I am most familiar with certain products at different times; some moments it is more one product and other moments it is another product. I work as an enterprise architect, usually connecting other systems with e-commerce front ends. What fits best for the customer depends on the software, budget, experience, and various other factors.

In my region, the choice depends on company size. For smaller companies, Shopify is a very popular option. For the enterprise level, Microsoft delivers a full stack. There is also a lot of custom programming for stores available. Some customers want a very special layout, in which case you would use something with building blocks.

The most valuable features in Shopify are the ease of integration. The downside is that the layout is not adaptable as someone would expect. For some customers, Shopify is not a viable option because it is not adaptable enough. Adaptability is mostly related to the layout and specific things related to the business branch.

I have not been a partner or reseller of Shopify. I belong to a company that delivers architects who help customers find the best product and support them in implementation. In many cases, it is not only software that needs to be installed; organizations also need to adapt. For instance, if you really want to sell through the web, you need to be capable of setting up an organization to deliver products the next day or faster. Many organizations are not capable of doing this, so they need to change procedures in their warehouses and sales operations. It is not only about the software.

Regarding weaknesses in Shopify, I think that is a strong part. There are other things, but everything is specific and relies on a case-by-case basis. In general, if you do not use Shopify to integrate, it is mostly because the layout does not fit for the customer.

In the future, additional features that Shopify could offer to make it more competitive include easy integration. That is the most important part because most systems have some financial apps such as bookkeeping. Integration with financial apps, warehouse apps, or shipping carriers is almost always needed.

I have been dealing with Shopify since the beginning, but I am uncertain about the current state.

At the start, I was more in Dynamics and Microsoft environments. In Microsoft environments at the start, Sana was the best fit. However, I am not certain about Sana anymore.

Regarding the price, it is reasonable.

When it comes to competition for smaller companies, it depends on the situation. For instance, at one time I needed something for a grocery in food and for restaurants. There was really missing functionality in Shopify because you have to be capable of tracing. Those capabilities were not sufficient for that company, so sometimes we found another product. Everything depends on the requirements.

I have experience with Microsoft, Salesforce, and Sana, but not with SAP.

I have dealt with Microsoft Commerce Server and SAP Commerce Cloud, but those products are mostly for bigger companies. You would not use them for a small, local enterprise.

Shopify is a good option for smaller companies, and there are other options available, but it is a good option. For normal things to sell, Shopify is adequate.

Shopify is a popular choice in my region for smaller enterprises. I would rate Shopify as difficult because it is always related to a certain case. Shopify is not the best option for all customers. If I compare Shopify to the competition for a small company, I would give it a seven out of ten. My overall rating for Shopify is seven.

The primary use case for Shopify is when I want to quickly build an online store. I utilize Shopify as an online store to manage and grow my retail business. I use it to boost my online sales.

Shopify is easy to start and has an intuitive onboarding process for customers. It is very good in terms of performance and is relatively cheap compared to other SaaS solutions like Webflow or Wix. The ease of deployment for a basic setup is beneficial for my operations.

Shopify does not have inventory management capabilities, requiring custom integration with ERP, which could be made easier. Additionally, making third-party tool integrations smoother would be beneficial. There is also room for improvement in scalability, particularly in reducing the commission based on volume.

I have been working with Shopify for the last couple of years.

Shopify is relatively stable with a rating of eight. However, there have been issues when Shopify initiated global updates, leading to lost customer tracking, which needs better communication.

I rate Shopify's scalability as six or seven. Other platforms like WooCommerce are more scalable because they allow full control over resources, queries, and optimization, whereas Shopify users pay a higher commission as they scale.

I did not reach out to Shopify's customer support, as I resolved issues on my own. The documentation is well-written and clear, which likely reduced my need to contact support.

The pricing starts at around thirty dollars for the basic subscription with a two percent payment commission, and can go up to two thousand dollars a month plus payment commission, which becomes a lot as you scale.

