Pros
"I have contacted the support once and the experience was good, I was satisfied.""Whitelisting services are the most valuable feature of Change Tracker Gen7 R2."

"The support organization behind this product is extremely professional.""The dashboards are great and the user interface is quite intuitive.""What I like best about ExtremeCloud IQ is its ease of use. Flexibility is another pro of ExtremeCloud IQ. I also find ExtremeCloud IQ feature-rich.""The Client 360 feature provides a comprehensive view of your clients and their activities, including the devices they use. Additionally, a feature called Network 360 offers a 360-degree view of the network, like data usage (in GB), the status of ports and AP, and other details. You can drill down on granular-level drills to gain insights into specific applications and usage patterns like application level and fee, where your data is being wasted or what your clients are doing with the Internet data, what kind of applications they are using, etc.""The cloud management gives us the tools and reports that we need to monitor and troubleshoot the network.""ExtremeCloud IQ is a complete package with the pilot and the co-pilot feature that gives me full visibility of the network.""I like ExtremeCloud IQ's unified single-pane-of-glass dashboard. It offers a lot of visibility of performance, and it's great for troubleshooting. You don't have to go to 55 different places. You can get the information you need with just a few clicks.""HiveManager is extremely easy to use for anyone with little network experience."

Cons
"The solution could include more integrations.""The solution could improve by being more secure and have better integration."

More Change Tracker Gen7 R2 Cons →

"There can be an improvement by incorporating two-factor authentication or multi-factor authentication for security. Advanced network access control features and application control features should be added to manage applications. Many customers are interested in managing data, such as setting data quotas for individual users.""I know a school district, a big school district of mine, ripped out Extreme due to inefficiencies. It was the guest network that can be a struggle. They tried to differentiate between their primary network, and then offer a secondary.""The certification costs from suppliers are getting out of control, and it's not just Extreme. We have the same problem with Cisco and Huawei.""The Virtual Appliance crashed once while doing an upgrade. The good thing here is, even if the management system fails, all our networks and features still remain 100% stable and working.""Having a wizard for customers who are just starting might be helpful.""Its price could be lower. It is a simplified solution, but it has price challenges. It is costly as compared to other solutions. It has almost everything. The only thing is that MAC is not possible on the cloud, and it has to be on-premises.""The dashboard and stability need to be improved.""The licensing model could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "There is a license required for this solution."
  • More Change Tracker Gen7 R2 Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Although the pricing is a bit high, I consider Aerohive to be well worth the money."
  • "Buy near the end of Q4 in order to get a deal."
  • "Bring the cost down."
  • "I would advise that you be sure to compare apples with apples. Many customers just look at the price per AP and licences, and compare that against other solutions. But, they do not look at the complete picture such as: TCO - how much the equipment will cost you over, say, seven years? Will the customer need to change complete infrastructure when they want to buy the newest hardware? Does support include a lifetime warranty and RMA?"
  • "For example, if you compare Aruba vs Aerohive, you need to check which licences from Aruba you need to match the functionality of Aerohive (usually you need at least three types of licences and a controller with redundancy). The same goes with Cisco, where you need buy additional licences for central management, firewall, spectral analysis, WIPS, PPSK, etc. Aerohive has a very simple model - one licence for all the functionalities - and you can believe that there are many. One licence makes it easy to maintain, scale, renew and you can plan your costs 10 years in advance."
  • "Start small and grow big. You can choose the basic Aerohive Connect free subscription solution and, later, if needed (in terms of functionality) you can upgrade to Aerohive Select."
  • "There are probably cheaper solutions but we invest for stability and performance for the longer haul."
  • "I did a multi-year license. It was a three-year license. It compares well with others in terms of the price. It is about a hundred dollars per year on a three-year scale."
