We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward.""The price is low and quite competitive with others.""It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain.""This is stable and scalable.""It is stable and scalable.""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out.""The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers.""NGAV and EDR features are outstanding."

"It offers features like system hardening, vulnerability management, patch management, and device control, which are not present in other solutions.""What we like most about Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is its prompt response. We also like that it does scans on a daily basis, over every laptop or machine we set it for, and it also generates the report daily.""The solution is easy to use.""The performance is good.""The solution is very user friendly, which we appreciate.""One of the most valuable features of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is its cloud console allows users to remotely isolate a single computer from a network in the event of an attack, enabling them to perform root cause analysis without disrupting the entire network. This is particularly useful for organizations that may not have expert resources for endpoint detection and response.""Instead of having to wait for alerts, the IT security team can actively hunt for threats by proactively scanning endpoints to spot anomalies and security breaches.""Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum have met our requirements."

More Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum Pros →

"The firewall management and intrusion prevention are excellent; those are the critical differences between Symantec and most other products on the market, as they don't manage Windows Firewall or offer intrusion prevention.""The primary feature of the solution is antivirus scanning with IPS. It blocks viruses and uses a signature database, ensuring robust protection when configured correctly to meet our requirements.""The solution has integrated some AI tools for the automation of tasks.""The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.""The overall solution is good, particularly the detection engine. It performs well in identifying malware and conducting regular network scans. The product is easy to use.""We rely on Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise to safeguard our computer systems from malware. Occasionally, we have encountered issues related to antivirus or malware, but overall, the application has been instrumental in addressing these concerns.""We use the solution for detection.""Endpoint protection solution with machine learning, device control, and application control features. It is scalable and stable."

Cons
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""ZTNA can improve latency.""The support needs improvement.""The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud.""The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices.""We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels.""Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"I want Kaspersky to extend its products to internet protection. For example, I would like them to develop a firewall integrated with EDR.""Scalability depends on various factors.""The solution needs to give more control to users on firewalls.""The initial setup is a bit difficult.""EDR Optimum's scalability could be improved.""What I want to be added to Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is a single pane of glass management, where everything is integrated into a single pane of glass.""The solution can improve the uninstallation process. The removal of the agent can be difficult. The purpose is for security, but it requires a lot of time and sometimes a special tool.""I want the tool’s pricing to improve."

More Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum Cons →

"Needs to be more user-friendly; lacks a simple way to search data.""The product must develop some virus definition features.""In the past, I experienced companies that protected themselves with Symantec, suffering some attacks.""The solution could always be more stable and more user-friendly.""Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise could improve by giving notifications regarding identified threats.""When we asked the support team to relicense the original piece, the team ghosted us.""Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise needs to improve its manageability. It is not easy to manage.""The solution's management dashboard could be improved. An easier-to-use threat-hunting dashboard would make life easier for security analysts. Its support needs to improve for the African region."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) Optimum delivers straightforward defense-in-depth against complex and advanced threats with no additional overheads. Use automated and 'single-click' responses so you can ensure every last piece of the threat is rooted out of your system.
