Pros
"It is a stable solution. The stability is okay.""Start anywhere application modelling brings a fantastic opportunity for users to see what is where.""BMC provides great support. As managed service support, they are gold.""The most valuable feature is Windows proxy. We now need to install an additional link proxy server in Windows. The proxy is available as an outpost in the Elastic store. That is the advanced feature is added. There are many other features which can be used once we discover them. One time I was scanning the servers and all, going to data from additional based on the additional features, including advanced data like score upper display data successfully discover servers. There are many things good things that can be implemented using it while we haven’t installed those yet.""The initial setup was quite easy.""The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is easy to install and deploy.""The most valuable feature of BMC Helix Discovery is it operates well. It is well known and has gained recognition for its software.""A valuable feature concerns the ability to integrate with different solutions."

Cons
"There isn't much that could be improved. The solution is pretty thorough, very easy to implement, and very easy to operate.""A review of end of life data would be nice.""The monitoring tools could be more stable.""The product falls short compared to storage discovery mechanisms offered by Tenable or ServiceNow ITOM. In the market, there are various applications available that provide different sets of features. Its drawback is that it doesn't give the database configuration customers need out of the box. Additionally, the classification of storage virtualization is relatively lacking. Therefore, there is room for improvement, particularly in the database areas.""I would like to see the ability to scan some of the newer cloud platforms. I know that BMC has them on the roadmap, and they are coming soon, but they can't come fast enough. Being able to scan more of GCloud, Alibaba Cloud, or whatever the public clouds that our customers are buying, we need to make sure that Discovery can find them as well.""The license model could be more flexible and cheaper pricing.""There is still room for improvement in terms of stability.""The improvement which we require is to delete the Internet service. Till some of the features are coming, like, internally side. If you are taking one server to model, there are a lot of usages like three structures per diagram is coming, and we have to do the man lot of manual work. Instead of that, whatever our requirement, we should be able to provide the servers and get the structure. So this is what we want to implement with such data."

"The asset management tool is costly.""The assets that can be discovered are pretty easy to manage, but there should be a better way to manage non-discoverable assets. Our development team works on bots and tests particular hardware. They have got different varieties of hardware. They want a feature for managing these assets within a warehouse kind of environment. For example, our IT has received 100 items, and they have assigned these items as a bulk unit to a project manager. The project manager further wants to distribute these items within his or her team. Instead of maintaining a separate Excel sheet, the project manager should be able to reallocate these items from within the tool so that we have hierarchical entities for the same unit.""The engineering area needs improvement."
