I use JenniferSoft to monitor the performance and transaction traces of our applications The most valuable feature of the solution is the ability to divide the authorization of users because a lot of the people in our organization have different authorizations. The dashboard is a valuable…

Real-time alerts have reduced server outage impact and support fast incident response
In the dashboard, if they could show a little more metrics regarding the application and related things, that would be how New Relic could be improved. Currently, there are things showing from the server level and application level, but it can be improved. That is what I felt. Regarding user interface, I do not feel much concern, but for some kind of issues when we are trying to get support from the New Relic team, their SLA seems to be long. They are taking seven to ten working days for resolving some kind of scenario or issue. That is a bit difficult for us. If they could improve the customer support by reducing their SLA within three to five days, if they could remediate everything, that will be so much helpful. When it comes to the customer support part, I felt they need to be a little more improved on that part. The support overall is good, but they can improve. That is the reason I have given it eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The dashboard is a valuable feature."
"It is stable and scalable."
"They have baseline level alerting."
"Its greatest benefit comes from its ability to provide trending/marketing data."
"The technical support is quite good."
"Using New Relic speeds up troubleshooting and resolution, giving us a clearer picture of where issues are, thus saving time and effort."
"Reduced the worry in supporting live websites."
"With the help of New Relic APM, we managed to deliver an online B2B application with average response times below two seconds, where with v6, the average response times was about 30 seconds."
"The solution offers good documentation."

Cons

"The solution is pricy and has room for improvement."
"The main reason we switched away from New Relic is that the cost is too high."
"If we can find a way to communicate the need to use it, we use it, but we want a way to hand it off to our clients easily."
"They don't have an opportunity to share the dashboard with the public. If you want to share it with stakeholders or people outside the organization who just want to have a look at a couple of metrics, you can't do that without onboarding them to the product itself."
"I have noticed discrepancies between New Relic's documentation and Terraform resources."
"The solution is quite expensive."
"It doesn't give us rich process tracing, which is the only complaint I have."
"Some of our customers see New Relic as a promising product to have, and we would like to deliver it to them. The only way we would be able to do that would be if we had server appliance for clients that we could install in their data centres."
"Joining datasets. Currently, it’s only possible to pull data from a single event type."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"If I remember it correctly, the pricing was based on the core, and the monthly subscription used to cost us $1,500 or $2,000. We had pre-prod and production services. Costing was different for pre-prod and production. For pre-prod, it was 40% less than the production service cost. It was a combined package."
"The solution is less expensive than AppNeta."
"The new licensing model is great, as we pay for what we use (in computational units). However, the pricing is expensive compared to other tools."
"I loved this product, but we can no longer afford it, so we dropped it."
"This is an expensive product."
"The price depends on how many agents you want."
"We're paying for the New Relic APM license annually."
"The pricing and licensing are too high."
