Handles large volumes of data with ease, but the self-service portal must be more user-friendly
My advice depends on an organization’s needs. If an organization has a large volume of data, Delphix is a good choice. It is robust and very efficient with large volumes of data and different kinds of databases. If someone is looking for a one-stop solution with all features and capabilities, they must consider a different tool. Overall, I rate the product a six or seven out of ten.

Functional application availability
There are not many options available for AIX backup. They provide the agent for AIX, but it could be more mature, and they should improve that option. They also provide the AIX agent, which is similar to the Windows and Linux agents. Since we use AIX machines, we need to take backups of those machines. However, the options available in that agent are limited. Therefore, the new version should have improvements in that area.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The solution's most valuable feature is data cloning."
"Delphix's technical support is fairly knowledgeable."
"Delphix interfaces are simple to use and very user friendly."
"It is a stable solution."
"The most valuable feature is VDB provisioning."
"Delphix can do data masking in any format. Not many solutions can do that."
"Delphix's data distribution is powerful. It's easy to distribute data with this solution. The main advantage of Delphix is that it generates copies of data."
"The most valuable aspect is the product is easy to manage, with a good dashboard. We can easily configure it on the front end and back end."
"Veeam helps to create a stable environment with virtual servers."
"The most valuable feature is application availability, which allows us to monitor all agents and accounts."
"The Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows is easy to use and performing a recovery is easy to do."
"The product is free to use. We don't have to pay for a license."
"The initial setup, if it is error-free, is very simple."
"The initial setup is very straightforward."
"This is a reliable system that supports Veeam backup and recovery for Windows."
"Veeam is very user-friendly and intuitive software."

Cons

"My only complaint about this solution is the price."
"The solution’s self-service portal must be more interactive and user-friendly."
"When it comes to unstructured and structured data, if Delphix can comply with the requirements for most of the structured data, it would be good, especially if it can include the data scanning part."
"Delphix is a strong solution for virtualization, but it's not strong enough for creating data, so we have to use another solution for creating new data."
"GUI could be improved."
"It would be good if any CI/CD and DevOps-aligned feature could be triggered through the DevOps pipeline."
"This product should be extended and made to be a more comprehensive storage solution."
"One thing I would like to see improved is the unusual error messages we receive and some slowness we have while we are updating."
"If they could let you can do replication to physical servers - a backup from physical servers and a replication to physical servers - that will be better."
"In the next release, I would like to see it easier to implement."
"The solution's compression ratio and high speed for backing up can always improve. Aspects that need improvement are less time, better quality, higher security, and more compression. These are continuous requirements for any customer."
"The predictability of the solution needs improvement. Sometimes, if it's doing something at the back end, it may go slow. Today, the backup completion took four hours, but sometimes it can do the backup in 30 minutes or an hour. With solutions like NetBackup, I can predict to a much higher degree of certainty how long something will take to complete."
"They should improve the solution's automation features."
"There should be an option to use the solution for physical machines."
"Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows should improve by having more features, easier deployment, and compatibility with Unix boxes."
"I would like there to be more integration with other platforms."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the product price seven to eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is the low price, and ten is the high price."
"The cost is $370K annually for the Delphix Masking Engine and Delphix Virtualization Engine."
"The solution's pricing was reasonable and lower than one million."
"The product is a little bit expensive."
"It is an expensive solution."
"I would say the price is a little high but affordable for our needs."
"Delphix's pricing is affordable."
"We pay for a three-year subscription to use Veeam Agent."
"We have the Community Edition and I believe we bought a license for 200 instances. Veeam Agent is mainly used for our branch offices. Those only have one or two Hyper-V servers, so it's covered with the Community Edition. Basically, it's free. I remember Veeam 7.0 or 8.0 wasn't free, but the Community Edition is."
"The solution is free of cost for end users but for enterprise use, a license per user is required."
"The pricing is good."
"The licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis, and the fees are much lower than what I pay for NetBackup."
"The solution is inexpensive, more so than other products."
"It is less expensive than one of its variants."
"Pricing is based on license packaging and duration. Longer term licenses are less per year and license packages also offer a discount."
