Have improved workflow efficiency through custom reports but encountered formatting limitations
The downsides of Domo are that we don't have a feature in the same column. When data comes in a time format, text format, and number format, we cannot segregate and create conditional formatting in that column. If in the future they develop this feature, it will benefit more users. Domo requires maintenance on my end, such as updates. I am maintaining some dashboards on a weekly basis and monthly basis daily reports. Because we need to upload in SFTP, we cannot schedule or auto-schedule due to rate purposes. We manually handle the data sets. If there were an option to reduce the cost, it would be easier to access.

Cost effective with great capability, performance, flexibility and visuals
In general, we're happy with the solution but we're always looking to see what else is out there. The thing we've struggled with is our partnership with Tagetik UK, the consultants, and the issue we had gaining access to consultants to develop the solution on our behalf. Thankfully we connected directly with XLCubed and now have a pretty close and good relationship with them so the earlier problem we had of actually getting resources to help us develop has now been solved. One of the things that we've been asking for and would like as an additional feature is a sort of benchmarking functionality. The ability to be able to benchmark, directly against the company digital corporate numbers. That said, there seems to be improved functionality within the latest release that could help us develop that further.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool has some potential, but as of two years ago, it was still a long way from fulfilling on the promise."
"The pipeline features and data ingestions in Domo are quite good."
"The stability of Domo is excellent."
"It has helped with productivity and efficiency, saving me an estimated 10 to 15 hours a week and enabling our team to share real-time, accurate data across the country so business decisions are made more efficiently and accurately."
"Overall, Domo really transformed how we worked with data."
"The user interface is quite good."
"I think the ROI was a month and a half, it was really fast."
"We have absolutely seen return on our investment."
"The solution has great capability, performance, flexibility, visuals, everything, and we also have a very good relationship with the consultants and the solution is also very cost effective."
"I am looking forward to testing their full graphics that are available, as they looked very interesting in the demo."

Cons

"We were vastly over-sold. Domo was sold as an easy-to-implement-yourself product, but this is completely unrealistic."
"It was pretty expensive. The cost didn't justify keeping it around when you look and compare it to other existing tools in the business."
"I would like to see improved data intake."
"One of the improvements that could be made is related to improved storage options."
"The utilization part: We cannot play much with the UX/UI. While they have APIs, they kept on failing if the data volume was too large."
"It's too early for me to say that something needs improvement, but there are times when there have been some flexibility issues with Domo... Tableau has a window function which can be integrated into a calculated field. That is missing in Domo so you have to make changes to the data set using ETL or SQL."
"There are areas to improve on like visualization options, and there are areas I think would be valuable for Domo to explore, such as data governance, and providing sandbox or development instances, but updates are frequent and smooth, and the value of the tool in its simplicity and ability to drive user adoption far outweighs any missing visualization features."
"There were very few cases on some of the tables, the data tables, where I wish there was an additional feature or two."
"Would like the ability to be able to benchmark."
"It's quite a stable solution although we sometimes encounter issues internally within our IT department with regard to the structure."
"At this time, I cannot recommend this solution to others because I cannot connect."
"There should be a better or an easier way to establish that connection to external sources."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I believe that the investment in Domo was worthwhile because it allowed for the organization to jump in quickly, with little training. There are different plans available based on the requirements."
"The solution is expensive compared to one of its competitors."
"The price that they offered was around $200 per user license. It was pretty cheap at that time compared to other companies. I think they have revamped their pricing structure since then."
"It is on the pricier end."
"The pricing differs from customer to customer, depending on the package."
"For about 100 users our cost is $95,800."
"It started out at about $600 a seat. However, then as we started to grow, it scaled that down to about $330 or 3$50 a seat, if I'm not mistaken."
"Domo is slightly costly but it's much cheaper than some."
"I am still using the two-week trial, but at first sight, the price is reasonable."
"14,000 Pounds per year for licensing."
