Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Ability to segregate data, well-suited for medium enterprises and installation is quick
We have some challenges. If we look at the challenges we face in the market, there are a few products like Sophos, where there are features of MaaS360, and the IBM EDR product, ReaQta. So, there are features from both ReaQta and MaaS360 available in Sophos, as well as a few other products, which we have challenges in replacing. MaaS360 definitely caters to a few of the requirements, but when someone is going for a solution, all the features are not available in MaaS360. It is like a combo, MaaS360, and IBM ReaQta, that is, EDR, ReaQta. Both of them, together as a combo plan, actually offer a very good proposition in terms of market competitors. There are a few products like Sophos and another product which have features from both endpoint detection and response and mobile device management. Because we have two different products with those features, we face challenges in proposing a particular product for the client. It is like a marketing challenge. The way other competitor products are available in the market. So it is better to have a different positive team, but, again, to remain in competition and have better scalability. So, IBM needs to integrate a few features that the competitors have in their products. No doubt, this is a different product, MaaS360. We call it MDM. We call it endpoint mobile device management. Then we call it different names that MaaS360 falls into. But when we are talking about competitor products, to remain in the competition, you need to have features that others provide. IBM surely has those features in other products, but not in MaaS360. The only challenge was replacing already existing competitor products with MaaS360. So, that’s the only area where we struggle because they always come with those requirements that they are already getting in the competitor’s product, which is not available in IBM’s MaaS360. So this product lacks some features, like Unified Endpoint Management.

A security solution to manage devices with patching and remediation feature
The solution needs a complete overhaul or makeover. It gets stuck sometimes because they're focusing on the cloud UEM stuff rather than paying as much attention to that particular piece. The ease of use could be improved. It combines many different functionalities that you would need multiple servers like SCCM. If I wanted to train people, I’d move to a higher level from an Apache architect. There are five or six different products. So, training functional staff to use the product can be challenging because it can sometimes be cumbersome. Reporting is challenging. We use Avanti extraction to report off an endpoint. We don't use the reporting because of the need for more functionality, granularity, or customization.

"Mobile Device Management, Secure Productivity Suite, and document management are valuable features."
"All features that we have deployed are useful. We do access office emails on our smartphones, and we have complete sync with Active Directory. Our calendar also gets synced in the MaaS360 application. We also ensure that the data from these official applications is not being misused by any of the employees. We have disabled cut, copy, paste, and all such features. It ensures that all the official data that our employees have on their smartphones is secure. Security is the paramount feature that we value in this product."

"The product has good stability."
"The most valuable features of the solution are accessing the data through the mobiles and meeting with the compliance for security best practices."

"Patching and remediation are the strongest features."
"It provides security features for unified endpoint management."
"The most valuable feature of Ivanti Endpoint Security for Endpoint Manager, which my company mainly uses, is patching. Another valuable feature of Ivanti Endpoint Security for Endpoint Manager is that it allows you to view the inventory list of the different machines."

Cons

"The product needs to upgrade itself when the server is overloaded."
"At this time, I do not have any areas for improvement. I have heard about some downtime, but I am not in the local IT team."
"It would be great if Intune offered better data protection controls for BYOD Windows PCs."
"There are a couple of issues with stability."
"Not all technicians are knowledgeable of the Microsoft solution, so they have to work on that as well."
"The scalability could be improved, and like most other MDM products, Intune is good but not 100% there yet."
"The reporting functionality of Microsoft Intune is limited compared to Microsoft System Center, which offers many more reporting options."
"Integration with Mac devices requires some improvement."
"The solution needs to offer live technical support. Right now, it's just a chat window and it's rather unhelpful."
"User interface is basic and not very intuitive."
"The interface is clunky and the layout is a bit outdated. Also, I don't think MaaS360 has as many features as Intune. It doesn't integrate with Office as seamlessly as Intune does, which isn't surprising, given that Intune and Office are Microsoft products."
"The product needs to improve tech support."
"The user interface could definitely use some improvement."
"Zero day support is something they can work on. They can make it a little bit more user-friendly."
"IBM MaaS360 needs to have stronger points when it comes to the area of BYOD."
"Sometimes IBM MaaS360 seems buggy...The solution's technical support team is sometimes slow to respond and not competent enough."
"The solution needs a complete overhaul or makeover. It gets stuck sometimes because they're focusing on the cloud UEM stuff rather than paying as much attention to that particular piece. The ease of use could be improved. It combines many different functionalities that you would need multiple servers like SCCM. We don't use the reporting because of the need for more functionality, granularity, or customization."
"When you open a new mobile, you automatically come onboard the mobile on the Ivanti platform but it needs some improvements."
"One of the features that Ivanti could improve is patching for non-Windows settings, such as Linux and Ubuntu."
"Ivanti Endpoint Security for Endpoint Manager's support provided to its users by the vendor is one area that needs to improve."
"An area for improvement in Ivanti Endpoint Security for Endpoint Manager is reporting. It's lacking. For example, Ivanti Endpoint Security for Endpoint Manager reports should tell you if the agent is up to date, if the security patch is updated, etc."
"The product's blocking definition needs improvement."
"If I want to integrate the solution with any other solution, pushing the policies from the Ivanti side is a bit tough."
"Some of the GUI features need improvement. In particular, navigation could be better optimized for quick navigation by the user."

"IBM products are a little pricey."
"On a scale of one to ten, where ten is the highest, and one is the cheapest, I rate its pricing a five."
"The licensing is based on assets for MDM or EM, where you need one license per asset. The license is annual, and it is not very expensive."
"The solution is pretty expensive."
"The product is expensive."
"The pricing is relatively high compared to some competitors."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is low and ten is high, I rate the solution's pricing ten out of ten."
