Can be used for the virtualization of TCP/IP protocols for third-party terminal insurance
We use it for the virtualization of third-party APIs for performance testing. Our second use case is related to the virtualization of TCP/IP protocols for third-party terminal insurance, which is used for insurance clients In the case of the virtualization of TCP/IP protocols for third-party…

Automation has delivered strong ROI with AI-driven test prioritization and parallel reporting
The best feature of Worksoft Certify is the automatic report generation. Unlike traditional tools like Selenium or Java-based frameworks where reporting often requires custom coding, Certify handles this natively. We are currently utilizing the 14.5 version, which has modernized these capabilities, though we frequently manage backward compatibility for clients still running on the 12.x version series.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Clients were able to save $700k and three million GBP in the first year of using the solution."
"The most valuable features include the capability to use other program languages such as PLSQR, JAVA, .NET, which is important because whenever the tool is limited you can extend it by writing your own code."
"Having this tool as part of the organization gives thought to how individuals can efficiently remove dependencies and reduce time to market."
"It's the ability to capture and replay traffic that's most valuable to us."
"The most valuable feature is definitely how quickly you can get up and mock something that’s not completely done."
"Over the past 3 years which I've been using it, I've found it to be a good solution."
"We needed one tool to do it all, and this fit the bill."
"The benefits are cost savings on hardware and earlier defect identification."
"It is highly scalable and reusable. It is easy for team members to maintain and use with confidence. There is great versatility."
"LiveTouch is the best feature of Worksoft Certify; live touching the objects is very beneficial, and we can use the dynamic windows and objects."
"We were able to use Worksoft to automate all of the actions that we would have to take after an SAP refresh. This way we do the refresh, then that night or right afterwards, we run the Worksoft script and it resets all of our testing users. This sets them up with the right access, the right approvals, and just sets up everything on the back-end so we can do our scripts the next night."
"Automation, although it takes a higher initial cost, saves time with Worksoft Certify."
"By automating our scripts, we were able to do more comprehensive testing and therefore eliminate the number of defects that were be introduced into our environment."
"Worksoft developed a tool to support ERP testing. All prebuilt functions are good at steering the application when the test is executed."
"The tool is easy to use. It is a drag and drop Microsoft type of solution."
"The biggest feature is the fact that it's codeless, which makes it vastly usable by more people who are not even acquainted with IT at all."

Cons

"I would really like more relevant online documentation."
"VSEasy is a nice feature but it needs to have some catches added to it to keep from inadvertently overwriting someone else's virtual service."
"Scalability is the reason I rated it as 8/10. We’re going through some challenges with scalability right now."
"The user interface and usability of the tool is not the best. They could definitely be improved upon in the next release."
"I would like to have more flexibility towards the mainframe virtualization and also in JDBC virtualization."
"Stability issues do arise if there is not enough system memory."
"HPE ALM integration could be better, especially for exporting, importing, and reusing test cases written in an older version of CA Service Virtualization."
"The cost is an area that needs improvement. There are a couple of other tools which provide support for performance testing with the base version itself, but Broadcom needs a separate component to support virtualization for performance testing."
"An area that I would like to see improved is how the permissions are applied. If you're applying permissions groups to a user, one of the options is to delete the group entirely and lose the entire permission group, rather than just deleting the permission from the user, which seems a little silly. In my opinion, that whole module of permissions is very confusing and lends itself to common errors."
"The technical support of the product is an area of concern where certain improvements are required."
"Worksoft Certify's tech support's response time could be improved."
"When you reach out for support, it takes time for them to research it and get back to us."
"We have had run ins with some bugs on Business Process Procedure (BPP) and Execution Manager."
"Certify may not the best solution for your needs, but among the commercial and open source offerings in the automation tools space, it should rank very high."
"I know that we did do some automation, what we call "bots," with Worksoft, and it was clunkier than some of the RPA tools that are currently on the market."
"It would be great if our business testers could develop their own automated test cases. With every release you do, you have to go back and touch your old test cases and bring them up to speed, or develop new test cases. In the beginning, that is a challenge because you have to have someone who is certified in the tool to help you develop these test cases."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are additional fees for advanced-level technical support."
"There is a yearly licensing cost, and I would give it a four out of five."
"I don't have the exact dollar amount, but we have spent close to $1,000,000 for a three-year agreement, for an enterprise level."
"I think the pricing is quite fair because this solution provides a lot of functionalities, and is quite stable."
"The initial investment is probably a little high. It was a little hard for me to sell, but it was a one-shot deal and that's why it's so high. All we are doing now is paying annual maintenance, which we don't have to do if we don't want upgrades, but we do."
"If we do one manual process, it could take approximately two hours. The same process using Worksoft probably takes ten minutes."
"Automating our manual processes has saved us 70 to 80 percent in time."
"By using automation, it reduced about 75 percent of the time when compared to any other tool."
"On our last big SAP implementation project, we inserted an automation resource into the beginning of the project. Between automating regression processes, data staging, and using our automation to help repair cutover and conversion issues. We saved the project about $1,700,000."
"I'm not aware of any licensing costs for Worksoft Certify."
"We save probably 50 percent of our time. The tool does what it's supposed to do, and we are able to actually work."
"Worksoft Certify is slightly more expensive compared to other automation tools that are available on the market. However, the majority of the clients who are utilizing this solution, don't care much about the price. The main aspect the clients look for is its stability and reliability on the automation and whether they are able to rely on the automation scripts."
