Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can view and connect different sources to the dashboard using it.""Machine learning is the most valuable feature of this solution.""The solution has been stable in our usage.""I have built a mini business intelligence system based on Elastic Observability.""It's easy to deploy, and it's very flexible.""It is a powerful tool that allows users to collect and transform logs as needed, enabling flexible visualization and analysis.""The architecture and system's stability are simple.""The solution allows us to dig deep into data."

"It has been useful for monitoring, troubleshooting, and assessing our environment, as well as for investigating bottlenecks.""I don't have to go back and forth between different applications to get the report I need.""As a manager, I find Veeam One's reporting service to be very helpful.""The stability of Veeam ONE is good.""I think Veeam ONE is a good product to supervise and monitor infrastructure and for backup purposes.""The solution is really easy and straightforward to use.""It is easy to set up initially.""The solution is carefully designed to be easy to use - even if you're in a panic."

Cons
"The auto-discovery isn't nearly as good. That's a big portion of it. When you drop the agent onto the JVM and you're trying to figure things out, having to go through and manually do all that is cumbersome.""There is room for improvement regarding its APM capabilities.""The cost must be made more transparent.""The solution needs to use more AI. Once the product onboards AI, users would more effectively be able to track endpoints for specific messages.""The price is the only issue in the solution. It can be made better and cheaper.""Elastic APM's visualization is not that great compared to other tools. It's number of metrics is very low.""More web features could be added to the product.""Improving code insight related to infrastructure and network, particularly focusing on aspects such as firewalls, switches, routers, and testing would be beneficial."

More Elastic Observability Cons →

"Its reporting feature could be better.""We'd like to see them add more custom templates.""One common customer complaint is that Veeam, not just Veeam ONE, has become increasingly complex over time. This means that it is now very feature-rich, which can be challenging for some users to navigate and understand. There is a need for more education on how to use the GUI and all of the available features. Even regular users of Veeam may struggle to utilize the new features, which makes it more challenging for backup administrators to manage their backups. The platform is not becoming simpler, but rather, it is becoming more complicated over time.""If you don't have technical knowledge about these services, monitoring the virtual machines is hard.""Agent backups could be better. I have many problems with agent backups, particularly on Linux and MySQL databases. MySQL works well with Microsoft products but not with other products. The database backups are not working correctly, and we are losing business. I am not getting any support; administration is also a significant problem.""It would be better if the solution presented the number of servers and the success rate on the dashboard.""I face difficulties when trying to deploy Veeam ONE because my active directory restricts some particular rights.""I think Veeam ONE should be included in the base product instead of as an add-on because customers tend to look for simple solutions that are integrated."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "So far, there are just the standard licensing fees. Several of the components are embedded in the license or are even open source. They're even free depending on what you use, which makes it even more appealing to someone that is discussing pricing of the solution."
  • "There are two types: cloud and SaaS. They charge based on data ingestion, ingest rate, hard retention, and warm retention. I believe it costs around $25,000 annually to ingest 30GB of data daily. That is the SaaS version. There is also a self-managed license where the customer manages their own infrastructure on-prem. In such cases, there are three license tiers that respectively cost $5,000 annually per node, $7,000 per node, and $12,500 per node."
  • "Pricing is one of those situations where the more you use it, the more you pay."
  • "The price of Elastic Observability is expensive."
  • "Users have to pay for some features, like the alerts on different channels, because they are unavailable in different source versions."
  • "One needs to pay for the licenses, and it is an annual subscription model right now."
  • "Since we are a huge company, Elastic Observability is an affordable solution for us."
  • "We will buy a premium license after POC."

  • "For what it does, the price is acceptable."
  • "If you have Veeam Backup and Replication with the essential license then this solution is free. If you were to purchase Veeam ONE by itself it is priced cheaper than competitors."
  • "The licenses are code-based or server-based for Veeam ONE. The last version is 12, and it is host-based, I don't like to move to a code-based solution."
  • "Veeam has been raising its prices in the last two years, so it's now lacking some competitiveness in pricing."
  • "I have not used the resale license in our testing environments. Sometimes, our customers used the trial license for 30 days and so on."
  • "I don't pay for the solution, so I can't comment on the cost."
  • "The cost is based on the number of core servers."
  • "Our licensing cost is $200 a year."
