We are an MSP, so we provide TitanHQ SpamTitan to our customers. It is primarily used for email security.

The most valuable features of TitanHQ SpamTitan are how effective it is and how little maintenance it requires. It just does its job, and I never have to fix it. The threat intelligence capabilities are also useful, allowing me to drill down as much as needed. It works perfectly for email security without any issues.

We use SpamTitan for email security.

SpamTitan has helped us maintain a zero threat level, which is fantastic. The system also assists us in managing email effectively, eliminating spam and ensuring that our communications are secure. Since implementing SpamTitan, our organization's email-related concerns have significantly diminished.

SpamTitan has an anti-spam solution, but it's basic and doesn't work all the time. It also has an antivirus feature, which is similarly basic. It doesn't offer anything exceptional. It offers only the basics. 

OnlyMyEmail was far superior. I'm not sure who acquired their technology when they went bankrupt.

It filters some of the spam.

SpamTitan advertises anti-spam, anti-phishing, and anti-spear phishing, but it's mostly marketing. They really only do basic anti-spam, nothing more.

It's less secure with a lot more spam and false positives than my previous product, OnlyMyEmail.

So, there's room for improvement with SpamTitan. It filters some of the spam. But honestly, I could get 90% of the same results by updating my Bayesian filters on my server, which are free.

Our entire bank is using SpamTitan in a virtualized environment at several locations. It migrates from one server room to a different one. For example, if a server room goes down, it just migrates to the second one, then it goes up there. We have a single SpamTitan virtual appliance, which is on both sides of our data center. When a data center is down or very load heavy, it just migrates to the second one and we work through there.

We have a lot less spam going through. Because of this, work hours are not lost searching through all the spam emails to determine which ones are legitimate. This saves our bank clients' time since they are not forced to search their inbox for legitimate emails between spams. Not a lot of spam is going through. I think time is essential and we are gaining a lot of it with this solution since a lot of emails are automatically filtered out. 

We have gained back 50% of our time. Our management had some contacts with huge amounts of spam coming. For example, every morning at 10:00 AM, one of our managers already had more than 100 emails. Of those 100 emails, more than 80 emails were spam. He had an easy email to guess, making it easy for spammers to add him to their spam portals.

We utilize the solution to send all our email to their cloud to filter it.

The biggest benefit of being a partner of TitanHQ is being able to offer their products across the board, whether the client is a small company with five people, or a growing or midsize company, and it even works for some large companies. WebTitan even comes with an on-prem DNS proxy, so you can also proxy all your information. You can also dictate who has access, who gets filtered, and who doesn't get filtered. For us, it's quite easy to sell it because it's not overly complicated and it doesn't require lots of modules.

With SpamTitan there are large savings for IT because they are not bombarded with phishing emails and thousands of spam emails, bad URLs, and bad domain names. The filtering technology helps safeguard their environment and, by the same token, it actually frees up time for folks to do some work that is native to their environment and not waste time.

It helps employees save time, as well, because they're getting the emails that they expect. It could be saving them 90 minutes a day, on average, and maybe more, if people have some training. If we're talking about IT folks who earn in the range of $90,000 to well over $100,000, 90 minutes times 10 guys could be over $1,000 a day in savings. It adds up fast.

If you're dealing with email threats, users will not use their email if they think they have been attacked, so they won't be working. The IT guys that handle tickets are then tied up and have to manage the tickets. A ticket goes up the chain to the correct group and they have to analyze it and decide whether it's something they can do or if it goes further up. If they can't handle it, it's going to go up to cyber security. We're talking about four or five people that have touched it, each spending 10 or 15 minutes. Multiply that by X dollars and it adds up. They have to get in touch with the user, check the unit, and they might have to take that person offline. And maybe the person who makes a lot of money a year is tied up for an hour. Before you know it, you're $1,500 in the hole, just for one phishing email, because you don't want it spreading, and you don't want the person on the network. It's a snowball effect. One wrong click and you could be in trouble really fast.

We're a relatively small company, and SpamTitan provides our spam filtering solution. I have 16 email boxes out there right now, including individual email addresses and generic email addresses for sales, customer service, etc. Outside of the normal SpamTitan features, we don't use any other TitanHQ products or any other features aside from filtering and reporting.

To be honest, it wasn't much of an improvement over Barracuda except for the price point. Barracuda had more granularity as far as how deep I could dig. I think that had more to do with the fact that we had the appliance on-site, so it gave me more features. 

On the other hand, SpamTitan is effortless to manage and administer. They do a lot more behind the scenes, so I can't access the configuration. However, I honestly don't think I needed most of the configuration options that I had with Barracuda. A lot of that was overkill. I can understand where some companies might need more of it, but it was absolutely fine for our needs. 

Spam filtering, in general, is a big time saver. We've had a spam filter for many years now. I think we originally bought Barracuda in 2005 or 2006. The difference between having a spam filter and not having one is night and day. Our CEO was getting upwards of about 600 emails per day, and that went down to around 40. He was pleased with the results we got from Barracuda. SpamTitan maintained that performance. The amount of unwanted emails is minimal compared to what we see in our reports.

SpamTitan probably saves hours of time. It also prevents employees from missing important emails because they have become desensitized to them. Spam makes email less effective as a communications tool. You stop looking at your email when all you get is junk all the time. 

I don't get much employee feedback about spam filtering, but there were some new features when we switched to SpamTitan. For example, Barracuda wouldn't give you a report, but SpamTitan sends a daily individual report to each user identifying questionable emails in quarantine and asking them if they want to allow them. 

It took a couple of days to get everyone trained and on board with how it worked. Nobody complains or says anything about it. Occasionally, someone misses an email they're expecting, and I have to show them that the email might be in quarantine. The impacts are minimal. 

Our primary use case is as a secure email gateway; the solution scans our emails for spam and viruses and does URL link rewriting. SpamTitan makes sure our incoming and outgoing emails don't contain anything problematic.

Before implementing the solution, I had 13,000 to 14,000 sitting in my Deleted Items folder on 90 day rolling average. The figure after implementing SpamTitan is 8,000 to 9,000 items in my Deleted Items folder on a 90 day rolling average, so it's stopping thousands of emails that got through before.

We are part of a larger University organization, and many spam emails come from the broader organization. They run Office 365, and there is spam it doesn't catch, despite user reporting. SpamTitan filters out the emails Office 365 misses, for the most part, as no solution is 100% effective all the time.

We use TitanHQ SpamTitan in our organization and deploy it as a service for our clients. The primary use case is as a spam filter and for email sandboxing, which allows suspicious emails to be isolated, safely analyzed, and deleted if necessary. We have used the sandboxing feature for a month and implemented it for our clients instead of Microsoft 365 Defender because it's now included in the SpamTitan solution.

We realized the benefits from day one because it filters out all the spam emails. That means we don't need to spend time examining or deleting spam emails because the product does that for us.
