Versatile integrations and reliable customer satisfaction elevate cloud service experience
For Microsoft Azure improvement, they need to enhance their support system. The first level of support should be improved in terms of quality and response time. They need more technical support at the first level, as there are currently only one or two technical people among five to ten staff members at this level. They should ensure that the first level support is more technical because we normally provide services to technical users ourselves. When an issue arises, it usually escalates to the second or third level. When facing first level support, they may have limited knowledge and only collect screenshots to forward to their seniors. They should ensure that the first level support is aligned with L2 and L3 to better assist us, especially since we mention in the ticket that our issues are related to specific problems and require that sort of support.

Cost-effectiveness and pricing consistency support diverse high-intensity applications
The services of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) are quite competent when compared to AWS Cloud, and they are also lower in cost. We use compute, storage, and network services. A notable feature is Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's consistent global pricing, which is advantageous. Furthermore, applications using Oracle Database not only work seamlessly on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) but also benefit from a 25% offset on Oracle Database licenses.

Ability to create different connections, multi-tenant architecture but slow execution of commands
There are a lot of features in Oracle Developer. You can create tables, users, views, materialized views. You can also do data pump jobs to export jobs, export databases and dump files, create backup jobs, that sort of thing. Users can usually integrate this tool with other solutions for development or management processes. There are different connections you can create. For example, with Office applications, you can connect to the database. Or if you're programming in Java, you can use a JDK connection to retrieve data from the database and read, store, or update records. For security, everything's perfect. You can use an SSH connection if you're accessing a server in the cloud, or you just have a normal IP connection if you're running your database on the local network.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Azure is very user-friendly, I was able to create some database servers really fast, and the user interface is intuitive."
"The solution is very flexible, it is not limited to Microsoft solutions. It integrates well with other solutions, such as Oracle. There are a lot of templates we are able to use allowing us to reduce the time for configuration."
"We use the cognitive service, virtual machines, and customer DB. Microsoft Azure is also scalable and easy to install."
"Microsoft Azure has benefited our organization mostly because we moved all our infrastructure to the cloud."
"The main benefit of Microsoft Azure is that it is cloud-based; we are using Microsoft Visual Studio for our code and it is tightly integrated with Microsoft Azure, and additionally, the solution is user-friendly."
"We have found the user interface to be intuitive. Microsoft is a master at UI."
"There are multiple players in the market and this seems to be a good solution."
"Compute (App service, and virtual machine scale sets): The ability to manage Windows and Linus virtual machines."
"It's reliable, performs well, and is often faster than running applications on separate machines due to optimized performance and networking capabilities within OCI."
"The support is very good. They are giving good support."
"I head the sales and marketing team. So, specifically on the feature set side, multi-tenancy is the one that I'm most familiar with. It's also the one that we found to be the most beneficial to us because it allows us to take clients that have multiple sites. For instance, one of our larger clients, which is a bank based out of South Africa, has offices in multiple countries. It allows us to multi-tenant each and create a tenant for each country within multi-tenanted architecture."
"Apart from the licensing, there's support from Oracle Cloud Platform which improved our day to day operations, time is reduced, and based on this service we are able to scale up dependent applications as quickly as we can."
"I haven't experienced any instability or downtime in Oracle Cloud over the past three years. It is scalable The support team was good. The initial setup is straightforward to configure. I rate the solution a nine out of ten with ten being the highest."
"Most of the features that I have used in the product are good and I am happy with it."
"The solution is easy to use."
"We appreciate the fact that this solution will operate with both native and third-party applications. This has meant that we don't need to change all of our systems to accommodate it within our network."
"The solution's technical support is really good."
"Oracle Developer Cloud Service isn't an expensive product; it's definitely cheaper than any other enterprise cloud solution."
"The APEX solution is the most interesting part of the Oracle Developer Service. APEX is the most cost-effective and most popular service for developers. Kubernetes and Docker services are also important and very much cost-effective, and helpful for developers. If we compare Oracle to other cloud services providers, they'll also be cost-effective. The financial involvement is also a good point because other cloud services charge for Docker and Kubernetes solutions. Oracle's offering is almost free. They only charge for the VM or virtual machine. This is also an interesting part for the developers as well."
"With the multi-tenant architecture, you can migrate many databases to one instance. This saves a lot of money and administrative work."