Shopify competes with platforms like WooCommerce, which is considered more scalable.

I would rate Shopify overall as seven out of ten. It works well for its target audience but may not be suitable for larger-scale projects, where I might choose a different technology.

I use Shopify for eCommerce for my vaping business. I own a website.

The most valuable feature of Shopify is its ease of use. I do not need to integrate different services from different platforms, as Shopify makes it easier to have everything on one platform. The speed and reliability of Shopify are excellent, which is crucial for my business. Analytics is a well-developed feature within the platform. The apps in Shopify are easier to integrate and work more smoothly compared to WooCommerce. This seamless integration helps me manage the website efficiently, unlike WooCommerce, which can be slow.

There are currently no areas that I find missing in Shopify. That's why I have been using it for many years.

Shopify excels in speed and reliability, especially in my business.

I rate customer service ten out of ten. Shopify makes good use of AI to solve problems that would typically be directed to the customer care team. Even if I need to get in touch, it is easy.

Pricing with WooCommerce is cheaper, and even people without technical skills can navigate it easily.

I have used WooCommerce before.

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Shopify an easy 9.5. WooCommerce does offer cheaper pricing and easy navigation for non-technical users, but Shopify is superior in speed, reliability, and integration. My overall rating for Shopify is 9.5.

The solution helps to set up an online store for businesses. 

If you have a physical business, like a shop on the street, and you want to take it online but don't know how to do it, you have a couple of options. You could contact a developer or set up an account on Shopify and create your online store there.

Shopify is similar to WordPress. It's a content management system specifically built for e-commerce. You can add your products, upload photos, and set up your store fairly easily, even if you don't know how to code. It's designed for people who don't know how to code but want to create a basic online store.

Some business owners don't want to deal with this, so they hire web developers specializing in Shopify to help set up their online store.

If you're not satisfied with the default settings or appearance of your Shopify store, you can also hire a Shopify specialist to customize the code, layout, and other aspects of the website that you can't modify within Shopify itself.

What I like most about the tool is its ability to integrate applications. You can add various apps, such as review applications to handle reviews or apps that help with upselling. There are many different applications available.

Another feature I appreciate is the ability to connect your store to your Instagram or Meta account. It is also user-friendly. 

Previously, Shopify had a limitation of 200 product variations, which posed a challenge for businesses with multiple product options like different colors and sizes. However, they have increased this limit to 1,000 variations, greatly improving the platform's functionality. Besides that, I don't see any major issues that need improvement.

I have been working with the product for two years. 

I have encountered situations where I had to wait due to server issues or similar problems. But these occurrences have been quite rare—I'd say they've happened only about three to five times in my experience. The solution is, otherwise, fairly stable. 

I haven't contacted technical support yet. 

The choice of Shopify is mutual. Clients often want to use it to set up their stores but need assistance, so they hire Shopify specialists like us. Additionally, I always suggest Shopify for clients without online stores seeking consultation because I am familiar with the platform and can provide help.

The tool's deployment is easy. You have to do things through your browser. 

The tool is worth its money. 

The tool's pricing depends on how big your online store is. 

My work setup has been varied. Sometimes, I work on Shopify projects independently, handling everything myself. Other times, I collaborate with different people on projects.

I'm connected to a community of Shopify developers through Facebook groups, where I network. We have virtual coffee meetings where we can meet and interact with other developers.

The tool is a good choice if you are serious about your online business. It’s easy to learn because many YouTube channels cover topics you might want to understand better. I'm following a couple of these channels myself. I would score Shopify a nine out of ten.

Shopify is a B2C e-commerce application. Shopify was basically useful for one of our company's clients who dealt with home appliance products that were sold online. My company created an end-to-end application for our client's e-commerce application, including all the products and coupons along with a proper template design and everything, which was not a big deal for our company since we already had template designs readily available to us which had to be just integrated into the system. There were not many customizations required when using Shopify, except for a few minor areas for which my company used the plug-in options available in the market.

