Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Comprehensive workflows and data views have supported complex teams but still need cost improvements
JIRA Service Management is costly. The pricing structure needs improvement. When I add some plugins, I have to pay the cost for every user whether they are using it or not. For smaller companies, the detailed workflow editing and the kind of details that JIRA Service Management provides would be complex. For startups and smaller companies, JIRA Service Management would be complex. The cloud offering is easier because I don't have to manage the infrastructure. There are two templates of the project: company-managed and team-managed. Team-managed is a newer feature, which is good for startup-kind companies where they don't need control over data from multiple projects displaying in one dashboard. For startups, JIRA Service Management is somewhat complex with its schemes and everything. Capacity management should be improved in terms of additional features in the next release of JIRA Service Management.

A modular, easy-to-use solution that needs to improve support and include automation
There are one or two annoying things. For example, if you make a drop-down list of something, it doesn't automatically alphabetize the drop-down list. You have to manually go and drag items up and down and alphabetize them yourself. That's annoying. If you have five items in the drop-down list or if you have a hundred, it's just pathetic. It makes no sense that you have to do that because I've never seen it not work before in any other system that I've ever worked with. If you make a list of things, most solutions automatically put it in an alphabetized order. Or it'll put it in date order, but there is some order. It doesn't just go randomly in the order you create them. For example, I might load about 20 neighborhoods into a drop-down list, starting at "a" and ending at "z." But I might miss one of the "b's" and two of the "c's," so I add them, but they are added after the "z." Then I have to go to the bottom of the list, click on the one that starts with "b," and drag it all the way up to the "b's." That's just a pain in the butt.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The support team is good and is able to resolve the issues or any challenges we encounter."
"Basically, to be frank, most of the features are awesome."
"In my case in particular, I come from a business background, not an IT background. So, it sort of speaks for itself that I was able to pickup its functionality and how it works. In the space of two years time, I've gone from a junior developer to a senior specialist. So, it really speaks for itself in terms of being user-friendly."
"I definitely find that it has helped increase productivity."
"We get positive feedback from the client regarding the processes that we have developed, as it saves a lot of their manual time and most of their work is done by the bot, without any human intervention."
"Automation Anywhere helped us to reduce the work time on data operations."
"No review content was provided."
"Automation is going to become a new area we will certainly encourage a lot of people to pursue because of the lasting dividends it provides, including saving time and manpower."
"This solution has helped us a great deal in project management tracking and forecasting."
"Some of the most valuable features are simplicity, ease of configuration, and ease of customization."
"Jira gets the basics right in terms of the Product Backlog and a Scrum Board that Scrum Teams can use to manage Sprint Backlogs."
"The customer portal allows users to register tickets themselves."
"One of the main advantages of JIRA is that it can be customized for our solutions. I live in Iran and we translated some parts of it into Persian and customized it with extra features. We hid other features to customize it right to the point. We provide this solution for our customers."
"The initial setup is easy and straightforward."
"Auditing team uses this solution to track audit findings and follow-up."
"Using JIRA simplifies tracking issues and updates."
"Very flexible and customizable; we appreciate being able to host it locally with direct access to the backend."
"The fact that we can build our own modules on the solution is really quite attractive, and it's not overly complex."
"The most valuable feature of Vtiger CRM is automation."

Cons

"This solution saves us time but there are some things that make it clumsy for the end-users."
"It is good for standard procedures with an SOP. For those, it works well. But there are processes that are tricky and need human intervention and intelligence. In those cases, the process gets stuck."
"I would suggest going with Microsoft Power Automate rather than Automation Anywhere because Power Automate's cloud flow is easier to use."
"It is a bit wonky with HTML when I'm working with it. There are times when it's not able to detect the technology that we are using. I don't know whether it's an Automation Anywhere issue or an internal issue. I want it to work smoothly with more technologies."
"The OCR component should allow integration with 3rd party OCR. This way we can use the best of breed solution along with AA or allow better control over OCR packages to be customized."
"However, the AI Sense Recorder is too slow, so they can enhance its features for easier user experience."
"We only faced some problems when integrating it with SAP, and Oracle integration was a bit challenging, especially with Oracle Fusion. We had some issues when we were trying to connect some of the applications on the API level. But, in general, integration using Automation Anywhere is fine."
"The initial setup for the program was not straightforward. It was definitely complex."
"The product does not allow customization of reports."
"As a consultant, I have used the support. Some of the support I have received has been good and other times it could improve."
"The licensing model could be improved."
"The interface could always be updated and improved."
"JIRA Service Management could include more AI features."
"Some of the areas that could be improved are with the customizations."
"I feel that Atlassian isn't really interested in fixing everything because if they did, the partners that are developing the fixes and features would not have a place in the market."
"The price is a point of contention for me. It does overall work out as a significant amount of money that will be spent over a shorter period of time."
"The mobile design could improve in Vtiger CRM. It could be more user-friendly."
"The charts and graphs available out of the box are pretty outdated, and you're a little limited in how you can present information on the dashboard without adding modules."
"If you make a drop-down list of something, it doesn't automatically alphabetize the drop-down list. You have to manually go and drag items up and down and alphabetize them yourself."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In terms of pricing, it's not at all cheap, and that's a concern. The licensing cost is very high. While I don't know the exact prices of other tools, Microsoft offers the lowest pricing for its RPA platform compared to UiPath and Automation Anywhere."
"Automation Anywhere is expensive, making it suitable only for enterprise organizations."
"The price is very reasonable."
"It's a bit expensive compared to other RPA tools on the market."
"The product starts at $10,000 and then it's up to you regarding how much you can consume."
"Talk to your manager and try to procure an automation license for training. This will allow you to train people, so you can move to automation."
"I don't deal have cost specifics but I can say it is a tool that provides value for the money."
"We would like them to change the license model of charging per bot."
"It is one of the premium products on the market, but it is very costly, especially in the Indian market."
"Licensing can become quite expensive."
"The cost has recently increased. It might be around $20 to $25 per user license."
"The pricing is very competitive and I think that it is okay."
"I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, where one is low price, and ten is high price. It's competitively priced."
"On a scale of one to five, with one being really high and five being good, I would rate the price of this solution as a four."
"But about the plugins, I found one plug-in — its name is Actionable Metric I think — and it is $3000. That is very expensive for users in Iran."
"For the people like us, the lower the price, the better. But when compared to other competitors, I think it's Jira's price is okay."
"The price doesn't change when you add users. It's a flat fee, and that's attractive."
"We are using the free open-source version of Vtiger CRM."