Cons

"Many features are specific to Azure cloud, creating a vendor lock-in."
"It is pretty secure, but it can always be more secure."
"There were also a lot of constraints with the serverless parts."
"This solution is not user friendly to set up and it's difficult to understand, particularly with regard to information protection and the sort of licensing needed to utilize it."
"Lacks flexibility in terms of storage or resource allocation."
"Unfortunately, the authentication method only allows me to have up to 90 users, and there are 2,300 people in the company."
"Microsoft Azure needs to be simplified to make it better understood for users."
"I don't understand why we spend so much time and money on Azure when Microsoft relies on third-party companies for support in the CSP model. I don't know how the support model works within Microsoft, but giving it to poor-performing third-party companies is not ideal."
"One of the main areas that might be improved is not the Oracle product itself, but more like the infrastructure as a service."
"The customization and the requests put through were not flexible enough."
"The initial setup can be a bit complex."
"Simplifying the cloud management console would be really valuable for small and large customers alike."
"Technical support could be a bit better."
"There should be more management automation."
"Oracle Cloud's price is very high."
"It is not scalable."
"Improvements are needed in terms of the usage of the map chart and risk management services."
"t would be better if the open-source databases were managed. Some managed services for open-source databases are available in other cloud solutions, but Oracle doesn't have any. They should provision more managed services for open-source databases like MongoDB and PostgreSQL. These types of managed database services should be available in Oracle Cloud Service and others. There are other technical issues like the CDN network that is not directly configured to Oracle and needs support from a third party. There are also some services available in AWS and Azure that should be included in Oracle Cloud Service."
"Sometimes, I lose the cursor in the editor, and it disappears for no reason. It's hard to guess where I'm in the text, and I feel a bit lost."
"It would be better if the open-source databases were managed. Some managed services for open-source databases are available in other cloud solutions, but Oracle doesn't have any."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost of the solution could be reduced. However, I am using the free version."
"Make use of Azure pricing calculator and you will find out that Azure Is still more reasonable that the competition and do your research, when unclear speak with your MS support."
"The price of the solution can be expensive."
"Microsoft Azure's pricing is reasonable. We pay around 5000 dollars per annum."
"The price of the solution could be less expensive and the pricing model could be less confusing."
"Microsoft Azure comes with a long-term license and trial licenses as well."
"We pay a monthly licensing fee for the solution, which could be cheaper."
"This is an expensive product."
"OCI's pricing is one of its best features."
"Costing depends on if you have an existing license for the application and for the operating system."
"The pricing for Oracle Cloud services is reasonable. Additionally, compared to other service providers, Oracle has a substantial presence and established infrastructure in Bangladesh. Considering all these factors together makes Oracle Cloud an ideal choice and a strong contender in the market."
"The price for Oracle Cloud may seem expensive, but if you start comparing features and what Oracle offers, you'll realize that the pricing for Oracle Cloud is competitive. If you consider every aspect of Oracle Cloud, you'll see that its price tag is reasonable because it has a good user interface, user experience, and management. Oracle Cloud is a sophisticated infrastructure and the level of management it allows you to enjoy isn't available in other solutions, so I wouldn't worry about needing to invest huge money into it because it's a wonderful product to use."
"Oracle Cloud Platform is a bit costly. You can always bring your own license or subscribe to the SaaS option, but the SaaS option is very costly. I rate the pricing a six out of ten."
"The pricing is a little bit expensive compared to other products."
"Oracle offers universal credit and pay-as-you-go options."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"I rate the pricing two on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"Oracle Developer Cloud Service isn't an expensive product. It's definitely cheaper than any other enterprise cloud solution."
