Good reporting, a very good dashboard, and easy to set up
We primarily use the solution for processes like preparing worksheets. It's essential to the human resource process like expenses and allowances The new reporting and the new dashboard features are really good. The design of the interface, in general, could be improved. It could be a bit more…

Regarding Watsonx, I am uncertain whether it is fully complied and fully integrated with IBM Business Automation Workflow yet. Currently, we use some AI in Enterprise Content Management, particularly when searching documents. Archiving snapshots would be very beneficial. It would be good to reduce the administration effort required to archive snapshots, as this is a main issue with the product. I would also recommend that IBM engage with customers more deeply. Rather than sending URLs or documentation for customers to solve problems independently, the support team should be more involved in addressing the client's specific issues in a targeted manner, providing clear guidance on what actions need to be taken.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is very stable. There is no downtime."
"The new reporting and the new dashboard features are really good."
"I find the flexibility most valuable, and being able to connect and integrate with various systems, as well as being solution oriented, is valuable to me as well."
"The tool streamlines operations, especially from an operational perspective, by facilitating decision-making and ensuring timely approvals. This helps prevent delays in the approval process, where business process management adds significant value for us."
"After being acquired from Lombardi by IBM, BPA was only workflow-related, and over a period of time it evolved with a lot of capabilities added to the product, like rules, business decision-making, and now a more enhanced toolkit to build applications very rapidly."
"This is a stable solution that we have been able to use as a distributed system."
"Its interface is well-designed and user-friendly"
"No matter what somebody's technical experience level is, the tool can start adding value immediately. Even if that is just an analyst who doesn't have any technical background, they can use some of these no quote accelerators to get things from ideation to deployment in a matter of minutes."
"IBM Business Automation Workflow has a flexible pricing mode, but the price is expensive, and the price of the solution reflects the quality of the solution which is very high."
"It has had a positive effect on decision-making in my organization. It helps us with our dispute process."
"The most important aspect is that it helped us focus on the business process perspective."

Cons

"The setup and configuration is complex."
"The areas that would benefit in improvement would be the training information, the white papers and useful tutorials as to how to build these typical solutions."
"The design of the interface, in general, could be improved. It could be a bit more user-friendly."
"The setup and installation process could be made easier."
"Code management lacks merging capabilities. If parallel development requires merging, improvements in this area would be beneficial."
"Sometimes, you need an integrated solution. Customers don't want to have to say, "Oh, I'm acquiring this product, now I have to go build up that product. I have to go and build something else in another product and integrate.""
"The initial setup is actually a really complicated process."
"IBM Business Automation Workflow can improve UI flexibility and integration. Additionally, the solutions from IBM have to provide a paperless solution, allowing for digital versions of documents."
"The main improvement would be to make it easier to implement and deploy so that customers can kick it off and run quickly."
"IBM Business Automation Workflow is used for the financial sector like the loan management process cycle. It is not worth to use for simple process."
"IBM Business Automation Workflow could improve the integration."
