Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The mobile application management, MAM, is the most useful aspect of the solution.""While Microsoft Intune boasts a wide range of features, its user-friendliness and bundled licensing cost are key considerations for me.""Based on my experience, I find Intune very flexible for managing Windows devices. We can use scripting, and we can make use of the self-service portal or the company portal to publish some of the applications for Windows.""The most valuable feature for us is the security, including risk analysis and patch management.""The ability to block and erase remote devices is valuable to us, especially when those devices are lost.""It's easy to manage and easy to configure.""The most valuable includes managing everything from a single console.""We can securely manage both company-owned devices and personal devices enrolled in our BYOD program."

More Microsoft Intune Pros →

"The self-service portal enables standard users to install and update software, change settings, and open organizational URLs.""The full API lets us write custom scripts and apps to enhance even further the end-user experience.""The self-service is invaluable to the user.""With the countless API integrations and Jamf Marketplace add-ons, Jamf is customizable and is a total device management tool for Apple's ecosystem.""Integration with Apple's DEP program and the ability to image systems quickly and efficiently is one of the best features. I use Jamf Pro to push out remote access tools that allow us to help our users with issues that require more "hands-on" than only MDM can provide, which is nice as well.""I have been using Jamf Pro for a few years now, and I'm impressed with its functionality and ease of use.""Jamf Pro allowed us to patch and manage endpoints while collecting log data to help improve operational efficiency.""The Automated Device Enrolment is great!"

More Jamf Pro Pros →

"Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management offers on-premises deployment.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the ability to assign a package to a user on a system If you have your software packages set up via SCCM. It automates the process, which is very convenient, especially since most of our people are remote. Additionally, the overall functionality is good."

Cons
"The scalability could be improved, and like most other MDM products, Intune is good but not 100% there yet.""Cost is the biggest factor for us right now. Microsoft Intune and AD P1 together in a bundle is a good thing to have, but it is very costly compared to other products in the market. Otherwise, Microsoft Intune is the best.""Microsoft Intune lags market leaders, such as Apperian, in its MAM capabilities.""It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console.""Once it's configured it is unobtrusive, but it does take some hands-on to configure and deploy it properly.""I wanted to check if there is any provision at the Intune level to restrict certain things, such as a website, but unfortunately, that feature is available only in Microsoft Defender. Intune has web filtering capabilities, but they are only useful for protection from malicious websites, whereas we would like to be able to restrict a website. For example, YouTube is a clean website. No one would identify it as a malicious website, but if we want to stop the end-users from going to that website, we have to go for another product, such as Microsoft Defender or another third-party proxy solution. It would be great if this capability is included in Intune.""Reporting in Microsoft solutions is pathetic. With Intune, I'm getting a free inventory tool, but I don't get a reporting tool. When I go to Intune, I can see one machine's entire data in terms of the hardware and the software running on it, but I cannot generate a report for all the machines in the organization. The reporting is the only feature holding back the functionality that is already there.""The UI is not user-friendly and has room for improvement."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"Jamf could improve versioning as in outright blocking OS upgrades OR improving maintaining every application’s update feature. As of now, only some apps, like Flash, have managed updates.""Some improvement can be made in the customer service realm, while also making additional training level courses available for online study and exam-taking.""I'd like to see Jamf add Unified Endpoint Management, but it's not going to happen. It's too complex. We tried that for so many years, and no one can do this for Windows and macOS. It can be done with iOS, but that's not the case here. If you want device management for a real laptop operating system, you need two systems. They're very different.""We face issues when we do not have a script and have to write a script, we need to create extension attributes.""I am always complaining about the reporting side of things. I love how reporting lets us create custom reports, however, I also feel like it could use some updating.""Patch Management needs work to be efficient.""The solution should offer beta testing for new products.""It would be great if we get an email notification when the Mac users install any apps, so IT can be alerted."

More Jamf Pro Cons →

"Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management could improve the user interface, it is not very intuitive.""In terms of integration, there is still room for improvement in Matrix42."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

    Reviews from Real Users

Jamf Pro stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Some of these include its app deployment, its easy installation, and the fact that it’s lightweight but powerful. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

An IT Support Specialist at Visby Medical writes, “The first most valuable feature I found was the ability to simply push out applications to devices, Mac or iPads/iPhones. It's as easy as procuring the licensing for the apps and then setting it to the volume purchasing back in Jamf.”

Another reviewer, a Desktop Engineer at Kroger, notes, “The self-service portal to share scripts and other tasks that have extremely minimized the need for calls to our support teams, or even sharing the applications we package and allowing users to pick and choose what apps they need or want, instead of just blanket installing everything from our old environment.”

Silverback offers easy, scalable and secure device management for tablets and smartphones, including Android for Work, Windows 10 Mobile, iOS, and Mac OS.
