Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Functional application availability
There are not many options available for AIX backup. They provide the agent for AIX, but it could be more mature, and they should improve that option. They also provide the AIX agent, which is similar to the Windows and Linux agents. Since we use AIX machines, we need to take backups of those machines. However, the options available in that agent are limited. Therefore, the new version should have improvements in that area.

Pros

"The stability of Acronis Cyber Protect is very high."

"The performance has been fine so far."
"The AI-based antimalware feature in Acronis Cyber Protect is very effective in preventing cyber threats, providing inception into threats and how to react with them before securing, and is a great asset as a feature."
"It is a very stable solution."
"The tool’s licensing and pricing are economical for SMB customers."
"The solution has all the features I need and user friendly."
"The Acronis panel is user friendly and tracking backups across a number of different devices is great. Acronis provides prompts and reminders to users if certain files are not backed up."
"It's straightforward to set up."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to navigate inside a backup point to look for a specific folder or data you want to recover."
"The solution is meeting all of our client's requirements. It has good performance."
"The installation of Veeam Agent is straightforward."
"Veeam is very useful for the Hyper-V environment."
"I love Veeam because it is very easy to work with."
"The most valuable feature is application availability, which allows us to monitor all agents and accounts."
"I don't have any major problems with the agent connectivity with Microsoft applications or Microsoft Azure."

Cons

"It does not delete locked files."
"The dashboards for digital operations can be improved."
"No technical support and minimal documentation."
"The solution's error handling can be improved specifically for Linux errors."
"The pricing could be improved."
"Currently, there is no option to use the tape drives again as a backup repository for the cloud deployment."
"For smaller companies it's a little more challenging to maintain."
"On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly."
"The solution's compression ratio and high speed for backing up can always improve. Aspects that need improvement are less time, better quality, higher security, and more compression. These are continuous requirements for any customer."
"There are not many options available for AIX backup. They provide the agent for AIX, but it could be more mature."
"I would like to have more flexibility in terms of reporting details about the backup."
"There really are no cons. The product simply has to maintain development to keep up with changes in the operating system."
"With the currency exchange, the solution ends up being quite expensive."
"I can't think of anything that may be missing."
"If you are doing an AIX backup then you have to use the CLI because it doesn't appear on the console, the way that Windows and Linux jobs do."
"Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows should improve by having more features, easier deployment, and compatibility with Unix boxes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay a yearly subscription fee and the pricing is reasonable."
"We have a Cyber Cloud backup license and we have on-premises storage. Both can be useful for our customers."
"It is very cost-effective for the SMB segment, especially for start-ups and smaller environments. It is cost-effective for on-premises and on-cloud deployments in such environments."
"The price is reasonable."
"The pricing is significantly higher than it was last year, which is understandable since they have introduced new technology, such as transitioning from backup to cybersecurity."
"Pricing is what it is. I don't shop around once I find a good solution. I insist they maintain ongoing support year after year for updates and tech support."
"The license is a perpetual license. The cost is an area for improvement."
"Our licenses come with a one-time yearly subscription fee."
"For the licensing of Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows, the customer can choose to pay monthly or yearly. It's up to the customer."
"It is less expensive than one of its variants."
"We have the Community Edition and I believe we bought a license for 200 instances. Veeam Agent is mainly used for our branch offices. Those only have one or two Hyper-V servers, so it's covered with the Community Edition. Basically, it's free. I remember Veeam 7.0 or 8.0 wasn't free, but the Community Edition is."
"We are on an annual license to use Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows. There are not any additional fees to use the solution."
"We pay for a three-year subscription to use Veeam Agent."
"The cost for its licenses is reasonable and as per industry standards."
"We have a license package."
"We have a cloud provider agreement with Veeam. We are also paying for the agent."
