Can be used for the virtualization of TCP/IP protocols for third-party terminal insurance
We use it for the virtualization of third-party APIs for performance testing. Our second use case is related to the virtualization of TCP/IP protocols for third-party terminal insurance, which is used for insurance clients In the case of the virtualization of TCP/IP protocols for third-party…

End-to-end regression automation has accelerated delivery and now secures complex test data
I think Tosca can be improved, particularly in AI capabilities because right now Tosca does not have any strong API capabilities. It has some AI features in the newer version, but many organizations have not adopted these due to version-specific problems, as some are still using older versions. From an AI point of view, they can enhance reliability since the world is moving towards AI, and every tool must be integrated. While Tosca has made attempts, I have not used them and they are not widely adopted, so they are stuck in the testing phase in my organization. I would also mention that while I am currently using Tosca Mobile, the loading part and connectivity issues need improvement. They should better integrate AI features that are already present but not widely used across many organizations. Reliability on the AI aspect needs enhancement for practical application. From the perspective of governance and security, I believe Tosca can develop its own LLM or leverage third-party LLMs while maintaining security and risk management regarding client data. Many companies prefer using Tosca due to data security, which is crucial. An in-house LLM could significantly enhance its debugging power and provide helpful solutions upon test case failure.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Over the past 3 years which I've been using it, I've found it to be a good solution."
"Without trying other products in the service virtualize space, I feel very comfortable working with this product."
"With CA SV it took 2.10 minutes as opposed to 210 minutes for a total validation per scenario, which reduced the development cycle time and provided a product with no defects from a QA perspective."
"The web services protocol for SOAP requests and responses is the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable feature is that it's available 24/7."
"For us, the most valuable feature is that it gives us the ability to virtualize a lot of our integrated systems."
"In terms of improving the way the organization functions, it gives us lot of visibility into what features are getting released when."
"I use VSI, VSM, and SOA testing."
"We are satisfied with the support of Tricentis."
"The product is very useful in keeping track of test execution and coverage."
"We switched to Tosca because it's a no-code solution, so people without coding skills can also use it, and if you have an in-depth understanding of the Tosca framework, you can easily automate any complex application."
"Compared to other tools we have been looking at, you don't have to be a programmer to operate it, though it helps, and it is also a product that can be used by business people."
"We have, within the first six months, been able to automate 85% of our critical business processes and we have been able to maintain that while keeping our BCR ratio down, and we have also seen about 234 defects per month in production drop to less than 8."
"The advantage of using Tricentis Tosca is that we can get started with automation without much investment on solution development, with it following a keyword-driven approach."
"Licenses are expensive, but they are worth using."
"The primary driver for us is that it puts automation into the hands of non-technical testers."

Cons

"I have noticed performance issues such as the virtual server requires a restart after using it for a certain amount of time, to make sure it responds better."
"We don’t see enough value in virtualizing the services just because it requires a huge amount of maintenance and there is not much support available online."
"I would rate the tech support a nine out of ten. They need more knowledge about the connectivity to DevOps orchestration."
"The UI is a pain point. If they had a better UI, it would have a much higher rating."
"Reporting needs to be improved for both manual and performance testing."
"CA SV takes up lot of your system resources."
"Their knowledge management system is not up to the mark. The search functionality really needs to be improved."
"The user interface and usability of the tool is not the best. They could definitely be improved upon in the next release."
"So far, all our issues have had to do with our unfamiliarity with the product."
"Browser compatibility (probably solved in the newest versions). Version 8 of Tosca had weak compatibility with automation via browsers."
"The self-healing feature of Tricentis Tosca needs significant improvement. Currently, it is static and not dynamic."
"10.3 was not stable enough for my expectations."
"The issue is that even though the components are tightly integrated, object identification can be quite slow, sometimes taking five to ten seconds."
"It requires some coding customization that requires expertise, so having free services along with the licenses would be good."
"The disadvantage is that it is very expensive."
"Product quality has declined as it grows, and its updates aren't without fault. The process of resolving problems has slowed, and as it expands into other areas like NeoLoad and other testing tools, the product becomes more complicated. It used to be a small firm with a clear goal, but as it grows, the quality has been affected."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a yearly licensing cost, and I would give it a four out of five."
"I think the pricing is quite fair because this solution provides a lot of functionalities, and is quite stable."
"There are additional fees for advanced-level technical support."
"I don't have the exact dollar amount, but we have spent close to $1,000,000 for a three-year agreement, for an enterprise level."
"I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive. It is on the higher side."
"The pricing is high, but altogether it offers you the ability to automate all sorts of applications: desktop, web, mobile, etc."
"If you are purchasing less than five licenses, then the pricing is high. On a scale from one to ten, with one being low and ten being high pricing, I would rate this solution at eight."
"A yearly license costs around 20,000 euros."
"We have around 200 [concurrent] licenses and the cost around $1.4 million a year."
"Tosca is expensive. I don't see small and medium customers going for it. It's always large enterprises that have a big pocket. It is very expensive as compared to the other tools that we have in the market. They should reduce the price by half, and if they do that, they would do better business. From the competition perspective, other solutions are at a pretty similar level. UiPath is also very expensive. One thing that I always wanted was a short-term consumption license. With Tricentis, the biggest challenge is that you have to go for a minimum of one year license, and they also try to sell you a three-year license. It would be good if people can get a three-month or four-month consumption license."
"It is expensive. There is also the training cost, but it does speed up the process. So, you get a return on investment."
"Pricing for Tricentis Tosca could be improved because it's very expensive."
