We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I use Citrix DaaS to connect to devices.""The ROI for us has been that when we had Hurricane Harvey last year, Xendesktop came in very handy for us. Even though people had electricity in Texas, many networks were down. Our offices could still get into our network and do work that was needed. It is an excellent virtual office that works anywhere, anytime and anyplace. It is worth our investment.""The initial setup is easy.""The most valuable feature is the automatic software upgrades because they take place on only three or four servers, rather than on 50 or 60 machines.""It provides the flexibility of being used on any device which makes the employee experience better, in terms of ease of use.""Relative to other solutions, Citrix has fewer conditions and fewer parameters. Citrix also provides some flexibility because it can be used on any device.""The user experience when using the solution's technology remotely is definitely superior to our VPN and/or Windows Remote Desktop. It's a much better user experience for those folks.""Citrix is one of the companies that is delivering virtual apps and desktops in a big way. They are mature enough to understand the level of stability required and deliver it."

"It is user-friendly, and the performance is also good. It is a convenient product""Maturity makes it a stable product.""Remote Wipe and Autopilot is one of the best features.""In terms of technical support, you will get an immediate response.""Based on my experience, I find Intune very flexible for managing Windows devices. We can use scripting, and we can make use of the self-service portal or the company portal to publish some of the applications for Windows.""Intune provides full endpoint visibility and IT control across device platforms. You can individualize it for your company with the Intune Company Portal app.""A valuable feature is user enrollment, where users can enroll their devices in their organizations themselves.""It supports end-users who tend to lock their devices quite frequently. Its conditional access policy helps us keep the users logged into their devices."

Cons
"Tech support can be slow if you do not receive help from the US representatives.""The only thing we have found to be detrimental is when we have tried to find training. I realize that we're looking at it at the worst time possible, with a pandemic going on, but it seems that most of the training offered is learn-by-yourself online.""Citrix's functionality depends on you having access to Microsoft Azure. Microsoft offers a broad range of features and solutions. Overall, it may make sense for some users to move all their services to Microsoft services.""The initial setup is complex.""The support offered by Citrix's partner needs to improve. The partner support platform should aim to provide more technical information to users.""I think they can improve the troubleshooting to make it easier for users to solve problems on their own. For example, it could provide an error code and some instructions on how to reconnect to the database or do something proactive to fix the issue with the system.""The video conferencing feature needs to be improved.""The sales team does not focus on client needs but instead focuses on selling higher-priced items."

More Citrix DaaS (formerly Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service) Cons →

"More integration with monitoring tools is needed.""There are a lot of small use cases where we realized that some technical solution was missing in Microsoft in comparison to other products. For example, it lacks something similar to sensing or location-based rules and configurations.""There are a few security features that are not available in Microsoft Intune, when compared to other products.""Deploying an app can be a complex process due to dependencies.""An area for improvement is the absence of seamless integration, particularly with external dashboards.""They can improve their MAM policies a little bit more and make them more granular. They should include more granular group policies. They are there, but they need to be more granular. Its stability should also be improved. It is not very stable. Sometimes, it shows some inconsistencies across tenants.""There can be some added features, such as an improved dashboard. Any new feature that could be a benefit to our customers would be good.""One big problem with Microsoft is that they're changing the names of the products quite often, or they're quite consistently doing so. Intune is now Endpoint administration. Constantly switching the user interface or the administrative interface makes it quite hard to keep pace. If you are on a two-week holiday and you come back and look at the same screen you have looked at for the last couple of months, it looks different, which is annoying. Changing things around all the time doesn't make it easy."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
