Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is a powerful product with a broad range of features.""The most valuable features of SAP Data Services lie in its ability to effectively observe and interpret the information within data related to people or facts, stands out.""I like how SAP Data Services links reporting and data integration. That's what's most interesting. You also have the opportunity to leverage the power of the Data Services server.""The product's most valuable features are data validation and rules.""The fact that it's built on SQL, it makes it easy to write code. The database and the connection are quite smooth.""The API tool in this product is very valuable; it is very easy to onboard and use.""The solution is easy to use since it's a graphical tool. It also requires only low-level coding.""The solution offers very good integration capabilities."

"Zapier is user friendly and makes it easy to integrate different tools. It has a drag and drop functionality which makes it easy to connect environments.""Webhooks are the most valuable feature of Zapier.""We can connect Zapier with Zoho CRM for lead generation. I like the tool's drag and drop feature.""Zapier handles everything under the sun that you would think you need in automation. It is the most mature integration platform and service on the market.""The ability to connect web applications to trigger actions in another app after having enriched, formatted, delayed, grouped, and filtered is really valuable for many businesses.""Zapier is a really good tool for connecting multiple different platforms and data sources. For example, with Quickbase, I can easily integrate data from other sources like AWS or task-tracking platforms such as ClickUp or Asana.""There are a few valuable features, like the stability that it comes with and also the number of features that it offers. I've used other services like Pabbly, but they don't offer similar numbers of applications that Zapier has or allows to integrate with – it's maximum.""Zapier luckily has a wide range of integrations, I would say."

Cons
"The solution could improve the overall features. There is a lot that can be done in the solution, therefor there are areas where it can improve. Additionally, there is a need to make it easier for one to create connections to other non-SAP systems. The flexibility to connect to other non-SAP systems is needed.""In the future, Data Services should offer a cloud version.""Integration with other products could be improved.""It would be nice if this solution was a bit easier to move from development to production.""At the integration level, there could be certain set of improvement to connect to various other systems.""The skillset of data engineers matters a bit to use all the functionality of this solution. Otherwise, the delivery speed won't be faster.""Newer feature integration is lagging behind the company acquisitions and the product could do more to service a broader range of devices.""Data Services SAP is lacking in sources and target databases compared to Informatica. SAP Data Services should have more connectivity."

More SAP Data Services Cons →

"The user interface for Zapier could be improved. It also takes some time to sync the data between different environments.""After mapping them out, and they'd worked for a while, I've had Zapier fail.""System-to-system is fine, but when it comes to system-to-user, where Zapier is helping to communicate to a user, that's a one-way communication. If that user has to perform some action on that notification, the action isn't handled by Zapier. So there's no way to orchestrate that and it's very cumbersome.""Being able to share Zaps and organize them with teammates would allow sharing and refining scenarios and even combining steps that require different people's credentials.""The pricing of the solution is quite expensive.""It is not worth the money if you have a little bit of a technical mind...Zapier is not able to set up different modules. When automation doesn't work, it's not that easy to find why it didn't work.""Zapier could be a little faster, but that might not be possible. I would encourage Zapier to make more API endpoints for each application""I would like to see them improve the Quickbase integration. Currently, it only allows triggering actions when records are added, but it would be more useful if we could also trigger actions when records are modified or deleted."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is good, there is no problem."
  • "The pricing is a little high to make the product more competetive in the marketplace."
  • "Its pricing is as per the enterprise agreement and not a concern for us."
  • "The price is very reasonable."
  • "There is a one time purchase fee plus annual maintenance."
  • "The price of SAP Data Services is a little high when compared to other solutions. Due to the pricing and capabilities, many clients are switching to other solutions."
  • "At the entry level, if you're using it only for data integration, it is a little bit cheap. However, for large organizations it can be expensive. There are additional costs apart from the license."
  • "The license price is expensive but medium to large-scale companies, should be able to afford it. Other solutions, such as Talend are easier to afford for smaller companies. Depending on the sources of the data where you are receiving your data you could be paying for more than one license."
  • More SAP Data Services Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "There is a free plan that is, of course, limited. However, it allows you to understand and check true scenarios for a while."
  • "Think your Zaps through to make sure you don't use more Zaps than you need."
  • "It's very straightforward licensing. There's only one cost you have to pay, and if you want a relevant pricing plan, I think you have two or three different models or packages which include the number of notifications or Zaps, as they call it, that you can program."
  • "The price of Zapier is approximately $75 monthly."
  • "Zapier is a paid service. Its license renews monthly, and Zapier will downgrade your subscription to the free version when your credit card doesn't have funds. That significantly impacts your service because everything halts completely. Zapier doesn't have any hidden costs."
  • "Per task, there is a monthly plan involving 15 euros...Also, in different forms, they just give you the ability to use different features. They charge 18.58 euros for the first standard plan, which includes 750 tasks. So, it is about 25 cents per task."
  • "It's very affordable."
  • "The least expensive plan is $24 a month, and you can go all the way to $800 a month if you're a huge company using many tasks."

    Reviews from Real Users

According to Michael Lutz, senior data warehouse developer at Fox Chase Cancer Center, SAP Data Services is a powerful tool that does a lot.

An associate consultant at a consultancy says the tool is easy to use, simple to implement, and offers very good mapping capabilities.

Zapier is a tool for primarily non-technical users to connect together web apps.

An integration between two apps is called a Zap. A Zap is made up of a Trigger and one or more Actions or Searches.

Whenever the trigger happens in one app, Zapier will automatically perform the actions or searches in another app in order.

Zaps are very lightweight and easy to set up. Zaps do not import or export old data (they only operate on new items created after the Zap is enabled). Zaps are also not kept in sync ("two way syncing") after the Zap is triggered.

Zaps are deceivingly simple if you're used to dealing with complex and difficult integrations. Their simplicity is what enables anyone to create them.
