Real-time network visibility has transformed how we pinpoint LAN bottlenecks and resolve issues faster

The only area for improvement is pricing. Otherwise, the tool is great. I think the pricing is acceptable. If you are working with resellers, it makes it a little bit difficult sometimes for the reseller to be able to make too much, as the margin is not all that significant. However, we are not getting rid of Auvik Network Management (ANM). That is the only thing in my opinion that Auvik Network Management (ANM) can do a little bit better on—maybe just the pricing—but it is a great tool. We are not replacing it with anything and we are not removing it at all. It is a great tool, and we are able to monitor our own internal network as well as that of our customers. In most cases, we have not had any complaints about neither from my techs or from myself about its functionality, as it works really.

Unique features allow consolidating and combing metrics into a single dashboard, but don't monitor mobile solutions

I would like to see more granular information provided on Unix applications. Also, the integration with Unix services should be a bit more straightforward in terms having an agent to retrieve your credentials rather than having to enter or save them for SSH on SolarWinds. From the outset, we had to set some commands to log into the search console, and they are saved on the solution, which presents a challenge in terms of exposure. The solution is unable to monitor APK solutions completely because we'd then be forced to break down the APK and provide the APIs or go through the source code. They don't have a module that can analyze an application that is maybe under-used.

"They can improve its monitoring capabilities for the physical servers or operating systems. At the moment, they do have some visibility. Even though you don't buy Auvik for monitoring your servers, and it is more for network monitoring, it would be nice if they can do end-to-end monitoring so that you don't have to use a different tool for operating system monitoring. You can get all the information from Auvik."

"The mapping automatically finds all the interfaces but tags some of them incorrectly. For instance, if it can't find how a CPU interface is connected, it will use the MAC address last seen on the router and sometimes attribute cloud-connected devices to the route, but it's not actually there. That's not a true connection."

"There are spots in the interface that could use a little more work as it is congested with a lot of information in one spot."

"The window view could be improved. For instance, if I'm in inventory and I'm looking at my devices, I don't like the way the window splits at the bottom. Some of the higher-end logging solutions, like Splunk, which is very expensive, can parse through it and correlate items better. Improvement to the logging features would be a value-add, but I'm still very happy that it exists."

"It is not backing up my configurations on much of my network equipment. For some reason, it struggles with Ubiquiti equipment, and it is a known issue. They have a ticket open for it. Some of it could be because of the way Ubiquiti handles authentication."
