Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Business processes are automated efficiently with a well-designed interface
There is room for improvement in integrations and customizations for AgilePoint and other low-code, no-code solutions. Additionally, the marketing of such products should be more honest. They often claim to solve all process automation needs, but they only handle problems of certain complexity. AgilePoint cannot handle highly complex processes like ERPs.

Automation has transformed document processing and frees teams to focus on higher‑value analysis
Sometimes, we encounter system errors that could be resolved via support, but connection issues are more frequent in enterprise applications. However, these can usually be solved by raising tickets if you are part of an enterprise, though we are not, which makes it somewhat challenging. It is vital to ensure the connections of UiPath Platform are maintained because it has a larger community. If UiPath Platform website included more features and documentation accessible easily, it would greatly enhance the experience. Instead of continually needing to raise support tickets, having a documentation hub where details can just be entered to retrieve required documents would be extremely beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The speed-up and greater control over the quality of the processes have also led to savings in money and are increasing the happiness of the company's customers."
"I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine out of ten."
"It has saved us a lot of hours, manual effort, and we can focus on more important tasks, which helps us with our ROI."
"AA brings a lot of benefits for our organization in a number of different ways."
"Using Automation Anywhere has improved our company significantly, as we are doing over eight to 10,000 invoices a month, which people had to do before, while now the automated process is doing that without too much human intervention, saving probably about at least two to possibly three FTEs per week."
"The feature of this solution that I like the most is that it is coding free - it is a coding free tool. It does not need much coding at all. For all the activities you just drag and drop. That is the best advantage of this tool."
"Automation Anywhere is a ten out of ten."
"We have a very resourceful pipeline to use AA bots in our RPA projects and we are looking to be more engaged with the AA team in deploying these bots."
"The solution's workflows are its most useful feature."
"The initial setup of AgilePoint was very easy."
"AgilePoint's most valuable feature is process management."
"AgilePoint's automation is excellent in managing different user roles and handling data associated with a particular instance of the workflow."
"AgilePoint has improved our organization by making form implementation easier and to plan for future growth."
"Anytime companies need any solution with workflow, they can base it on AgilePoint, because AgilePoint allows companies to design and implement workflows very fast using the system's interface."
"I like the design and the integration capacity, and it's also easy to use."
"The ML/NLT models are good because they help with data recognition."
"It's accessible, but also has enough features for more hands-on developers to be able to do what they need to do. From the two that I've seen, it was the more user-friendly one."
"The Orchestrator is great because you schedule it, and that's it, you don't have to worry about it."
"We have roughly 30 automations, some that run once a quarter, some once a month, mostly they run throughout the day, saving us around a thousand hours per month, and we have done that for the past seven years or so."
"We like how UiPath is designed for low-code or no-code users. It's less complicated, enabling everyone to use it with only a basic knowledge of automation or data. Generally, I also like UiPath's ability to mine processes and analyze user interactions to generate analytics."
"Since implementing UiPath, it has saved our clients a lot of time."
"The solution has helped our organization save costs; it has likely saved us about $10 million."
"It saves us time redoing work and allows our humans to do other stuff."

Cons

"The expectations of what we thought was possible, versus what appears to be possible, were a little bit off."
"The Automation Anywhere Control room component features can be improved, as of now it contains too many roles and rules which makes it confusing to use it."
"They have done a fairly good job on the RPA space, but more and more, the whole cognitive AI space and machine learning are where I see the industry actually going. I'm sure Automation Anywhere is also focused on that topic, but we would like to see more coming down the pipe, as early as possible."
"There should be more available Data Analytics and more AI Front and Deep Learn concepts."
"With our current version, we are experiencing issues with the access of the Control Room. Therefore, at the moment, we cannot really scale."
"We would like to be able to directly implement automation for Word documents and XML."
"There are areas of improvement needed, such as complex decision-making skills. When updates are made, the IQ Bot's actions can be affected, leading to decision-making failures."
"Sometimes, the recorder from Automation Anywhere does not work well and is inaccurate. This should be improved."
"Technical support is very slow to respond and they need to be quicker in getting back to clients when problems arise."
"They should add more information about functionality."
"Some issues with AgilePoint's design, AI and UX are some of the major problems we deal with when handling our company's business models or processes."
"Integrations and customizations should be improved in AgilePoint and other low-code solutions."
"While the platform is good and it has a lot of options, I would like to see more alternative features in future versions such as connectors to IDM. Currently, they have only ADFS and Okta."
"The solution should be able to support Docker. This would help make scalability easier."
"It could be more flexible, but it's already a good solution for the designer."
"UiPath should offer an on-demand cloud-type model where you can get bots for five minutes, ten minutes, an hour, or whatever duration you need."
"I'm not sure if UiPath has sped up or reduced the cost of digital transformation. It's a tough question, as the license for the solution is too expensive right now."
"Data extraction via PDF needs to be reviewed, although working fine with OCR, it still leaves a craving for PDFs with image source."
"UiPath's interface and user experience could be improved. The name is UiPath, but their UI is not that great. It's outdated. It seems like a 2014 or 2015 software. They should look at other products on the market."
"This is a good solution, but there are still gaps and the product could be more mature."
"One of the things that we are lacking right now is not stability, but usability with debugging, e.g., when you can't see what went wrong. We have to look through 50,000 pages of logs or so."
"We aren't scaling up UiPath because it doesn't provide a satisfactory way to log and monitor data. Instead, we use other tools like Automation Anywhere for large-scale operations in our production environment. We're building solutions that can handle a huge amount of data so we can monitor real-time issues. I don't think UiPath solves that case for us."
"It lacks something crucial, which is a map of the variables and arguments."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"They have a ridiculously expensive bot licensing structure, especially for the Asian region."
"It is subscription-based. They have different schemes. The price depends on how you negotiate with the local partner or local representative in your country."
"The price of this product is good."
"Subscription for Automation Anywhere (AA) is paid yearly."
"One of the things that will be good for the community will be to get the free version to download, which came out just a month ago called Community Edition. So, you can actually download it and try it for yourself."
"We save 34,000 hours of time per year and have recouped up to $6000 in lost revenue."
"Time-wise: We have saved hundreds of thousands of hours."
"My only suggestion in terms of pricing is very generic and that is to consider that as much as RPA saves cost and does automation, please get a realistic estimation done on whether you are really achieving any ROI over your investment with RPA."
"It is more cost-effective than local tools."
"Price-wise, AgilePoint is a cheap tool and a standard application for running analytics in an IT environment."
"I believe the pricing has changed recently. We had purchased one license per server, and it was about $2,000. It was a one-time payment. It's possible that they have recently implemented a new cost structure and now have yearly subscriptions."
"I think the price is reasonable."
"We see some elements in the license model that we're trying to figure out how to utilize. There have been some elements in the license model where UiPath has helped us solve them commercially, and having a license model which is more focused on scalability would be a great feature."
"UiPath is expensive."
"The licensing is close to optimum; however, there is room for improvement in both the cost and flexibility of the licenses."
"The price is reasonable, although Orchestrator is really costly. Not many organizations will be able to afford that, but without Orchestrator, you can't do bot management. It becomes pretty difficult. UiPath has to focus on orchestration pricing."
"UiPath is affordable compared to Blue Prism or AutomationEdge. A basic license covers the cost of implementation and recurring fees that depend on the complexity of the processes and workflows."
"I would rate the pricing of UiPath eight out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"UiPath's cost is moderate."
"UiPath is somewhat expensive."
