Automation has transformed financial workflows and has improved revenue tracking and compliance
Regarding Watsonx, I am uncertain whether it is fully complied and fully integrated with IBM Business Automation Workflow yet. Currently, we use some AI in Enterprise Content Management, particularly when searching documents. Archiving snapshots would be very beneficial. It would be good to reduce the administration effort required to archive snapshots, as this is a main issue with the product. I would also recommend that IBM engage with customers more deeply. Rather than sending URLs or documentation for customers to solve problems independently, the support team should be more involved in addressing the client's specific issues in a targeted manner, providing clear guidance on what actions need to be taken.

Integrates well and helpful support
Ultimus Adaptive Business Process Management has good integration with all the other tools we have been using in our company. We use the data that other tools provide in our implementation. We have developed several processes here in the company, such as requests for change, request development, and buying processes. The tool allows you to modify the business rules without the need to modify the source code, the administrator can move the process one step to another without needing to be implemented in the logic of the automation, this can be done from the administration console Or with the integration EIK, there is a wide number of options for the administrator who gives you great flexibility in your administration.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most important aspect is that it helped us focus on the business process perspective."
"IBM provides long-term support and maintains a traditionally good customer-vendor relationship."
"The solution is stable, and IBM leads when it comes to automation."
"The integration capabilities are excellent, as IBM Business Automation Workflow integrates seamlessly with other IBM products, such as Enterprise Content Management, FileNet, Case Manager, and Operational Decision Management, with many adapters available so we can communicate everything through the same business process management scenario."
"It gives us the ability to create toolkits and use them across many different applications. It allows us to write things one time, instead of having to write a diary for every single different application. We can write at once and reuse it."
"Its interface is well-designed and user-friendly"
"The dashboards are helpful because you can display reports directly on your screen."
"One of the most valuable features is the way that they are adapting to the market. Initially, it was doing only workflow. Now it has started bringing all the other components like rules within the workflow and then the integration with RPA."
"Ultimus Adaptive Business Process Management has good integration with all the other tools we have been using in our company, and the tool allows you to modify the business rules without the need to modify the source code, giving great flexibility in administration."
"Development is easy on the Ultimus platform."

Cons

"Every client is moving to the cloud. We are still a little behind with IBM, but we are catching up from my point of view."
"We have found it tough to get the proper support from IBM."
"However, on Windows, I believe considerable administration tasks are required to maintain environment stability."
"I feel that the features are not user-friendly."
"The SCADA Systems are very sophisticated and have a hard time integrating with our older scales. The technical support in regards to the partner side needs some improvement."
"The solution's technical support could use improvement. The IBM BPM platform, at least from a cloud perspective, still requires using IBM support, which is not very responsive."
"IBM Business Automation Workflow is used for the financial sector like the loan management process cycle. It is not worth to use for simple process."
"The main improvement would be to make it easier to implement and deploy so that customers can kick it off and run quickly."
"We are looking for a feature that can resign and move the process from one step to another step."
"The tool does not save the reprocessing of the steps, this has to be done with own implementations, stores the whole story of a process instance but in a non-processable format for statistics without doing prior job."
"Ultimus is not good at handling cash transactions. They should add a mobile application in the next release."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is on the expensive side, but it provides excellent supportability and an ecosystem that is proven to be a great fit for our organization."
"There is still a relatively high total cost of ownership to actually implement, support, and stand up solutions."
"When you compare with Laserfiche and M-Files, IBM is expensive."
"The product is expensive."
"While it can be quite costly, it offers significant benefits for users."
"Nowadays, clients are looking at pricing as one of the major factors. For IBM products, they always think it is expensive for them. We are still educating our clients on the IBM FlexPoints licensing."
"Licensing varies by use-case."
"The solution has saved us time."
"Ultimus could stand to lower the price. Other tools are cheaper."
