Collaborative work with students has improved but storage limitations and support issues remain
We have Google Workspace, and we use it primarily for Drive to collect items. We categorize folders with topics and material either for students or for research. We use Google Doc to share documents, especially when we assign homework to be corrected for peer correction or classroom correction. With Teams and Microsoft, we use it for collective calls and exam supervision because we use video surveillance through camera with Teams. We use Teams for meetings and to share material with students. The ability to share documents with students and assign them things and correct them in real time has been beneficial. You can verify what they write, and they can contribute and cooperate to create a collective document, which is something that our society nowadays requires. The ability to cooperate, especially those who work with languages and those who work with writing, need to learn how to cooperate. There is co-editing and co-writing, all these sorts of things. I love the fact that I can easily have access to folders that I can categorize and where I can upload research material and teaching material.

Stable, scalable, and good interface
HCL Verse has a nice interface and it is a practical email solution. There are a diverse set of features, such as the search bar on top of the screens. The usability from the old applications to the new version has been very good. It was great that we were able to migrate applications from the older version to the new one.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I have found the solution to be pretty stable."
"Google Workspace is an excellent tool for communicating with people, which allows users to collaborate and edit files simultaneously."
"The solution is very stable."
"It takes a few minutes and you're set up, with all the infrastructure."
"I use Keep to assign tasks to a team of programmers, which is very easy."
"Google integrates well with our system. G Suite has an open API, so you can connect any open system with Google capable of working with API. This is the main reason we use it."
"There are several areas where a G Suite implementation can reduce costs: lower license fees than some competing products, reduced hardware and IT support costs, and other benefits that can provide a competitive advantage such as improved productivity, increased collaboration, flexible working, easy scaling for new employees, and the ability to add and remove licenses as required."
"The solution is very stable."
"HCL Verse has a nice interface and it is a practical email solution. There are a diverse set of features, such as the search bar on top of the screens."
"We switched to Verse because of enhanced features, better design, and higher security."
"This solution is the best one."
"The most valuable feature is the mail server."

Cons

"The stability is good and it permits collaboration, but I think in the last couple of years it hasn't been as good as the Microsoft solution."
"G-Suite is excellent for what we're trying to do, but it could use some extra features. For example, it would be helpful if we had a seamless way to convert Excel macros to Google Sheets."
"Google Workspace has limitations as a document or file management system. Without a workspace account, manual actions are required to perform tasks such as managing groups of people. Additionally, managing permissions individually is a time-consuming and inefficient process. It's difficult to articulate, but the process is not very streamlined."
"Google Workspace lacks the ability to copy and move files from one folder to another easily."
"The cost could be improved. It can sometimes be a bit confusing figuring out how we are actually being charged."
"G Suite could offer something a little more solid in terms of chat — something that is a little more like Slack and integrates with everything. But, unfortunately, the chat is very basic there. It doesn't offer that many features and feels like it doesn't belong there."
"The administration aspect, including the UI and implementation, could be simplified and made more user friendly."
"Scalability could be improved, we sometimes have issues when there is a lot of data."
"The setup was not very easy due to higher security standards."
"Security is very important to us, so improvements to this functionality are welcome."
"The solution could improve by allowing us to use a color that we want in the editing boxes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are several areas where a G Suite implementation can reduce costs: lower license fees than some competing products, reduced hardware, and IT support costs."
"It's low in cost as compared to Office 365. There is an annual licensing cost."
"The price per client within the business is too high."
"The price of the solution can vary."
"Approximately $6 per user, per month."
"There are different versions of the solution available, such as premium."
"Pricing is something concerning. We find the solution very expensive."
"The pricing is comparable, it's pretty decent."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"This is an affordable solution but the price could be improved."
