Room For Improvement

Jamf Pro users seek better patch management, intuitive interface, improved support, lower costs, and broader integration beyond Apple devices.
Microsoft Intune needs enhanced reporting, compatibility, management, and user interface, focusing on integration, onboarding, support, and deployment improvements.
SOTI MobiControl requires better documentation, intuitive UI, enhanced reporting, improved device compatibility, and real-time support features.
The biggest area for improvement is the price and the structure of Jamf's onboarding process, especially the mandatory JumpStart consultation, which can be costly for small organizations.
Features like unlocking devices sometimes fail, and the support offered for other operating systems is insufficient.
There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now.
Many third-party companies offer single-pane-of-glass reporting that shows you what your update environment looks like, how your patch is doing, application status, etc., but Intune's reporting is not intuitive.
They need to integrate more with local resellers so they can fetch information from ISP providers and allow for a more detailed overview of device usage, such as internet packages.
Improvements are needed in UI aspects and in making the enrollment process simpler.
Incorporating AI could enhance the product by offering suggestions or preventive measures for device failures.

Setup Cost

Jamf Pro offers premium Apple device management, justified pricing, cloud services, training, and discounts, benefiting businesses and schools.
Microsoft Intune provides cost-effective pricing, especially within bundles, but standalone and high-tier features may increase expenses.
SOTI MobiControl's pricing varies by volume and deployment, often deemed expensive compared to competitors like Microsoft Intune.
The pricing structure is one of the cons.
Introductory professional services, like a fast-track service, were included with our E5 membership, and there have been no additional costs.
The Intune suite and add-ons, such as batch management and remote help, are costly.
It costs approximately forty euros per user per month.
For larger volumes, the cost per device is not expensive, but it becomes costly when the volume is lower.
I rate the pricing as an eight, which indicates it is on the more expensive side.

Valuable Features

Jamf Pro offers zero-touch deployment, remote management, automation, and easy integration with Apple's DEP, enhancing IT efficiency and user empowerment.
Microsoft Intune integrates with Microsoft 365 and Azure, offering centralized device management, security, and streamlined operations for enhanced protection.
Users value SOTI MobiControl for its user-friendly management, remote capabilities, security features, and effective support across multiple platforms.
The product automatically updates to include new security features, ensuring that customers are always using the latest version of macOS and app packages.
Intune excels in configuration and compliance management for Windows 10, ensuring devices receive timely updates and adhere to organizational standards.
Dynamic groups allow us to set conditions for automatic membership, eliminating the need for user intervention or manual review and ensuring a seamless workflow.
Windows Autopatch is the most valuable because it removes the burden of patch management.
It is valuable for deploying new software components, security patches, and other updates effortlessly through scheduled configurations.
The geofencing feature is particularly beneficial as it alerts us whenever a device exits a specified region, enhancing our security measures.
It allows me to easily view portals, add products, and push files quickly.

Customizable with a self-service portal and a good security posture
Policies enabled for self-service should have keywords attached, so that multiple search terms can direct to a single preferred result, without having to clutter the description field. The new remote support tool is still lacking features compared to other industry solutions. There is no built-in functionality for tracking changes over time for multiple devices. All patch reporting is only a current snapshot. The password management tools are fairly outdated. The web console (GUI) is slow with maddening UI/UX inconsistencies.

Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Provides enterprise mobility and remote control mobile device management
I would like to see some SMS integration so people can send data directly from a mobile phone through SMS when there's no internet. This feature would be good because there are some places in Africa where the internet stability isn't that good. During the voting process, they send the result through SMS. If SOTI can add the functionality where some of the clients can send information offline, via SMS, then that would be a good improvement for some places where there isn't a lot of internet stability.
