End-to-end monitoring has improved user experience and now supports comprehensive observability
The most valuable features of eG Enterprise depend on the application, so that's pretty vast, but they definitely include end-to-end application and infrastructure monitoring. User satisfaction with eG Enterprise is really the key component now, so if you go to VDI or RDH, any of those platforms, you get the total end-to-end user experience because they do have endpoint monitoring now as well, and that was the feature that was lacking before.

Dynamic discovery and effective network topology make IT monitoring valuable
The solution enables dynamic discovery and incorporates a powerful configuration management database, CMDB, along with a strong correlation engine. It covers the entire span of the infrastructure, including servers and network operations. It also adapts well to different environments, showing network topology effectively, making the network monitoring tool quite valuable.

Cons

"I think the overall licensing models of eG Enterprise could be changed and adapted to a more flexible, more agile structure."
"It'd be nice if the price was lower."
"Dashboards are difficult to create, and not so useful."
"One thing that I don't like about eG is like the interface. It's not really that user-friendly to make a change, or to navigate through."
"Their dashboards could use some improvement. The ability to customize them a bit more."
"I would not buy this product again knowing what I know now. It takes too much time and it is still not where it used to be."
"The integration must be improved."
"I would like to see improvements in the alarm display console."
"Micro Focus Network Management doesn't support end-to-end monitoring of cloud infrastructure. Micro Focus might have different cloud solutions for cloud automation and hybrid cloud management. There are a lot of products that also support automation. That is different, but it should monitor the cloud from an IT operations management perspective."
"It may need a more customizable UI."
"The user interface is outdated and needs improvement, especially for service and topology maps."
"Micro Focus Network Management doesn't support end-to-end monitoring of cloud infrastructure."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are two licensing options: Perpetual and SaaS-based. The main offering, in terms of what eG prefers to offer, is the subscription-based rather than the Perpetual License. The price could be cheaper."
"It'd be nice if the price was lower. That would be an improvement."
"They are aligned with other enterprise solutions."
"They gave us a good price, when they were found out we were looking at other products because their price was very high. We were looking at another solution, then we came back to them was because they brought the price down. We selected them for three years."
"You may get some monitoring products with certain licensing you may own. Some of these can take ages to configure and setup, along with needing a license to drive the software."
"The cost for eG Enterprise is almost $100,000 for one hundred and fifty services. It's subscription-based and the payment is yearly."
"We paid about 300,000 Saudi Riyal for the solution and it was quite affordable compared to the competition."
"The product is very cheap."
"Micro Focus' price is on the higher side, but there are other products like CA products and IBM that are more expensive. At the same time, you have to compare the maturity level of the solutions."