In one of the fashion design projects my company dealt with for Shopify, we had to design the templates for our client and then integrate them with Shopify, which was a simple process.

Shopify provides you with limited options when it comes to customization. In general, there is a limit to customization in the solution. If you consider an enterprise-level application with a lot of customization, Shopify can be problematic to use. Shopify needs to provide more options when it comes to its customization capabilities.

I have been using Shopify for seven to eight years.

Stability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

My client has hardly faced any issues with Shopify.

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

If you want an enterprise-sized application and want to host it in an in-house setup while ensuring that the exposure of the code is not much, then it has a limited scope. To deal with the aforementioned areas, a certain level of customization is required.

When my company tries to do some customizations, we need to contact the solution's technical support. The solution's technical support response is based on the SLAs and the package or pricing model that a user has chosen. The solution's technical support is good.

I rate the technical support a nine out of ten.

OpenCart, Ucommerce, and WooCommerce are some of the solutions that my company has used.

The product's initial setup phase was an easy and smooth process, especially for those with some knowledge of customizations. For the initial setup phase, many online tutorials are available, making the process easy.

The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.

In those places where the product is already deployed, you can set it back to live status whenever required. You can use the templates to make certain required changes, use the readymade templates that are available in Shopify, or design your own templates.

Shopify has streamlined our company's online sales process since its very best part stemmed from the fact that it has hosted its application on the server, owing to which there is no need to think about areas, like CDN or speed optimization, which are aspects that can be worrisome in WooCommerce. With Shopify, users need not worry about the updates since the tool takes care of such areas, but there is always a need to update the plug-in options when it comes to WooCommerce. Sometimes, the plug-ins are not compatible, which is a very big problem when it comes to WooCommerce. In WooCommerce, there is a need to keep updating it since the plug-ins are not compatible at times, which creates problems.

Shopify's feature that has had the most significant impact on our business efficiency is related to the area of SEO with tagging, which helps our company and clients a lot. The optimization and cache management to keep the speed of the tool at a very good pace so that it does not hamper our client's work is helpful. The customers who use Shopify don't face any problems when accessing the website.

Speaking about the cost-effectiveness of using Shopify in our business, we are a service-based company that uses Shopify based on recommendations from our clients. Shopify has a very good pricing model. The licenses for B2C models are available at a very good price. Shopify gives you a free account to begin with, making it a nice choice to start off with, especially if you have a limited or small number of products. Shopify has a lot of built-in features since it is an on-premises e-commerce application, so users need not worry about cache, optimization, or CDN.

For startup businesses, Shopify is a good product if you want to indulge in the hassle-free development of applications without the involvement of any third-party applications. Shopify provides you with useful features in the areas of security, optimization, and CDN. With Shopify, everything comes in one bucket. Shopify is one of the best tools for those who want to start their e-commerce application.

I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten.

We are the dealers and distributors of premium brands and cater to small and medium-sized businesses along with other customers. We use the platform to sell products through our E-commerce store. The platform provides us with all the necessary integration facilities for sale.

The solution is highly customizable for our store’s e-commerce needs. We don't need to write any code as all the required features are already inbuilt. The front end can be easily customized. Moreover, this tool offers built-in integrations with payment gateway, messaging services like SMS and email, and logistics integration.

There are some areas where improvements could be made. Currently, the platform only supports three product variants, and having the option for more variants would be beneficial. Additionally, we have to rely on external plugins for reviews and ratings, which could be more convenient if they were built-in.

I have been using the latest version of the solution for the past year.

The solution is stable.

Shopify is scalable. It handles traffic efficiently.

The solution provides minimal support. We need to hire a professional expert to address specific needs related to our website or online store.

There's no installation required for the platform. It operates as a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. All we need to do is sign up, and we can start using it right away. Within one week, we can set up our website on-premises. One person with good graphic design skills and some technical skills should be enough to set up the website.

The Shopify platform covers various aspects, including upgrades and maintenance. If you ever need to make changes to your front-end website, you can make the change.

