Encounter challenges in troubleshooting but experience efficient customer support
The application itself is a bit bloated. Although it has a lot of features when it comes to troubleshooting, we don't basically know where to start even though we do give them the log files to troubleshoot they don't give us a proper solution set. So I would say because it's bloated, it's a bit more difficult to troubleshoot where you get certain errors. From my side, on the POC I didn't really need to do much. It's only after we discovered there was a compatibility issue with the application that the client was running that we actually had to do a lot of log file shipping to Acronis themselves and getting solutions because of other problems. So on a day-to-day basis, you don't even maintain it, you just forget about it. You get alerts, but usually in between. It's quite easy to manage. To be honest with you, since I didn't really test that option of Acronis Cyber Protect, it's supposed to make everything feasible and easy to manage but I never got the option of testing it out, so I cannot really say at this stage.

Functional application availability
There are not many options available for AIX backup. They provide the agent for AIX, but it could be more mature, and they should improve that option. They also provide the AIX agent, which is similar to the Windows and Linux agents. Since we use AIX machines, we need to take backups of those machines. However, the options available in that agent are limited. Therefore, the new version should have improvements in that area.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

"Universal Restore is valuable to us."
"The main reasons that our customers like Acronis are that it is very strong and easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to back up and recover our production environment from ransomware."
"For me, the cost is a significant advantage."
"It is a very stable solution."
"For local backups, it has options to back up almost any storage. The back can be either a shared folder or anything you want, it's pretty flexible."
"I don't have any major problems with the agent connectivity with Microsoft applications or Microsoft Azure."
"I like working on the Azure platform."
"Solution provides good security."
"We found the initial setup to be quite simple."
"User-friendly data backup and protection solution for a Windows environment. The Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is very scalable, stable, and has good compatibility and integration."
"It is good and easy to use for backing up physical servers. It is working fine, and it is stable and scalable."
"The Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is easy to use and performing a recovery is easy to do."
"This is a good product with a simple environment."

Cons

"The UI performance can be slow at times, especially when handling operations like checking backup status or initiating a restore. The response time for these actions could be improved."
"It would be better if they made it easier to obtain images for laptops and desktops. It isn't easy right now to have many different types of desktop computers. This is because Microsoft is changing a lot of things in Windows 10."
"It would be nice to have it on the cloud platform without using third-party equipment."
"At this stage, Acronis Cyber Protect helps me to overcome nothing because it actually caused more problems than it solved."
"It would be nice if it could support more types of storage: EMC, HPE, Veeam, etc."
"One improvement that could be made is adding the option to download files in a PST format when doing a 365 or Google Cloud to cloud backup."
"The solution could be better if some of the features were more in-depth."
"This is not a feature-rich solution."
"A lower price would always be beneficial."
"I would like there to be more integration with other platforms."
"It is not always easy to update this solution to the newer version, so the update process needs to be improved."
"If they could let you can do replication to physical servers - a backup from physical servers and a replication to physical servers - that will be better."
"I've found a lot of difficulties on the initial setup and especially in terms of credentials. We really need a Window OS. It doesn't like the domain admin account. it's a primary permission issue."
"Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows should improve by having more features, easier deployment, and compatibility with Unix boxes."
"The backups can go slow."
"Interface could possibly be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would say that at the pricepoint that it's at, it's definitely worth the money."
"Doing what this is capable of doing, the cost of it is in line."
"It is a low-cost solution."
"The pricing is significantly higher than it was last year, which is understandable since they have introduced new technology, such as transitioning from backup to cybersecurity."
"The tool's subscription costs are monthly. The product's pricing is fair."
"There is a license required for this solution and it can be on a monthly basis."
"The price is reasonable."

"We are on an annual license to use Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows. There are not any additional fees to use the solution."
"We purchased a three-year license, and I think that the prices are ok."
"Pricing is based on license packaging and duration. Longer term licenses are less per year and license packages also offer a discount."
"The solution is inexpensive, more so than other products."
"Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
"It is less expensive than one of its variants."
"There are costs in addition to the standard licensing fees, and pricing can be a disadvantage or a weakness for this solution."
