We performed a comparison between Dynatrace and Nutanix Kubernetes Engine NKE based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Container Monitoring solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."You get a good insight into what is going on inside your code."
"We can analyse problems more quickly, and detecting problems becomes easier with Dynatrace."
"Dynatrace helped us with root cause analysis of poor performing components of our applications."
"It reduces time and provides detailed info, showing problem correlation, and a single point of diagnosis."
"It is much easier to deploy, maintain, and delivery of high value insights, which almost immediately lowers the mean time to value and resolution of issues."
"We can see which step in a transaction is causing latency, right down to the particular Java class"
"The proactive monitoring that we can do with Dynatrace where it is 24/7 on with all the user experience indexed and everything coming into us."
"The triaging is amazing. And at the same time, it provides depth, all the way to what kind of a method, what variables are inside those methods. Without getting too into the technical, the depth it gets to, pinpointing the problematic area - where exactly the problem is happening - is amazing."
"The solution is easy to manage. You can get everything in a single platform. It is also easy to work with Terraform as a code."
"The solution is embedded in the hypervisor and there are no deployment costs."
"The most valuable features of the Nutanix Kubernetes Engine (NKE) are its simplicity and efficiency during the initial cluster creation phase."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"We can do a lot of provisioning."
"The product integrates well with our infrastructure."
"We can add some add-ons and plugins to the product if we need to."
"The technical support is excellent."
"When it comes to monitoring, we did the integration with VMware vCenter, and we were able to see some good stuff. The VMware vCenter integration was really great, but what we really missed was the integration with the network management stuff such as Cisco ACI. We wanted to see integration in that area, but it was not provided by Dynatrace. So, the main feature for us is integration with things like Cisco ACI. If they can bring that one in, with vCenter in there, it would be a total solution. It would be absolutely incomparable to anything else in the market."
"We sometimes have to run plugins on docker containers."
"The solution could improve by allowing more dashboards customization. This would allow us to monitor the metric better."
"We have a couple of one page apps that it has a problem with because it doesn't call to the server all the time. I believe part of that is taken care of in the next version."
"Whenever there is a new version the UI changes, it makes it hard to use, because we are accustomed to the old one."
"If Dynatrace is capturing everything in your application, it has to "sense" that information, and that sensing needs sensors which we have to include in our applications. The more you apply sensors - the more details you want - the more you have to increase the level of sensing. If I increase the level of sensing, my application's performance goes down, because something is there that is, again and again, checking each and every thing in the application. So that load on the applications increases. So, many times my applications used to crash because Dynatrace was working on them. We had to remove some sensing; either we had to reduce the sensing or we had to remove Dynatrace immediately."
"In regards to Diffie-Hellman encryption stuff, it is a hurdle with what we are doing with DC RUM, where everyone is embracing stronger security suites, but the whole point of DC RUM is to get that data between the tiers."
"With Linux or Windows, it automatically takes care of everything, so there's no need for you to do any manual config changes. But when it comes to AIX - because I implemented it two weeks back - you have to go back to kind of an AppMon approach, where you instrument agents for .NET applications. So if Dynatrace could make those changes and make it automated, that would be one of the biggest action items."
"I would like to have more nodes for availability and storage."
"The product lacks some virtualization capabilities, making it an area for improvement where the solution can focus on providing users with more virtualization capabilities related to disk systems."
"In the next release, I would like to have automatic dynamic scaling, both upscaling and downscaling."
"We need a backup of production clusters."
"I have issues with the product's interoperability."
"There have been challenges related to software bugs, especially regarding long-term licensing options and issues within our customer network."
"Areas for improvement in Nutanix Kubernetes Engine (NKE) include upgrading management capabilities and enhancing the user interface for improved usability."
"GUI lacks sufficient information to help with understanding the installation and process."