The pricing of the solution is economical. The enterprise version is more expensive, however, we do not use it. We pay for the license on a monthly basis and there are payment gateway charges associated with transactions, typically around two percent or as applicable.

Shopify is good for small and medium enterprises, as it eliminates the need for us to invest in our own e-commerce platform and hosting, which can be costly and require extensive maintenance. Overall, I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

The product has a few free-to-use features. It is easy to navigate and has good visuals as well.

Shopify's most valuable feature is the product listing page.

The order processing and saving of the changes for the product should have automatic functioning. At the moment, I have to go to the front-end and back-end and operate all the functions manually.

I have been using Shopify for a few months.

The initial setup has average complexity. We need to choose the store's name faster before someone else claims it.

I rate Shopify a nine out of ten. It is the best platform to use. The users can establish a lot of stores and boost their online presence.

I have my own group of Shopify developers and we create Shopify stores for our clients. We also handle maintenance, fix bugs, and do whatever it is that they need.

I have a partner account, which enables me to create the stores for my clients.

The most valuable features are the core structure and backend structure. Our clients are easily able to manage their sites at the backend. Shopify provides an easy to use service at the backend that includes product upload, customer service, team settings, and team customization. It is all very easy to handle.

I would like to see a new feature that supports the sale of wholesale goods. I have many clients that want to sell their products to the wholesale market, and Shopify currently does not have that kind of feature. In order to support this, we have to do custom coding.

The response time by technical support is sometimes delayed and is an area that can be improved. Sometimes we get a full response in a day or two, whereas, at other times, it takes five days.

I have been working with Shopify for Four years.

Shopify is always available. I'm using a premium package that they provide and there are no bugs. If we do any customization then there won't be any major problem.

Scalability is very good.

There have been times where we contacted technical support because something was not working as we wanted, so we needed to know what was happening. The support is very good. They will take time to give a response, but eventually, they will give proper answers and, overall, I am satisfied with the support.

I only know Shopify and have not worked with other solutions such as WordPress or Magento.

The initial setup is really straightforward.

When I create a store from my partner account, there is a button press that begins the process. From there, I need to enter a few details that include the physical address of the client, their name, and the business name. Then, the store is ready and you can upload anything you want.

It is very simple and it can all be done within about ten minutes.

After the initial setup, the length of time required for customization depends on how many pages they want, what the design is like, and what the requirements are. If the design is complex then it may take a month, whereas if the design is simple then it will be ready in two or three weeks.

I do not follow a specific design strategy. I'll ask my client what they need and they will give me a specific document or design if they have it, and a feature function list. I'll read the documents and then provide a timeline and a quote. It comes down to them telling me what they need and I'll give them what they want.

This is a product that will give you your money's worth. If a client takes their store seriously and does their marketing then Shopify will give them a high rate of return.

If you create a store directly from Shopify then you will receive a 14-day trial period. After that, you will need to purchase a plan. However, if I create it from my partner account then you will get an unlimited trial period. Then, once the store is complete, you need to purchase a plan.

They have various plans including ones that are priced at $29 per month, $79 per month, and can go up to $300 per month.

My advice for anybody who is considering Shopify is not to hesitate. It is the best solution and I suggest implementing it. The biggest lesson that I have learned from using it is that it is simple to use and there is no complexity.

I think that Shopify is the number one e-commerce platform. In my opinion, it is the best choice for e-commerce sites. That said, no service is perfect.

I used to use WordPress but when Shopify came out, I switched. I am very thorough with most of their apps — standard apps like Metafields Guru and Shopify integration. I also did a two-way integration between Shopify and ActiveCampaign. Currently, only one-way synchronization is available from Shopify to TickPick, but I created an API that also transfers data from ActiveCampaign to Shopify. In other words, I know Shopify, inside and out.

