Customization has enabled long-term document and requirement management for complex projects
PTC Integrity should get rid of the old thick client and move everything to the thin client. The thin client should be made the single source of truth, the way it is for Codebeamer. PTC Integrity should try to integrate this with AI and should have automatic requirement to test case mapping and other AI features that are in Codebeamer. It is not easy for people to migrate from one tool to another, even though it is from the same product. PTC took over the In-Link product, so if I have to migrate my Integrity to In-Link, why would I replicate everything here? People are happy with what they have. The only headache is the thick client, which is a problem for the installation team. By having a thin client, people can directly open it from the web browser and it would be much easier and much better than a thick client on the system. With a thick client, you have Java installation that needs to be done and you have all those certificates to be installed for SSL. With a thin client, it would be much better and you could do all the administrative things also in that. I don't understand why they want a thick client. They could replace it with a thin client, the way it is for Codebeamer. They should incorporate all the AI things. PTC Integrity should become another tool with all the new features and new enhancements, and they should eliminate the thick client altogether.

Drilling into change lifecycles has given me clear end to end traceability for every item
Reporting is my main area of concern. Additionally, the migration activity and portability are important areas for improvement. If I needed to move from Jira to Rally Software, having built-in portability or migration utilities would be beneficial. At the time of my use, there was not an inbuilt capability to migrate applications from other third-party solutions to Rally Software. Currently, I am not using Rally Software.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have been using it because it gives certain abilities in the automotive industry, such as auditing or keeping track of information."
"It's a good tool to manage software versions, update the status, and manage tasks."
"The most valuable feature is traceability starting from the requirements until the end of a project."
"I have found that previously, the OEM sector was managing everything, possibly manually. However, with the introduction of the product, it has become much easier for customers to handle their products. Previously, customers were using different software to manage their products. However, PTC Integrity offers a solution for requirements management, test management, and even development to support live ticket management. So instead of using multiple software tools, we can use it for all these purposes."
"The solution is flexible in terms of customization. You can bend and reformat it in many ways. You can also customize the APIs and public functions."
"The tool is quite structured and has a good command set."
"The most valuable feature of PTC Integrity is its integration with our existing PTC tools, especially for drawing release activities."
"It's a good tool to manage software versions, update the status, and manage tasks."
"We now have a more holistic view of how development teams are executing against the enterprise’s strategic roadmap."
"These features are most valuable to me because they are useful for my job functions."
"I liked the overall user interface of Agile Central; it is so much more user friendly, the Kanban view really helps daily tracking of user stories, and the reporting tools available are easy to configure and use."
"I think it is an excellent tool for tracking agile scrum activities."
"Everything is right in one place, correlated, and related in the right way, and at the right level that allows for planning, execution, and tracking afterwards."
"It is a very good tool, well suited for Agile methodology and user story management, and with the introduction of test case management and defect management, it has really boomed and is at par with some of the existing systems, apps, and test management tools such as HP ALM."
"When we went into Scaled Agile Framework, we could not have done it without the use of Agile Central, as it allows us to scale our Scrum teams and it also enables us when we do our remote big room plannings."
"Agile Central allows us to log one hundred percent of the work we do and it allows for no hidden work, so teams can't go under the radar with what they're working on."

Cons

"I would like to see better integration from the architectural side."
"It's not so customizable. Compared to other tools, defining user stories is a slightly more cumbersome process as an ALM engineer."
"The tool's web-based UI needs improvement. Some functionalities don't work yet, and querying items is slow. Also, it's not in the cloud yet. I don't know if they'll do it in the future because they already have core agreements with customers. If they offer these functionalities, customers will likely buy their product."
"Overall, we are not very happy with PTC Integrity."
"Scalability is a concern for this particular tool."
"Usability, and the human factor, and if they improve this then i would rate this 10/10."
"Scalability is a little difficult because the product gets slower as it's scaled."
"It's not easy to plan on this solution and it's not user-friendly. The interface should be more like a web interface. It's not easy to use."
"I would like to see greater ability to manage common teams that are working across projects and how that common team has tasks to do in both projects or in multiple other projects."
"It could use some templates and patterns that we can follow."
"The Reporting feature can improve, especially around executive summaries and dependency mapping."
"I would like to see it more well connected with the PPM tool. We have Planview."
"It's a bit cumbersome to manage the Project Picker. As we sunset teams or projects close out - but we still have test cases tied to those teams or projects that are being used in other spaces - we have this monstrous list in the Project Picker that becomes really difficult to manage and find, and we can't clean that up ourselves. It would be nice if it was easier to do that and not lose your history."
"Charts and dashboards should be more interactive."
"Primarily, producing more meaningful dashboards is what we have given to them, saying "customizable." Customized reporting, so that rather than going to them, if I can produce my own UI, that would be meaningful."
"Building custom reports is difficult and cumbersome."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"Rally Software costs $50 a month, and for a base account, that price is acceptable."
"I understand it's a little more expensive. That is why many people prefer Jira."
"It is expensive and may not be worthwhile for a small company."
"The license costs are fairly high as compared to some of the other solutions out there."
"We are always looking for a discount, if the solution was less expensive it would be a benefit."
"Frankly, pricing is expensive and needs to be carefully planned for when budgeting."
"From a price point, it's a cost effective solution for our needs."
"I don't know the exact pricing, but I think the tool is priced high. They provide quality workmanship, good software, regular upgrades, and they're always attentive and listen to users. Everything comes with a price. I think it's an expensive solution compared to Jira or other competitors, but it's a complete package."
