Pros

"It is very easy to add devices; just be aware that it requires SNMP to be enabled.""It gave us one location, one place to do all of group administration, and to build dashboards, and device administration, inventory counts... it really reduced our overall administrative overhead.""The integration to the other products that we use: NFA, we use ADA, we use Spectrum; and CAPM integrates all those into a single pane of glass.""One feature I like about CA Performance Management is the certification of the devices.""The out-of-the-box dashboards are valuable, in terms of being able to visualize performance data in ways that we haven't in the past.""The solution's performance itself is very good because it is a vertical database that loads very fast in comparison to other products.""The tool helps us understand network performance.""The ability to quickly do drag and drop customized reports for dashboards."

More DX Performance Management Pros →

"The most valuable feature is the network-related reporting.""We find the networking aspect of this solution to be the most valuable.""The setup was easy.""We don't have to keep an eye on it; it has a good automation option, which keeps us informed. It gives very less false positives. Overall, a really great product.""This is a good general monitoring system that has all the features we require and they constantly update with new capabilities.""The most valuable feature of ManageEngine OpManager makes it easy to monitor all the network alerts on the application.""The detections are fine when they work.""Flexibility in the two view dashboard helps viewers and admins get the information they need about the fetwork in a flash."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

"CA PM Business Hours Filtering: I understand that all monitoring systems have defects. The Business Hours Filtering does not always function properly. Sometimes, when applying business hours to CA PM reports that are 30 or more days in duration, the report generation times out and does not display results. We have other CA PM reports that, when we apply Business Hours Filtering, the report results displayed are the same as without the filter. We are not sure if this is a defect in CA PM or if it is a result of our complex configuration (folder structure) and application of business hours.""There are some areas in the technology right now, like with VMs, where we are lacking with our abilities to get inside the VM to monitor traffic within the machine.""The quantity of views which are tied to specific metric families is too high. Also, the problem is the view doesn't tell you which metric family it uses, so you don't know why you don't see data.""DX Performance Management should increase high availability. If one of my two data centers goes offline and the other is operational, I need a seamless transition from the primary to the secondary data center. It's crucial to maintain consistent monitoring of the devices during this transition. Therefore, I require continuous, 24/7 monitoring of my system using this tool.""It needs role-based administration.""Even though we can see when something is not available, it would also be it would be nice if some sort of alerting took place to that you could know immediately if something went down.""Global synchronization errors. Sometimes it just doesn't finish in time due to the load.""I have mixed feeling about the scalability. I feel like there are things which are being put into UIM right now that are not being included in Performance Center that we need to see in Performance Center. We are kind of being driven to buy UIM, and I can't justify it."

"The initial setup is a bit complicated. It needs a technician who is very aware of the flow and how to officially set up the flow chart, etc.""What I'd like ManageEngine OpManager to improve on is artificial intelligence. In particular, the machine learning feature should be integrated with the sensor flow. Doing this will give leverage, especially when you look at other products such as the Cisco DNA Center. When a switch goes down, I should be able to build on the correlation of other physical devices it's connected to so that I can integrate that with my CA CMDB. The ManageEngine OpManager team needs to draw a long-term roadmap where that feature becomes an integral part of the solution because right now, machine learning in ManageEngine OpManager is a long process. The solution doesn't have MLS search and I want to see ML being developed and applied for CA CMDB to greatly reduce the burden of tying everything. For example, if I have a data center switch that goes down now, I should know what server it's connected to, and when that switch goes down at twenty-four ports, I would get twenty-four alerts for different devices plugged in. I should be able to make a correlation that the major problem lies in the switch and not with the twenty-four elements connected to that switch. That is where machine learning should come into play and the ManageEngine OpManager AI should indicate "This is where the root of your problem is." It could be difficult, but this is a feature that should be improved or added to the solution.""Real user and UI monitoring are not practical.""The dashboard has some limitations and should be more user-friendly.""There needs to be improvements to make the solution capable of supporting more devices, and it would be good to see an option for automatic deployment.""The main area for improvement for ManageEngine OpManager is its performance.""You cannot resolve 100 percent of the issues yourself. You would need to reach out to the support. It needs to be cheaper.""The licensing for this solution is not straightforward and should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "We were looking at other vendors in the marketplace for NetFlow, and CA just beat everybody else in price, cost, and the size to implement. "
  • "Do your homework and know how many devices you will be managing out of the gate. Be sure to project what your growth will be each year."
  • "They should provide more scalable licensing for the product."
  • "I like the licensing model because it's device-based."
  • "We purchase a license to use the solution every three years and we have multiple contracts. They have been increasing the price annually. We have a baseline for three years and then we need to pay the difference from the baseline, and we are in the process of negotiating a new price for all the licenses we need. The price overall is affordable."
  • "The tool's pricing is based on the number of network devices."
  • More DX Performance Management Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "As far as cost, it was around six hundred thousand rands ($40,500) for the year, for the renewals. That's the total cost for a four thousand node system including support and maintenance."
  • "The licensing costs depend on the number of devices and accounts that are being monitored by the solution."
  • "The initial cost is low and the add-ons are reasonable."
  • "We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000 for OPManager, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000."
  • "The licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing is on the cheaper side."
  • "In terms of pricing, I would rate it a two out of five. It was expensive."
  • "ManageEngine OpManager has a three-tier licensing model."
  • "We have a standard license for ManageEngine OpManager. We purchased the license for one year and now we are upgrading it soon."
