a lot of time, so we created a bot with Automation Anywhere. It was done with a bot working 24/7. It reduced the numbers of guys required to do that process."
"I'd say the most impactful and heavily or commonly used ability of v11 and A2019 has been the ability to integrate other code types and operations within the process."
"It has allowed us to generate additional revenue without having to hire additional people."
"IBM Robotic Process Automation has greatly improved the organization by improving the speed of performance, as the speed of the robot is estimated to be 20 times faster than the human being."
"One of the most impactful features of IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) has been its one-time setup capability."
"IBM Robotic Process Automation is very easy to use."
"I think simplicity is key. One of the things that we've noticed is how our developers have been able to quickly adopt the platform; but not only the developers or the techy people, also the business."
"IBM RPA helped us resolve a lot of difficult cases we could not resolve using other solutions."
"The solution's ease of use is its most valuable aspect."
"Speed is definitely the key here, and in six weeks you can actually take a robotic solution and move it all the way into production while keeping your existing systems and teams working the way they are right now."
"Put IBM on top of your list because we have done the analysis."
"It supports Python runtime because of that, runtime also improves."
"I can use it as a library by importing Python scripts, allowing me to access its many features while working with coding."
"The price is good."
"Time complexity is reduced and the execution speed is much higher."
"I have worked with UiPath and Automation Anywhere previously. Robocorp offers an improved development style and support as well as flexibility of its tools. You can easily develop custom libraries in Robocorp."
"It offers high scalability and enables automation in ways that haven't been possible before."
"The product has a valuable business process automation feature."
"It's easy to deploy bots via the API helper in Control Room. Robocorp's debugging features are also robust. It shows you a lot of data."

Cons

"The main issue I identify is that the cost of the enterprise-scale license and add-ons can be a barrier for small businesses."
"The expectations of what we thought was possible, versus what appears to be possible, were a little bit off."
"I suggest having more ways to perform string manipulations and string operations, instead of just what is pre-defined in the V11 tool."
"Pricing with respect to the competitors is more."
"While using IQ Bot we found that data extraction accuracy is a bit weaker in semi-structured documents compared with structured documents. We would like to see improvement in the data extraction part of Automation Anywhere IQ Bot."
"Their OCR is a bit expensive, meaning the IQ Bot."
"I would like the support to be faster. Their response time is one to two days. Their customer care could be faster."
"The IQ Bots need more out-of-the-box models to lessen the time required for model training. Their competitors provide more built-in models, which enhance capabilities in document processing."
"This solution is still evolving. It is going through the rounds right now."
"The pricing of IBM Robotic Process Automation (RPA) could be improved."
"IBM RPA is an unstable solution."
"We can use its inbuilt activities, and it's a complete package, but just like ElectroNeek, a limitation is that we have to depend on its inbuilt activities. We can't include our own activities or we can't introduce other activities."
"I would like to improve the efficiency of this solution and the Surface Level Agreement."
"The time it takes for approvals, and risk analysis could be faster."
"The scalability of the solution can be challenging."
"My impression of the support experience is lower than middle. I would rank it as that. They need to improve their support by having more experienced level one support."
"I preferred the user interface in the older versions. When troubleshooting, it's sometimes hard to find details about where things went wrong. You need to search a little harder. It takes more clicks to get to where you want to go. It can be somewhat confusing. When you run a process that fails, it takes you somewhere you may not expect."
"There are certain libraries in Python, such as those dealing with PDF automation and word files, that require the presence of certain external dependencies in the environment to be successfully used."
"It would be better if it were more user-friendly for non-technical users. It would be better if they had some drag-and-drop features to create logic."
"The platform's documentation could be better."
"The standard libraries in Robocorp should be more advanced."
"I don't like the complexity of deployment."
"Robocorp is still in development, so most of the keywords are a bit confusing. I have to alter lots of automation steps between processing and development. However, Selenium is due for an update soon, and Robcorp is addressing some of the limitations caused by the previous Selenium version."
"We would also like an integrated PDF reader and better integration with custom solutions. The built-in Excel customization is limited, but we can still accomplish what we want using Python. We must rely on Python to customize processes in Robocorp. I don't know about the latest IDE from Robocorp, but the old one doesn't have a lot of activities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We brought onshore a lot of what we were doing offshore, saving our company close to $20 million."
"Automation Anywhere is somewhat expensive. The prices are slightly higher, but if you need something, you must pay for it."
"Pricing is a bit high when compared to other available tools; however, the tool is worth the cost."
"They recently launched a Community Edition, which is okay, but they should have done this a long time ago."
"Automation Anywhere's pricing is significantly higher than other RPA solutions."
"The pricing that we received from Automation Anywhere in the beginning was very economical for us. We've seen a lot of benefit from what we spent to what we're receiving. From the beginning, it's been a very low-cost implementation for us."
"Additional costs will be for the machines and the number of machines that you are using. You can deploy virtually as well as on physical machines. In both the situations, you do need to allocate a certain budget for securing the machines and where the software will be installed and running. The machines cannot be used for anything else, because only a certain bot can run at a certain time. You need to be very particular about your scheduling of running the bots, and while the bot is running nobody can use the machine. You cannot have an agent working on a machine and the bot running in the background. It has to be completely dedicated. Then there are the network bandwidth requirements and space requirements, which are additional costs apart from the licensing and software costs. The developer is also going to charge you for their coding time too."
"The licensing needs to be made simpler or shortened."
"The product is reasonably priced compared to other tools."
"IBM RPA is cheaper than other tools."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"I rate the pricing ten out of ten. So, the pricing is very good for me."
"There is a free trial for one month, so you can use it to run your payloads or proof of concept. After that, you can pay for the license on a monthly or annual basis."
"The product has a yearly licensing fee."
"IBM licensing is annual and based on Virtual Processor Cores (VPC). This provides flexibility as part of the containerization environment."
"The pricing is reasonable for this solution."
"In terms of licenses, there is a return on investment in that area."
"You don't have to pay for the license. You have to pay for the time you use it."
"The solution is a very affordable price."
"The product has good pricing."
"The pricing is fine."
"The price is cheaper than other competitors. I would rate the cost as one out of five."
"It's a cost-effective solution."
"Robocorp is much better in terms of pricing compared to UiPath."
