Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Feature-rich, easy to use, and has responsive technical support
We are working on the proof of concept for both MobileIron and Workspace ONE. We are only testing MobileIron and Workspace ONE. After that, we will decide which device to use. Workspace ONE by VMware Similarly, we will use MobileIron as a mobile device management tool, allowing us to manage our endpoints remotely. So far, we have not had any issues with VMware, and we have resolved some, if not all, of the issues. I have been testing with VMware Workspace ONE for the same amount of time as MobileIron UEM, three weeks. We are using the latest version, and it is deployed on a public cloud. The cloud provider is VMware. I have also been working with Google Chrome. Google Workspace is an email production tool provided by Google. We don't have a firewall because we're in the cloud right now. We have no on-premises network and all of our systems are hosted in the cloud.

Simplifies device management, making performing various administrative tasks easier
Sometimes, the server gets slow. The dashboard is only getting loaded. Jamf Pro offers many features, but some improvements could make it even more user-friendly. For example, streamlining authentication controls would enhance its security value. Too many complex settings on the dashboard make it hard for users to navigate. Simplifying the settings would make it easier to use. Adding a more interactive and cleaner UI design would also improve the user experience. Additionally, automatically categorizing policies and configurations by type would be helpful, making the dashboard more organized. Introducing auto-filtering based on categories would streamline configuration management. On the security side, enabling two-factor authentication for console login would provide better protection than single sign-on. Only authorized users can access sensitive data, like the asset inventory stored in the console. 2FA would help keep the system secure, preventing unauthorized access even if login credentials are compromised. Device management needs automation, and Jamf is likely to integrate Apple's Apple Intelligence into its framework once it's available. This integration is expected to be a significant enhancement for the Jamf console, potentially transforming the way device management is handled.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"It helps us manage user certificates."
"Conditional access has helped us tailor and enforce our security policies in the mobile space."
"It supports end-users who tend to lock their devices quite frequently. Its conditional access policy helps us keep the users logged into their devices."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is that it is more of a one-stop shop, providing an easier experience."
"I would say the biggest benefit is the single-pane view. There's no jumping around multiple UI's to do your overall management."
"Autopilot is a feature I really like."
"Intune helps the organization manage access to its internal apps, data, and resources."
"Compliance and the policies that can be set are the most valuable features."
"The user interface is user-friendly."
"The most valuable features of MobileIron UEM are tunneling and enterprise integration."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"The most valuable feature is that everything is in one place, which makes it easy to manage."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"The company provides great customer service."
"It's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."
"Thanks to Smart Groups and patch management, a lot of the work being done is via a hands-off approach."
"The most valuable features are the restrictions, Lost Mode, Self Service, and full implementation of anything Apple will let MDM manage."
"Jamf is stable, reliable, secure and you have lots of customization options."
"We have been able to successfully manage applications and inventory within our machines."
"Automated Device Enrollment workflows are great for zero-touch deployments, vital in the current global context. With Automated Device Enrollment workflows, we can deploy new Apple devices directly to end-users without help from the IT support team."
"I have found the most valuable feature to be the policies."
"Jamf cut the time it takes to deploy a new machine to a new user."
"It is a great tool. Its ease of use is fantastic. It is very simple, and you don't really have a high learning curve with this."

Cons

"A more incisive reporting tool with automated progress updates and graphical representation would be beneficial, as the current manual method lacks efficiency and visual clarity."
"Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect."
"Lacking in features such as Wi-Fi and network security."
"There have been instances where enrolling devices should take 10 minutes but ends up taking an hour due to various issues."
"Microsoft support was not very responsive, and it took approximately one and a half months to get on a call to clear what the problem was."
"Enrollment into the Microsoft Intune service can still get easier, especially for legacy-managed systems, such as how we get it from a GPO or an SCCM configuration into Intune."
"If we could remote into a device, it would be great. Currently, we cannot directly connect to the user device. We have to use other tools such as VMware for connecting to devices."
"Lacks the ability to deploy more ways of management, managing devices and processing the policies."
"The interface is complicated and not very easy to use."
"MobileIron UEM could improve the monitoring of devices."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti."
"The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that."
"We would like the initial setup to be simpler."
"UI needs an upgrade, feels very outdated."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti. The test team or the testing procedures are flawed because they release new versions with numerous basic issues."
"The upgrade process of this solutions could be improved. It is not possible to use Jamf Pro to upgrade devices."
"The reporting needs to be improved so that generating them is more user-friendly."
"The patching can definitely use a little bit of improvement. They should make it a little bit more automated."
"I wish there was a profile that could be created for configuring Apple software updates on a global basis for our devices, via a configuration profile."
"It would be nice to be able to search smart groups and/or filter them."
"It would be great for Jamf to provide templates for commonly used tasks like updating an operating system, packaging commonly used apps like Office 365, or enabling FileVault."
"I would like to see either a report section or an integration with a new reporting module to allow us to pull real metrics from the system easily."
"In some places, GUI could be more reactive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Intune is often included as part of a bundle with other Microsoft licenses, which makes it somewhat cheaper."
"The Intune license model is costly."
"There is a license required to use the solution. If you're core users in Office 365, for example, you have Outlook email and E3 license, this is only email. You have to buy an EMS license to have Microsoft Intune. It is expensive."
"Previously the price was $4 per month per user. Now it's $2.25 per user per month."
"The E5 license is expensive."
"Microsoft Intune's costliness stems from licensing fees and the overhead associated with its management, user experience, and device remediation."
"The price is reasonable, but they should lower it a bit to make it more competitive. It's cheaper than AirWatch and other products, but I still feel like Microsoft can make a base version or with Exchange online or a la carte only Intune version which will be useful. A customer who doesn't want to go full-fledged E3 or E5 can take out or consume an Intune solution only for their purpose, and we want to target that customer."
"The solution is cost-efficient."
"The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"Don’t go into a sales call without knowing all the details of your system because Jamf has a ton of tools outside of Jamf Pro to offer and knowing them ahead of time is a must."
"Jamf is quite up there. It wasn't the cheapest solution, but it's reasonable. Apigee was cheaper than Jamf."
"The setup cost is in the training, which is the most important step of your journey."
"The cost of this solution is expensive but worth it."
"It seems fair. It could be a little bit less, but you have to pay for a product. You can't get something for free. You get what you pay for, so if you put in a little bit of money, you're going to get a good quality product."
"JumpStart is available at an additional cost."
"If you have the in-house capability to support Jamf, then paying for onboarding / JumpStart training is a no brainer."
"I think it pays for itself to let Jamf host the server."