Most of my clients prefer a themed store. They come to us with specific requirements, saying "I have a hundred products. Here are the categories and payment methods I want to use." Our clients often have requirements involving branding elements, such as colors, logos, and particular fonts. I then suggest a suitable theme and once they approve it, I get to work customizing it. 

I customize a theme to match the clients' desired look and feel — I ensure all of the elements and the colors and in place. With Shopify, almost everything is already pre-built, like payment gateways; there are already payment methods integrated. All the customer needs to do is just put in their credential and they're ready to go — no additional apps or platforms necessary.

UPS shipping methods as well as other third-party methods are already integrated. Again, all the customer needs to do is just put in their credentials. Theme customization is mostly the work that I do on a daily basis. 

Sometimes a client will have a specific requirement that requires me to use a Bold app. A Bold app allows the user to define currencies, so the client can have their own price defined that is not auto-calculated by a currency calculator. If a client has a particular requirement involving currency, then I use a Bold application to configure it. 

In terms of customization, recently, I had a client who sells custom shirts. When his customers go to his product page, they can pick a color from various colored shirts. From there, we can customize even more, including color shades, collar types, cuff types, button types, fabric preferences, etc. This is referred to as an accordion model.

My client wanted the selection page layout to be step-by-step, beginning with the color selection first. After a color has been chosen, the color tab closes and another tab opens for fabric selection, followed by collar-style, and so on, and so on — like an accordion. When you choose a particular style, it appears as an image so the customer can actually visualize how the customized shirt will look. We're talking about some serious customization that we do.

Shopify is an easy-to-use, fast-loading e-commerce platform. It's also the most secure e-commerce platform. 

Even non-technical people can easily use it to set up a store. Most of my clients (regardless of skillset) do the initial setup themselves. They can add products, integrate payment methods, and configure their email notifications. When they require additional, higher-levels of customization, that's when they come to the freelancers and web developers. Shopify is very easy to use.

As I mentioned earlier, Shopify can be used without any coding knowledge; just drag and drop and configuring, those are the basics. It's a great solution for people who are in the initial phase of their business. They can use it to easily set up a store that includes product info, product pricing, add to cart, payment methods, gateway integration, menus, contact us forms, and inquiry forms. Anyone can set those features up in one day using Shopify. That's a huge benefit for our customers.

You don't have to pay for hosting. Shopify provides their own, very secure hosting and it's really fast. There are a number of great built-in features. In summary, Shopify offers ease-of-use, a secure and fast loading platform, and hosting — It's kind of a combo offer.

Shopify also provides a free plan for one month (you can cancel anytime you wish) so you can try it out and decide whether it's the right solution for you. You can easily set up an online store within the trial month and decide if you can handle your project alone or if you will be needing the help of a web developer. Many of our customers use the trial version to gain some understanding of the solution then contact us to help them take their store to the next level.

They don't provide database access. Instead, we need to rely on the apps and most of the apps are paid apps and on a subscription basis for roughly $10 dollars per month. Customization takes a lot of time so database access would make things a lot easier; that way, we wouldn't have to rely on apps.

Many of our clients complain because Shopify is costly and not an open-source. If you want to switch from Shopify to another platform, it's of no use; you can't use any of the assets from Shopify. You'll have to build a new website from scratch.

It would be great if they provided a way in which to expand or transition from Shopify to another solution, like Facebook E-Commerce, but this is not the case. I don't think that would be ideal for them, but it would be great for the customer.

I have been using Shopify for four years. 

The stability is excellent. You can download a backup in just 10 seconds and it's very easy to restore the backup, too. In all of my experience with them, I have never seen a Shopify store crash. On a scale from one to ten, I would give their stability a rating of ten.

The scalability is good. Initially, many clients start with hundreds of products, but over time, they expand to thousands of products. In this case, they need to upgrade from a standard Shopify account to a Shopify Plus account. Compared to the general platform, Shopify plus is expensive. In short, the scalability is absolutely fine — excellent, I should say. Also, you can use your existing setup, even if you add a Facebook, Instagram, or an Amazon store.

