Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Integrations such as the one for Slack have helped us receive updates on tasks immediately as they occur by other team members.""The most valuable aspect of the solution is the fact that we can make the tool as we want, in the way it is the most useful for us.""monday.com is easy to set up.""Automation is great.""The ability to export to Excel has been huge for us.""It saves me from having to interrupt my team to get simple answers I can look for myself.""Since we've incorporated Monday.com, we've dropped fewer balls, greatly improved our ability to cover for employees while they are out, and keep our sales team and account coordination team all updated in real-time on each project.""The coolest thing is the way the files or documents can be uploaded to subitems."

"It is stable and easy to set up.""Stable Kanban style tool for collaboration and task management. It runs smoothly and has a straightforward setup.""Asana allows you to create your own project with sub sections with subtasks that can be assigned. The feature I really love is that you can tag people to notify them that there has been progress on a project as well as add attachments.""It's an easy way to communicate.""The initial setup is straightforward. It was just a few clicks to get started and to integrate Asana into our existing business system. It took 15 days to fully implement our projects using Asana.""The ability to share projects and tasks among team members appears to be the most valuable feature.""The general UI shows progress and data analytics for all projects in progress.""What I like most about Asana is its simplicity. For example: we're not the only ones using it, and we onboard our customers to it, and normally, they have no questions."

"The most important feature of ServiceNow IT Business Management is flexibility.""It's a very complete solution.""The resource manager is useful.""We like the status report feature. It is something really valuable.""The most valuable features of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management are the multiple methodology possibilities for projects. It has hybrid, traditional, and Agile capabilities. Additionally, the solution integrates well with other platforms, such as Microsoft Azure.""Everything is valuable. It is tough to choose a particular feature, but project portfolio management along with agile 2.0 are two key product features that I would suggest for services companies like us.""As a product, the primary reason we like it is it gets integrated with our ITSM solution so that we don't have to go for an external product for project management like Jira.""Competitive in terms of research"

Cons
"I would enjoy my own personal board on Monday that only I can see.""The tool is beneficial for some businesses yet prohibitively expensive for others.""The key limitation I face is that I don't find the tool to be fully intuitive as more time is required for me to learn how to use it optimally.""The permission settings require workarounds for some use cases.""Monday.com has tons of features and capabilities. However, you’ll need to upgrade your plan to actually benefit the most from these tools.""I'd like better CRM integrations.""The mobile application of the solution can be improved by making it more user-friendly.""There are minor bugs that delete information or don’t autosave information placed. It doesn’t happen often, however, when it does it is inconvenient."

"There could be some improvements in terms of how projects or day-to-day work is organized. One of the challenges when it comes to rolling out to an enterprise is the way the projects are organized. It has a kind of setup where you have different projects and tasks, but it is not as organized as Smartsheet when it comes to organizing projects or different teams. It can get really cluttered really fast. JIRA has another suite to submit the support tickets. It would be good if Asana could branch out to incorporate some kind of workflow. It is great for collaboration and recording work, but there isn't any workflow. It would be useful if they can map out a workflow of who approves what. This is kind of a big ask, and it is not geared towards that.""In some instances, there were subtasks where more than one person needed to review it, but I could only assign it to one person. I would have to create a subtask under a subtask and then assign it to other people. This could be improved.""Their workflows and automation could use a big improvement. I don't even know if they have anything in that regard right now. I would really love to see a way where you can send custom alerts based on a task's completion or status change or an approval coming through. I would love to see a way to get some low-code functionality into Asana because right now, that is a big miss.""It's hard to integrate Asana into other parts of the company workflow, so integration is an area for improvement.""We tried, but we haven't been successful with it. If people don't have the training, it is not easy to use. You need to make sure that the people are trained to use the system. They can provide more resources in the form of webcasts and videos that people can use to train themselves and understand how to use it.""We have not used Asana on our private server. We have been using the cloud solution. We need an on premise solution for government agencies.""You need to have an action plan, otherwise, it won't be as effective.""For large teams, scalability should be improved."

More Asana Cons →

"It could be more user-friendly.""A major improvement we would like to see is definitely around agile management.""We track salaries or paychecks of the resources. They change from time to time, such as every six months or every year. If they can come up with a default or out-of-the-box feature to manage those multiple payable costs so that we can automatically calculate the project costs rolled up. That would be the coolest feature that we can expect from ServiceNow. We would like to have an automatic feature to manage the payable costs. We should be able to manage or maintain multiple pay costs so that while calculating the project roll-up costs for individual projects, the respective pay costs in a particular period are picked up automatically from the backend. Currently, we have to customize that. It is doable. We have done it but through customization.""When we import a really big project with a lot of tasks on it, we face some issues with dependencies. The links between tasks are not working very well. There is definitely room for improvement there. Microsoft Project, in my opinion, is the best option for such a use case.""The price is too high.""ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management could improve by having more Agile features. Other solutions, such as Rally have more.""The price keeps going up, and to remain competitive, it needs to have a competitive edge. I would like to see more of the latest innovations, in terms of AI, ML, and all of the latest cutting-edge technologies, included in the platform.""ServiceNow IT Business Management could improve by adding better artificial intelligence."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I wasn't involved with the licensing, but I believe it's negotiable."
  • "The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately."
  • "The project manager would be responsible for any licensing fees. As an end-user, we just follow suit."
  • "Fees are paid monthly per user."
  • "The price is reasonable for the number of users we have."
  • "I am using its free version."
  • "We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale."

  • "It has a free version."
  • "There is a free version of Asana, but we use the paid version to receive all the features we want. The overall price is reasonable."
  • "Its price is fair. Its licensing cost is cheaper than Microsoft Project. I would rate it a two out of five in terms of pricing."
  • "For what it brings to the table, I think Asana is fairly affordable. I would like to see the portfolio feature in our pricing plan, but other than that, it's definitely pretty good."
  • "We're on the business tier, which is $25 a month if you're on an annual contract. It's $31 if you're on a month-to-month contract. In my experience, there are no hidden costs with Asana. I know Smartsheet has these add-ons that you can buy, which is an additional cost, but Asana doesn't have any add-ons that I know of. When you're trying to scale the product and want to add users, you have to do it in buckets of five. This is also something to consider."
  • "This solution is reasonably priced."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable."

  • "They sell some things in bundles, and it could be handier that some of those things could be sold in another way, like purity models and other packages. Another thing that I'm struggling with is the pricing of ServiceNow's FYE experience, which includes the tools that are positioned for supporting HR."
  • "It is a little expensive. We are in Brazil, and for us, it is a little expensive."
  • "The solution could improve by being less expensive and the pricing model is confusing. Many people are getting charged different amounts. There are additional fees that they are adding on."
  • "We have a team of about 6,500 employees across the globe. So, the amount of money I'm going to save by putting the money on the table for the implementation and licenses is very high."
  • "The cost of the solution should not be more than $50,000 annually."

    Reviews from Real Users

monday.com stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its task status feature and its ability to integrate with external apps. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

Ben D., Front End Developer at a marketing services firm, writes of the product, “Their flagship feature, what used to be called the pulse, is great. Pulse offers great management. Being able to see everything at a glance and check task status, is wonderful. They use subtasks and the simple aspects of task management have been really helpful.”

Another PeerSpot reviewer, the Head of Projects at Smart Media SA, notes, “The boards offer an amazing and clear view of my tasks, campaigns, and progress. Automations especially with Slack and Outlook help with keeping my team up-to-date always. Graphs and charts are valuable for reporting purposes and to track progress made. Workforms/surveys are valuable and a very cool added feature.”