Their customer support is available 24 hours a day — from any country — and it's very good. If you tell them what you require, they will help you find the app that is suitable for you. Their support is very good. If the website crashes or if something unexpected happens, just reach out to them and they will respond quickly and fix the issue. I would give their customer support a rating of nine out of ten.

I also have experience with Magento, WordPress, WooCommerce, and Kajabi.

When compared to all of the above solutions, Shopify is the fastest, easiest to use, the most secure, and it features the best customer support. On the other hand, Shopify doesn't provide database access and customers find it a little bit expensive.

WordPress and WooCommerce are very slow and their security is not as good. The good thing about WordPress is that it's a free, open-source platform. In terms of customization, it's very flexible; you can do whatever you wish because it's PHP code. Whatever you want to do with WordPress or WooCommerce, you can do it for free, without an app.

Kajabi is very specific and exclusively for members, trainers, and teachers; t's mainly for landing pages. It's not free like the others and it's strictly designed for marketing purposes. Click funnels and other marketing tools are already built-in. It also doesn't allow for any kind of customization. There are predefined templates to list products and integrate payment, but that's about it.

Kajabi is a very simple platform. Just create a basic page, including the products and an add to cart function, and you're set. Keep in mind, it doesn't provide any kind of third-party integration.

Magento is quite robust. It also provides excellent flexibility. You can do whatever you want to do and It's also free; however, Magento is complicated to handle from the backend; It is slow as well — customization can take a long time. Magento also doesn't offer customer support. 

Magento stores product information in 500 files, whereas Shopify, WordPress, and WooCommerce store all product information in just one file. This makes it a little complicated to make changes or customizations.

A basic plan, to begin with, is good.

I have a basic plan. The basic plan starts at 29 USD per month. Depending on the client's requirements, they can choose either the basic plan or the premium plan. Based on how many products the user has, Shopify will make a suggestion as to which plan will be best. 

My clients definitely see a return on their investment with Shopify. With Shopify, you don't have to pay for hosting in advance. For all other platforms, including Magento, WordPress, and WooCommerce, you need to purchase external hosting. All external hosting plans range from a minimum of three months to one year.

With Shopify, you don't need a specialist to configure the domain name, etc. All you need is a basic plan and you're ready to go. If you don't like the results, you can close it at any time. In summary, it definitely saves our customers a lot of money.

By using Shopify, you're saving money on hosting fees and services. This is one of the biggest advantages for my clients.

With Shopify, you don't have to do anything: log into your Shopify account, choose a default theme — the free one —, create a logo, create as many pages as you want, put in content, set up the products and the store is up and ready.

A lot of my clients make good money using this solution, but it comes down to the products, service, the target audience, the pricing, and the competition in the market. Shopify has nothing to do with that; If the products and services are good, then our clients will make money.

Before choosing Shopify, make sure you know exactly what your requirements are. If you have requirements that require a lot of customization, then expect to pay more because only standard features are included within the basic plan. If your products are unique, like custom t-shirts and clothing, then It can get expensive. If you start with the basic plan and partway through, you realize you need the more specialized tools that are included in the paid plan, you can't just switch without losing all of your progress. For this reason, You need to be sure what your requirements are. 

Whenever I start working with new clients, I ask them to write a list, detailing the exact number of features and the number of products they wish to sell. This way, I can determine what type of account they'll be needing. 

The loading speed on Shopify Plus is a little slow, but that's due to the number of products.

Often, my clients have multi-currency options that they want to be included. I tell them that these features will require the use of apps that will cost extra and if they're fine with that, then we'll move ahead. Many customers don't want to pay for extra apps, which can be a problem. Specific requirements require the use of specific apps.  

All in all, I like Shopify, but I hate the app — it doesn't allow for full control. If you want to add something additional into the app, it requires way too much time. Sometimes I feel that it would be better if it was an open-source, like PHP coordinator.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Shopify a rating of seven.
